Symptoms- week of 5.7

Re: Symptoms- week of 5.7

  • @rawarr Saturday was tough for me. I literally grabbed a blanket and pillow and half-napped on the floor of my son's bedroom while he played around me. Luckily he's super independent so he didn't really GAF. Occasionally he would sort of lay down next to me to half-snuggle, which was super sweet since I don't get that a lot from him.

It didn't help that H got up three hours later than me, right as I was putting the kid down for a nap (and getting ready for my own real nap). He flew nights all last week and was adjusting, but still. I really came close to homociding him this weekend.

  • 10 weeks tomorrow and I do feel like my nausea is improving a bit. I still get it if I don't eat enough/often, but I've been able to only have 2-3 bouts of it a day until nighttime (nighttime is still terrible, starting at like, 7:30.) Anyway, grateful to be feeling at least on somewhat of a more bearable trajectory. Hoping this pattern continues (and that everything is still fine and growing and progressing correctly with this baby! I am so sick of feeling scared whenever I don't feel terrible, but I'll just have to accept that for now, I guess.)
HAHAHA so turns out "winding down" means I've had horrible nausea basically since I posted this and just almost puked in the bathroom at work. I jinxed myself, guys! Don't ever say you're feeling better!!!
  • yesterday I stood up to get off the couch and I got this sudden excruciating pain in my right side. I had to sit back down. It faded pretty quickly though... does that sound like what RLP feels like? I'm only 8w3d and this is my first, so I thought it was a little early for that.
  • @nerdeebird Yeah, that sounds like RLP. I don't get it very often but I got it after getting up too quickly the other week and I had to double over in pain.
  • @nerdeebird That’s probably it! Enjoy, it probably won’t be your only time. :expressionless:

  • Hi all! 10w2d here! My skin is starting to get kind of burny/itchy around my stomach. I'm pretty skinny and this is my first, so shea butter has been helping with that. Also having so bad pain in my hip bones and I can feel where they've pulled apart.

Sooooo looking forward to being close to my 2nd tri!!! I have been throwing up EVERY DAY like 3 times a day and I haven't been able to eat anything!! I can't wait to be able to sit down and eat a full meal again!
  • I generally feel like garbage. So far I’m super nauseous ALL OF THE TIME and migraines to boot. I’ve had chronic migraines since I hit puberty in the 5th grade, and I felt like I had finally gotten them under control.... and then I found out I was pregnant, and it’s just been awful ever since. And I’ve been sooooo tired, all the time.

I live in California and I’m flying to the east coast in a couple of days. I’m really nervous to experience nausea mixed with motion sickness. Wish me luck!!!
  • @tumbleweed-1 right?! I didn't want to say anything, but I was thinking, "lady, it's 3 lbs. Give me a break."

And the heartburn/burping all the time started yesterday. That sucks...I didn't have heartburn until much later with DS!! And that's the only time I'd ever had it before then!

  • I discovered a few days ago that the pain I feel around the tailbone is probably hormones.. it doesn't feel like a bruised tailbone, it just hurts at the little muscles (or maybe ligaments) around it when I bend over.

I thought I got over the fatigue but I guess not. Got home and fell asleep at 7pm. Just grateful I am a FTM and don' have another child to take care of.. just the dog, and she is pretty happy to nap beside me. Although she did wake me up that she needed to go outside lol.

@texas_t I was like that yesterday!!

Nausea got a little better over the weekend. I found that I have to literally have food near me at all times and try to stay semi-full or I get super nauseous. I was a little paranoid that I was feeling too good but good ol nausea came knocking today to remind me that I'm not out of the clear yet :s

  • I just had to interrupt storytime to puke. And my husband very casually says to the kiddo “oh, mommy just had to go throw up.” And seamlessly took over the story. I am unnerved at how normal my vomiting is becoming.
  • I knew my at-bay nausea was too good to be true! I've been *SO* sick the last 3 days  It starts around dinner time and gets worse until I give up and go to bed. Sigh. Other than that, my boobs hurt and I'm fat. blah.

  • @ab_Canada Oh my gosh, I napped almost every day when I was pregnant with DS. Now I can't because he is SO ACTIVE. When I'm not working and he naps, I try to nap... but that's only two days a week.

My biggest symptom (aside from always being hungry... ALWAYS) is headaches. Ugh. I get headaches a lot anyway, I have neck issues which cause bad headaches and sometimes migraines and other times I just get headaches... and the headaches are real over here. Last time they stopped after the first tri so I am hoping that's the case this time! Right now I am drinking a half decaf iced coffee hoping it helps and will take Tylenol soon. This is a headache from yesterday that didn't go away with sleep. *cries*

Tried the unisom and B6 and I finally feel like a normal person! So happy and I really hope this lasts for our trip.

  • @AdorkablePixie Sorry to hear you have headaches and neck problems. I had a lot of neck/shoulder tension and stress and started seeing a chiropractor last winter. After a few very quick repeated visits (one day, then the next, then 3 days later, and so on) and then slowing down the visits (I'm to once a month), my headaches have pretty much disappeared. (Except the one I had last night, lol, but I will see the chiro on Friday for my monthly.) If you haven't tried it, I'd suggest you do! You just have to let them know you're pregnant so they're aware, but chiropractic care is safe during pregnancy. :)

  • Nausea and sore boobs are the big ones.

Has anyone already found they can’t sleep in certain positions? My son refuse to let me sleep on my left side. He would kick and squirm and would not relax until I turned over. Now, at 7 weeks, I can’t sleep on my left side, within a few minutes I feel like my chest is tight, I can’t breath, and start to feel nauseated. So weird!!
  • @omnommer I actually started going to the chiropractor at the end of my last pregnancy because I pulled something in my back running. Once DS was born I continued to go for my neck issues. I go once a month unless I have a flare up then I go as much as needed. :)

  • I can’t remember who suggested preggie pops with B6 for nausea, but THANK YOU!!!! They aren’t a perfect solution, but last night I could tell I was heading for another fun evening of vomiting, and after a couple of the preggie pops I could tell I wasn’t going to throw up. Still nauseated, but better.
  • @Katzalia Preggie Pop Drops Plus are amazing! I still take one after lunch and dinner  I wish they had a grape flavor.

  • Thanks for the rec @echo-charlietango ! Seriously making my life more tolerable. But if they made a grape flavor, you can have ‘em all. I like the apple and lemon ones.

Oh man, I wish that were an option! With two older kids who are in travel sports, we usually don't get home, fed, cleaned up, everyone in bed until 9:30-10, and by then I'm totally dying, ha!

  • @echo-charlietango So I did some googling. Apparently they start as soon as 6 weeks, but unless you know the sensation you don’t really start feeling them until 20ish weeks.

What?!? I never even experienced them with DS in third tri, I'd be terrified to start feeling them now! Though now I know it can be normal? Lol

  • So, my nausea appears to be letting up a bit, but it's replaced by FATIGUE. Holy cow, I cannot keep my eyes open, which is unfortunate, because I still have about 2 hours of work to do and I can't go home until it's done. Why am I so tired *now*? I thought that was more an early first tri thing???
  • Blah I feel so huge already. It’s mostly just bloat but I’ve already gained several lbs. ugh. I need to get better at working out to keep that in check. Starting tomorrow!

  • @maureenmce How annoying!

@trucksntutus I’m afraid to step on a scale :grimace: I’m still in a healthy BMI range, and my last BodPod said that I needed to lose a little fluff (but I didn’t). I’m certain that I’ve already maxed out my first tri weight gain expectation. My OB just said that he wants me to pack on 25lbs by the end, but didn’t specify how many per trimester.

  • @echo-charlietango @trucksntutus I feel like I am showing already!  I didn't think that would happen until much later.  I am going to Ireland with a few friends on Sunday and am getting sad that my clothes don't fit right (and also that I can't drink...).  I don't think it's obvious to anyone else, but it is to me.  I don't like this awkward pudgy-but-not-really-a-baby-belly stage.
