So. I caved and bought the Sneak Peak test because I'm not doing any medical testing. It was $60 and I'll find if they babies are both girls (Lord help me) or at least one boy! I won't know for sure until my anatomy scan around 18 weeks. I've got sucker written all over me, lol.

I've never heard of this but I'd love to know early. That would really be the only reason I'd want the NIPT done.

@texas_t I'm looking now...I'm only 7 weeks and change, so I would have to wait at least 3 weeks (?) to find out. But this could be fun for Father's Day. Hmm! (Add me to the list of suckers out there!)

I did the sneak peak test with my last pregnancy and it was correct! I definitely plan on doing it again. I have about a week before I will be far enough along to do it

I only know so early because we did IVF and PGS tested. When I did NIPT for my first pregnancy (AMA at 38), the results took about a week (and a day) to get back (*TW* unfortunately we lost her 2 days after learning she was NIPT “normal” at 11w5d). DH doesn’t want to know till we’d “normally” find out though (whenever that is - maybe 20 weeks?).

So exciting! We should know in about 3 weeks (which sounds insane to me, but I'm psyched.) We're doing genetic blood tests in 1.5 weeks at my 10 week appointment, and last time it took a week to get the results back for genetic stuff and gender. I'm looking forward to it. Both my husband and I *immediately* thought boy when we saw our bean at the first ultrasound, but my symptoms have been reminding me a lot of my DD's pregnancy lately, so who knows?

My insurance won't cover the NIPT, but I'm considering doing it and paying the $300 out of pocket. It would give me some peace of mind, especially since I had a false positive on my quad screen last time. Plus finding out the sex early is a fun bonus. My symptoms are so different than my pregnancy with my son that everyone is telling me that means it's a girl.

My first pregnancy was so calm and nice, wouldn't have even ever known I was pregnant the whole first trimester if it wasn't for the positive pregnancy test. My second pregnancy was COMPLETE opposite. Not one thing in common.
Both are boys.

@asun123 yeah, I don't put much stock in stuff like that. Every pregnancy is different regardless of the sex of the baby.

@texas_t I always see FB adds for it and wondered, I'd totally do it but DH is trying to convince me to be team green..I may cave and buy one and just tell him he can be team green alone.

I just did the test and OMG, I am not good with blood. I had to sit with my head between my legs for a few and now I'm laying down

@texas_t I am diabetic so I am used to pricking my finger for blood all the time. But if I remember the test correctly, the rubber band they have you put around your wrist really makes that blood flow. There was blood everywhere when I did it!

@fancy-nancy Yes, with a lancet. It took me a minute to work up to it, lmao. I would have gotten much husband to do it for me, but there aren't supposed to be makes around!

I so want to be Team Green, but DH wants to find out. We did IVF, but no genetic testing of embryo. I’ll probably end up caving at 20 week ultrasound.

My hubby is mean and won’t let me buy a sneak peek test. He said I have to wait til our anatomy scan. Soooo I’ll just be waiting... impatiently... til sometime in July

We're going to a 4d ultrasound place that also does sneak peak. It has proof that it's 100% accurate so I'm excited to do it in 2 weeks!

@CecilB93 I made a mistake of doing a 3D scan at 19ish weeks pregnant with my son and I was positive he was going to come out missing half of his head

He looked really bad that early on.

We did IVF and then FET so we know and have known since the transfer! (I'm due 12.12.18) My family doesn't know though and it's driving them crazy haha! We are going to do a gender reveal party but are waiting until July 22nd because I want to be showing! Ya know a little bit of normalcy even though we did this through infertility treatments!

We did IVF and FET with PGS so we know that we're having a boy. We have 2 more frozen embryos, one of each sex.

I am one of those who in theory likes being team green but the hubby wants to know, and is really really pulling for a boy. I know after the baby is born he won’t care after he and baby can bond. I also really think some of the gender reveal parties are so freakin’ cute, but I’m thinking in our scenario it’s maybe not the best idea. Everything feels so up in the air!

Regardless, I doubt I can make it the whole duration of pregnancy without knowing, especially since we did NOT get a lot of gender neutral things for DD. Oy. We also did the Cell-free DNA (long story) with DD so I knew very early and kind of wished I hadn’t asked to know.... it was over the phone and kinda nonchalant and impersonal.

@abowls We did IVF and FET too and are also having a boy!! We have 4 more embryos, 3 boys and 1 girl!

@kristah2 I have a feeling I am having a girl too, but it might just be wishful thinking. I don't think we'll find out. I'm afraid I'll be disappointed if I find out it's a boy, but I know I'll be excited once the baby is born no matter what.

I have a feeling we're having a boy (I was right with DS#2), DH is convinced it's a girl. His logic is "we're due for a girl this time" I laughed and redirected him to the local news where a family just had their 14th boy.

He says since this is our last we should have fun with it and be team green. I've agreed for now, but I don't know if I'll be able to hold out.
