I recommend to do the crater at sunset. It's the same experience but you don't have to get up at the crack of stupid! We just showed up on our way to the airport to fly home and didn't have any trouble getting in. No advance reservation. It's cold up there so bring a sweater!
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
I highly doubt we’ll go anywhere. April-Oct it’s impossible for DH to take off so I’m not planning on it! My sis is due in 3 weeks though so I’m planning to fly back to OH to spend a week with her. Probably won’t be a vacation but I’m really looking forward to all the baby snuggles! Oh shit. I just realized that’s going to conflict with my 20 wk scan/appointment. Oh well I’ll just hope she’ll go over her due date. All 3 of us girls were at least a week late and it’s her first so maybe!
@tinattt23 Cabin trips can be the best trips!! I love the mountains. While TTC, we went on a late honeymoon/babymoon to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and got a small cabin just outside of town. We explored the Tetons and Yellowstone... although it was a little chilly in October there, it was amazing because there were no crowds and all the wildlife was very active preparing for migration and hibernation. Our little air bnb cabin was the CUTEST!!!!
I'm going to San Diego for a long weekend in July. Not sure DH can come yet as we won't know his schedule until he graduates from the fire academy. Hoping he can come, but either way but my butt is sitting on the beach for 4 days.
@ladyofarlington omgggggg have you been before? It's amazing. We had a stop in Ravello on a cruise and the gardens are fantastic and worth every penny.
DH met me in Paris at the end of a European road trip I did with friends in December and that's when we started TTC.
I travel a lot, DH doesn't love it quite as much and has more time limitations with his job, so we likely won't get away again together before baby.
I did rent us a lake house for 4 days over Labor Day weekend an hour away from home, so it will be n ice to escape for a bit with no WiFi and just enjoy us time/family time.

I’ve been to Italy before, but not the Amalfi Coast. Haven’t been to Malta before. I’m SO excited! Thanks for the tip!
@kiwi2628 if you have time (and have never been) I suggest the shortish trip out to Oxford From London. I studied abroad there is it still my favorite spot in all of England! Just cute cafes and shops and beautiful tree lined streets.
@estellegetty Thanks! We were looking for a good day trip besides the ones we have done (Bath, Bristol, Windsor, the Cotswolds), so Oxford may be perfect
@sammierose464 OMG me too! I don't know what it is but I find it so interesting. The Smithsonian Channel had a documentary on it the other day and I was glued.
@sammierose464@SawyerRichardson Agree, perhaps it's a morbid fascination/curiosity with the sudden way in which the city just perished? It's amazing how preserved some places are...our tour guide took us to the brothel (I suppose that's what it would be called) and pointed out all the paintings advertising...services. Still in very good condition-and still quite obvious what they sold lol!
@kiwi2628 I know you’ve said did Bath already, but did you guys go to the new Baths that are several stories high that is a spa and where you can bathe in the hot springs? So delightful! And there’s even a pool on the roof where you can look out at the Victorian city!

Also if you do Pompeii (and you should if you're nearby) go early in the morning. I went in July and it wasn't too hot or crowded super early.
