1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5+4 and the size of a dot snail.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? I was pretty nauseous this morning. I have my third beta in a few hours and I'm so so nervous.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions?
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? My appointment is at 11:50 this one feels more real for some reason. My number should be around 2000 which means I'm closer to getting my first U/S which is making want to cry because my anxiety is through the roof. I just want top stop time or jump forward. I just want to know everything is ok.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Work. I can't sit at my desk and cry no matter how much I want to right now.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5+3, the size of an orange seed.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Realized this week my primary emotion this pregnancy has been fear. I am so afraid of another loss, keep assuming I'm going to stand up at work and be covered in blood again, or go in for the u/s and have no heartbeat again, and then I'm nervous about being so anxious and sad and what negative chemicals that's putting into my uterus and then I just about cry because I don't know how to get out of this circle jerk of negativity. Physically I'm tired and my boobs are finally sore, so actually feeling good about getting some symptoms.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? My BFF's birthday is next week. She and I have been talking about a girls trip weekend, but haven't been able to set anything in stone (partly cause she's a SAHM with an almost-2-yr-old). Her DH called me this weekend and things the girls trip is the thing she wants the most, so confirmed my availability and booked tickets and a hotel for us in Chicago later this summer. It's going to be a great surprise for her, and obviously a ton of fun for me too. Looking forward to showing her around Chicago (I went to college there), and planning the trip with her once she finds out next week.
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? U/S May 25th - feels so far away but looking forward to it.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Exercising with a partner/group that helps take my mind off everything other than what I'm doing in the moment.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 4w and some days. Poppyseed.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically fine. Mentally I'm a mess. Today is especially bad. This morning in the shower I just kept telling it (it doesn't even have ears yet) that it will be okay and you'll make it and mommy is doing everything she can to make sure. I'm just not doing well today.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm not the only one still checking the toilet paper every time they go to the bathroom right?
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I get another HCG draw today. Just need to see that double right now.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Nothing. Just nothing right now.
@galactickates FX for todays appointment and beta! PGAL is so hard especially in the beginning. There are so many unknowns so I totally get wanting to skip some time!
@Kabazaba All the creepy internet hugs about those emotions. There is definitely PTSD involved with losses and picturing things turning out like previous times. I hope the time passes quickly until your first appointment!
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5 + 5 - alsoooooo bad STM still doesn't have an app. So baby is tiny?
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Meh. I had an appointment yesterday and got good and bad news. Good news was we saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac. Couldn't see a definite fetal pole yet but that's normal for 5.5 weeks. BUT we did see what I think is a relatively large SCH. My OB didn't measure it but it looked pretty substantial. She didn't seem overly concerned and said it should only pose a minimal risk on the pregnancy, so I'm hoping that means it either isn't as big as I thought or at least isn't in a bad spot (close to baby, etc). I had to start crinone again to support the lining and I have to go back for weekly ultrasounds now to check on it. I'm constantly worried now that I will start bleeding as she warned me it is a definitely possibility. I also had bloodwork drawn and am dying in anticipation of my results. I called this morning and the nurse told me to call back this afternoon. I will feel a little bit better about viability if I get a good HCG and progesterone number back!
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? On the way home from my appointment yesterday I made a wrong turn in the town I work in and ended up seeing an accident between a cop and a landscaping truck. The cop asked me to stay as a witness. So instead of getting a jump start and getting home early, I left late and sat in tons of traffic.
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Milestone 1: Hoping to get good numbers this afternoon. Milestone 2: Making it to 6 weeks 3 days (Monday) with no bleeding (That's when my first loss was almost confirmed). BIGGEST ONE: Appointment on Tuesday where this little bean should be present and with a heartbeat.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Honestly, and this is unfair, but having DD is helping the most. I am lucky enough to know that my body has grown one healthy pregnancy to term. But having her in general makes my life WAY busier than it was when I was pregnant with her and so I have less time to focus on being PGAL. Except on slow work days like today.
Me: 28 DH: 26 Married: November 2015 TTC#1: January 2016 BFP #1: 5/02/16 - MC: 5/27/16 BFP #2: 10/06/16: 6 - EDD: 06/20/17 DD Born 06/23/17 TFAS: April 2018 BFP #3: 03/21/18 - CP BFP #4: 04/23/18 - EDD 01/04/19
@galactickates Update us when you get your number! Just be aware that once you are over 1,200 the doubling time can slow down some. @Kabazaba It's natural to be fearful. I'm sorry that you have that feeling, I had that feeling especially in my third pregnancy. I'm glad you get to go on a girl's trip this summer, that sounds like a lot of fun. 1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5w6d, have not even set-up a ticker yet.
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically fine. My only symptoms are I apparently am talking up a storm in my sleep (DH keeps leaving and sleeping in the other room), I have on and off insomnia, and my boobs are bigger. Emotionally I'm doing ok right now.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? I realized that my Prometrium prescription is getting filled with a generic progesterone. I checked with my clinic about it and they basically weren't sure if it mattered, probably not. I am going to try to get over to Walgreens and see if I can get them to give me actual Prometrium jic. Does anyone have experience with this?
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Our first u/s is next week, 5/16. My fourth beta came back very strong, although my progesterone had dipped just a bit (was 28.5 at 13dpo, 32.7 at 15dpo, and then back down to 28.5 at 25 dpo - nurse said this was fine). I am trying to decide if I want to have another beta before my u/s. I know at this point the bw doesn't tell us much and we just have to see what the u/s looks like. At the same time I hate being ambushed at the u/s.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Ha. So far the secret is very low expectations. I have trouble believing this will happen so it's harder to be disappointed. Plus work is crazy so that helps.
galactickates GL today! I hope your number brings you some relief. I totally get wanting to speed up time right now.
@Kabazaba I have PTSD from my losses (mainly my first loss since it was a traumatic hemorrhage) which I am currently in therapy for. I completely understand the fear and anxiety. I've been listening to some meditation before bed which has actually seemed to help a bit (and I'm a high-strung Type A so it takes a lot for me to actually be able to chill). Not that I wish illness on anyone, but hopefully you feel all the symptoms soon which will help quell the anxiety until first u/s
@sparkymcgeee I'm sorry you're having a rough go today. FX for a great beta! (And no, you're not the only one checking TP...)
@BitterBetty12 Good news about seeing the gestational sac! Sorry you have to worry about the SCH. Hopefully it resolves itself quickly and doesn't cause you any added stress. So annoying about the accident!
@zamora_spin Honestly, your progesterone levels do not really seem of concern to me. I'm sure there's a bit of natural fluctuation from day to day, plus a margin of error with the lab testing. I think they're pretty good! I just refilled my Prometrium yesterday and the pharmacy said I owed them $10. I was all confused because my insurance has always covered them 100%. Turns out, my insurance just switched to only covering the generic brand in full. I still had the option to take the Prometrium brand and just pay the difference, which I did.

@zamora_spin I had betas with DD that were AWFUL in week 5, and yet she is now a perfectly healthy 10.5 month old! I think if your last one came back strong, leave it on that good note! I know it's easier said than done though.
ETA: Your progesterone levels are AMAZING. Mine fluctuated between 10-20 in first tri with DD and my OB was completely happy with those numbers!

@tosh24 My insurance covers neither! I pay about $73 OOP for a 30 day supply for the generic. I'm sure the Prometrium will be even more, but at this point I think I'd rather just get the "right" one. @BitterBetty12 Thanks, that is good to know. Sorry about the SCH. Update us when you get your numbers, fx they are looking good. @sparkymcgeee I'm sorry you are having such a rough time today. I know you are in beta hell and that really sucks. I hope today shows good doubling.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5+2, no idea (Sesame seed? Orange seed?)
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically, OK. Which is stressing me out. I only seem to have random, mild nausea and loss of appetite, and other times I feel completely not pregnant except for my sore boobs. Cramping has really let up too. Mentally, meh. I was fine yesterday after I had a great 3rd beta but today I'm back to being terrified and anxious.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? Not right now but I'm sure I'll think of something later.
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? U/S on May 18th. I don't know if I'm necessarily looking forward to it. It will probably trigger my PTSD. DH is coming with me since I'll be such a basket case. I sure hope we see a baby that measures correctly with a great hb.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Being on this BMB and trying to force myself to be all excited like a non-loss mama would be. Getting too caught up in the future does cause me some anxiety, but at the same time it's nice to pretend that I'm ignorant to loss.

My number doubled! Monday it was 25 on 16dp conception. 45 hours later it was 57! So not super high but it more than doubled in less than 48 hours so I'm calling it a win for sure.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5+3 , orange seed
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Still dont feel like im in the game. Its so bizarre... I have noticed that my husband and I arent actually referring to this as a pregnancy. Im not sure i have once said this out loud. I am not sure i actually believe it.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? this time period is just really hard to move through.... i have no clue whats going on in my ute and every moment i feel like it could be over. I am still checking for blood each time i go to the restroom.
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? my first ultrasound has been moved from Tuesday the 15th to Thursday the 17th.... i cant say im looking forward to it... Ultrasounds tend to mean bad news for me.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Nothing is really helping. But im trying to not take my anxiety out on the people around me... that need to "act normal" is actually occupying a big part of my mental functions and keeps me from fully downward spiraling
Kabazaba I can 100% relate to your "How are you feeling"... i dont think we can help the anxiety.... Just know we are here with you feeling it too. Youre not alone!
sparkymcgeee I check the toilet paper every.damn.time. i go... it makes me not want to go and put it off, which is awful.
BitterBetty12 fingers crossed for no bleeding! And hoping the SCH clears up fast!
tosh24 PTSD is so real... so glad your third beta was good!
zamora_spin ugh...so sorry you are having low expectations... even though im doing the exact same thing... I just like to think of myself as the only debbie downer, and i hate for my girls to feel that way too! Its funny, im so good at being hopeful for others
Got my numbers back and they aren’t good. Progesterone was only 6.6 and HCG was somewhere between 2-3k. Hanging out in limbo now, but I have strong feelings about how this will end.

@BitterBetty12 I'm sorry to hear about the progesterone - was that your # from Tuesday when you went to the dr? Of course it's hard to tell from one hCG draw but 2-3k sounds good for where you're at, and if I remember when you went to the dr things seemed on track on your scan? Geeze, I'm sorry for the uncertainty and stress.
@BitterBetty12 I'm going to stay positive for you. I'm 5+4 probably more like 5+2 and I'm going for 1800 at this draw. I feel like 2-3k is still good! I have to admit I know nothing about progesterone though and I know how easy it is to go to that bad head space. keep us updated. What was your last beta at?
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 6w4d
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Mentally I’m doing okay. Physically, I’m exhausted and a bit nauseous. I’m also peeing all the damn time!!!
3. Rants/Raves/Questions? Hormones are a bitch. That is all.
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Looking forward to hearing the heartbeat at our next ultrasound! We saw it today, but I can’t wait to hear it.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? The fact that this pregnancy feels so different from the one that ended in my loss. I actually have symptoms I can use as a reminder that, at least for today, everything is okay. Seeing the heartbeat helps a lot too.

Thanks ladies. This was my draw from yesterday afternoon at my OB after my scan. I don’t have a ton of faith because this is incredibly similar to how my loss before DD started (low progesterone and symptoms loss especially). Since I didn’t have a previous beta you are absolutely correct that that number for HCG COULD be ok. It’s the progesterone that is more of an issue.
I have a scan next Tuesday. And my OB called and asked me to go in for a repeat beta tomorrow. So by Friday I should have slightly more of an idea of what we’re dealing with.

@BitterBetty12 are you on progesterone? Mine is only 7.4 from Monday so I was freaking out about it too. I'm trying to trust the supplement right now. Your HCG number is great. I hope you have a better number tomorrow.
I started crinone last night because of the SCH. I was also on it with DD just for precautionary measures. I’m glad I’m getting tests done tomorrow though at first I wasn’t thrilled. If they’re bad at least I know I’m not hanging out in limbo.

@BitterBetty12 So sorry that progesterone level is low. Hoping it kicks into high gear soon and everything works out fine on Tuesday!
And everyone - thanks for your support. It truly means a lot. I've been thinking of trying to find a counselor. I've had some bad luck with therapists in the past, but recently got a couple recommendations so will try and make an appointment to start working on my issues. UGH WHY CAN'T THIS JUST BE FUN.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 3 weeks 5 days
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Scared, exhausted. 3. Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm almost afraid to go to the bathroom at work. It's almost PTSD like. Time heals all, right? 4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? Got our 2nd beta back 10dpo 14 12dpo 68
Nurse said doctor may want more betas next week, and they'd do an ultrasound once the number was a certain level.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? haven't quite figured that one out.
@bitterbetty12 I'm so sorry your blood draw has caused you to stress. Your HCG doesn't sound bad to me at all for where you are. I know it's only one draw but it seems perfectly reasonable. Once HCG is over 1200 it can take 3-4 days to double, so I hope only going in 2 days since your last beta won't cause more stress because it may not have doubled, which is perfectly normal. My OB said that once they measure an appropriate size gestational sac/fetal pole corresponding to the correct dates, HCG numbers sort of become irrelevant. I think because you had a good scan the other day that development looks to be on track. The low progesterone is no doubt concerning, but hopefully it will come up quickly with suppositories (if you've been prescribed them). Thinking of you and hoping that Friday comes quickly and you get good news to ease your mind. Edited to fix stuff...

@BitterBetty12 Keeping my fingers crossed that the progesterone level is fixed with the crinone and your next beta is good
I was just talking about my first go around compared to now at lunch today. The first time I didn't have any fears. I was in some pain but totally unaware of what could happen. This time around... every visit to my Dr office is triggering. I have to just keep one foot in front of the other.
I'm still waiting to hear back from my Dr office on my beta results and I might actually be losing losing my mind right now
Checking in and seeing a lot of feelings of anxiety and fear. And PTSD, omg yes all the weird internet hugs to everyone and know your are not alone. PTSD can be real after pregnancy loss (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/somatic-psychology/201011/miscarriage-and-post-traumatic-stress-disorder). For me, the only thing that helped me get through (to milestone and past it) was therapy and group therapy along with communities like Still Standing Magazine (https://stillstandingmag.com/) and for any tfmr moms Our Heartbreaking choices. Our hospital referred us to a social worker, grief counselor and a local group for parents of pregnancy lost. It took courage to reach out and grab that hand but it was my lifeline. Good thoughts for everyone.

@dragonette505 I'm the same - I'm optimistic for everyone except for me. Maybe I'll feel differently after the first u/s. @galactickates Sounds like your beta came up perfect and we have the same first u/s date!
PGAL is really hard. I'm not kidding when I say my expectations being low are really helping this time around. I did have a minor breakdown at the pharmacy over the Prometrium yesterday. I explained why I wanted to switch and that made me cry (which I wasn't expecting). Then I learned the Prometrium is $680 OOP for 30 days. The pharmacist was very nice and said he could re-fill with at least a different generic (he said based on the fact I was on this generic for my last loss and I had a slight dip in progesterone I should try to switch to something else) and also that I could try having my dr re-sending the script as Prometrium with no substitutions, so that is what they are doing. I am thinking I will pay the crazy amount but if the prescription is written that way it *should* all go to my deductible, which I know we will hit this year anyway, and I can use our HSA to reimburse myself. Yikes. The pharmacist also said that according to the FDA generics have identical ingredients to their name brand counterparts, but he has seen that some patients respond to some formulations better than others. eta words
zamora_spin I think its a good idea at least switching away from the one you were on last time... hopefully you can get that endometrin covered! I didnt realize it was so expensive! I actually thought the PIO would be more expensive... for me the endometrin is dirt cheap.... I may even have some left (though i have to check...) If is still have some and its not expired, do you want it??
@dragonette505 Ha, that's ok, they sound very similar for sure. I think a lot of people use Prometrium and do not pay this exorbitant amount so it's also possible that when they call it in with no substitutions my insurance will cover some of it. Our plan is a high deductible plan (but the deductible is only a little over $3k) and after you reach the deductible everything that is covered is covered 100% so, I think this year it will be a timing issue more than anything else on meeting it which is why I don't feel super put out if I have to pay a bunch. Last year we were each on our own separate (but very similar) plans and I exceeded my deductible on my own.
Hi Ladies! I just did an intro on the group & joining you here because once PGAL always PGAL!
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 4w5d 2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Some anxiety, but trying my hardest to reign it in! Physically normal except for a lot of pee, insomnia and weird dreams. 3. Rants/Raves/Questions?
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I had 2 sets of labs last week: 10dpo HCG 16.9 P26.9 13dpo HCG 213 P28
I had my first US today and more labs drawn. The RE said he thinks that there may have been a lab error with my second HCG and not to be alarmed if the doubling looks off. They are apparently transitioning to a different testing method or something. Saw a tiny gestational sac on the US today, so for now all looks A-OK. I was nervous about twins because I had 2 follicles and an IUI, but so far looks to be only 1.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Honestly my DD is helping the most and also work is super busy so it makes the days go faster. All my losses were in week 6. The babies would just stop developing. If we can get past that hurdle again I am going to will myself to settle in until the NIPT results & NT scan around 12w. Weekly monitoring at the RE helps too.
1. I’m 6 weeks and 3 days... babys the size of a lentil 2. I feel ok. I’m not having as much nausea so I’m freaking out about that. I’m still tired and my bewbs hurt. 3. No real RRQs.... 4. I’m old (AMA) and fat so I had to a glucose screen super early and I just got the results... I’m 6pts over the max limit I’ve never had a non-WNL result so I’m not sure what the next steps are. 5. With PGAL anxiety, i keep repeating “I’m pregnant right now and I’m thankful and i can not control anything else”... it seems to help. My anxiety pops up more like “if this is a loss will I try again?” Like I have to make a decision right now”
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 4 weeks 3 days- a poppyseed I think?
2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Physically ok. A little crampy yesterday but better today. Mentally as good as can be expected. 3. Rants/Raves/Questions? None at the moment
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to? I had betas this week and my first appointment will be June 5th which feels like forever. As far as milestones go if I make it to week 7 and that first appointment I'll start breathing easier. Both of my losses have been early.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Getting results from the betas this morning. My first draw had my progesterone at a borderline level so I've started a supplement. But my HCG levels increased like they should have so that's encouraging.

@tosh24 Thank you for thinking of me! I'll be calling in a few hours to get the results. I avoided calling last night because I just didn't want to know.
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby? 5 weeks 1 day 2. How are you feeling? Mentally and physically? Bloated and peeing a lot. Having weird dreams. Husband said my boobs look bigger haha. Mentally I’m feeling better than last week, less down, but still not great. I just am completely detached. I’m not even thinking about this actually ending in a baby at this point. 3. Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a beta draw on Wednesday. They called and said the number looked good and that they wanted to schedule a dating ultrasound for the 21st because my periods have been weird. So now I wait for that.
Im also stressed about my husband’s family speculating or asking me next weekend. We have a family party and if I’m not having a drink they are going to speculate. I just want everyone to leave me the f alone and mind their business.
So far I’ve told my best friend, my may 14 group and my sister and her fiancee. I want that to be it until as long as possible.
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to?
Looking forward to my appointment on the 21st. I just need more concrete information.
5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
basically nothing. I’m just trying to go about my days and not think about it as much as possible.
Thursdays numbers (5 + 6) at 9:15am after two nights of crinone Progesterone: 14.5 HCG: 3634
HCG has about a 60 hour doubling time. Which is meh. And it's still pretty low for 5+6.
I am happy my progesterone went up so much but I'm pretty sure that mostly has to do with the crinone (even though it's not supposed to show as much in the blood, it seems crazy for it not to be).

Re: PGAL Check In ~ 5/9-5/16
5+4 and the size of a dot snail.
I was pretty nauseous this morning. I have my third beta in a few hours and I'm so so nervous.
My appointment is at 11:50 this one feels more real for some reason. My number should be around 2000 which means I'm closer to getting my first U/S which is making want to cry because my anxiety is through the roof. I just want top stop time or jump forward. I just want to know everything is ok.
Work. I can't sit at my desk and cry no matter how much I want to right now.

Edited Q1 - apparently I can't count

But im trying to not take my anxiety out on the people around me... that need to "act normal" is actually occupying a big part of my mental functions and keeps me from fully downward spiraling
galactickates Im so glad youre feeling nauseous!!
sparkymcgeee I check the toilet paper every.damn.time. i go... it makes me not want to go and put it off, which is awful.
BitterBetty12 fingers crossed for no bleeding! And hoping the SCH clears up fast!

I'm going to stay positive for you. I'm 5+4 probably more like 5+2 and I'm going for 1800 at this draw. I feel like 2-3k is still good! I have to admit I know nothing about progesterone though and I know how easy it is to go to that bad head space. keep us updated. What was your last beta at?

Yikes. The pharmacist also said that according to the FDA generics have identical ingredients to their name brand counterparts, but he has seen that some patients respond to some formulations better than others. eta words
1. How many weeks are you, and how big is baby?

Some anxiety, but trying my hardest to reign it in! Physically normal except for a lot of pee, insomnia and weird dreams.
3. Rants/Raves/Questions?
4. Next appointment or milestone you are looking forward to?
I had 2 sets of labs last week:
10dpo HCG 16.9 P26.9
13dpo HCG 213 P28

Currently in my second least favorite place - limbo!
Tuesdays numbers (5 + 4) at 2:30pm
Progesterone: 6.9
HCG: 2246
Thursdays numbers (5 + 6) at 9:15am after two nights of crinone
Progesterone: 14.5
HCG: 3634
HCG has about a 60 hour doubling time. Which is meh. And it's still pretty low for 5+6.
I am happy my progesterone went up so much but I'm pretty sure that mostly has to do with the crinone (even though it's not supposed to show as much in the blood, it seems crazy for it not to be).
