@texas_t 7.5 weeks. I'm hoping it was just a wrong measurement or something because it would put me at getting my BFP at 2 weeks 5 days. But who knows. I'm going to focus on being pregnant today and knowing there is nothing I can do. Heart rate was 110 so that is good!
@nerdeebird I hope things go well for you. I mentioned this in the ? thread, but I had my first appointment Friday (5 + 2). Got a call yesterday that my HCG was at 2,455, and they want it at 5,000 before they schedule a dating U/S (which is already scheduled for when I’m 8 weeks), so they wanted me to come in this Friday for another blood test. I called back right away and has to wait over an hour for a call back, and I was panicking the whole time. The nurse said there’s nothing to be concerned about at this point, and I can come in today if I want (96 hours so it should have doubled by now). I’m so nervous, especially since my strongest symptoms have been the sore boobs and lack of appetite, some silent nausea but only actual nausea a few times. I guess the good thing is that we should get information quickly either way so we have a better idea of how things are going.
My viability scan is on Thursday and I am super anxious following some wonky beta results. I've been waiting weeks for this and am so on edge I could puke. I'll be about 7w then.
Thanks @runrinserepeat. I think that knowing I could potentially get bad news as early as tomorrow is the worst part. @wickedtiny good luck with your scan.
My appointment went well today. Baby is measuring 9 weeks, which is three days ahead. OB did not adjust my due date since it was close, so I'm sticking with the Friday ticker change group. The heartbeat was 184. I'll post a photo on the sonogram thread in a few.
Had a great first appointment today! Really put my mind at ease. Baby measuring a day or two ahead but kept the due date. So surreal to see the heartbeat! I also really loved my doctor and the practice seems great. I was surprised at how short the appointment was but I guess this just counted as an initial visit and the real intake visit will be in a few more weeks.
@katem987 I totally feel you on the lack of symptoms. I was really nervous because I’ve almost not felt pregnant at all. I had sore boobs the first couple weeks and was really fatigued but all that faded a week ago. I also have only had a little bit of invisible nausea but nothing substantial. But everything ended up being perfectly fine! So try not to worry! But I know it’s so hard! My doctor didn’t seem the least bit phased by my lack of symptoms.
I had my initial ob appt today. They basically scared the living day lights out of me with all the high risk Ama details .I have an nipt in 2 weeks and next US is in 4 weeks. Also found out my insurance is fully covering everything which made my day.
@GoyaBean913 I’m sure it’s scary, but from what I understand medicine has improved so much that it is less of a concern now. I’m glad your insurance covers everything though!

Thanks. That's what I'm hoping .since I also have a history with pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes, they're anticipating a week 37-38 c section.
@GoyaBean913 even though I was asking the questions, I felt like all the info I got from my OB re:Gestational Diabetes was scary. I didn't like hearing that I'll likely be induced between 38-39 weeks, I didn't like hearing that if my numbers go too high (like way high, so no real concern for me right now) that it increases chances of a miscarriage, but at the same time I'm glad she was 100% honest with me. She did say it could still be a fairly normal pregnancy, just with a few extra appointments and scans as needed, but I'm glad I know what the "risks" are and my chances of being high risk (she feels like I'll be on meds at some point, and I agree since my fasting number just will not go down...)
@GoyaBean913 Some drs really need to learn how to talk to people. Yes, it is important to be honest, but I think you can be gently honest or harshly honest. You probably already knew most of what your dr was saying about AMA, but it can be shocking to hear it all at once, unvarnished, without any perspective. I'm sorry your doctor scared you.
My doctor told me that she'd like to do ultrasounds on me every 4 weeks after 20 weeks. That is their protocol for anyone with Zika exposure, whether or not there is positive test. I STILL have not gotten my results (it's been 4 weeks), but either way she said things will be basically the same for me. They check for head size and brain calcification at these scans (or something like that). Honestly, it seems unnecessary to do so many, so I may not do them all if I test negative, especially since I don't know what knowing something was likely wrong would change for us at that point. If I do test presumptive positive, I'll do all the scans and she'll refer me to a specialist as well. I appreciated how my ob talked to me about this. She did not reassure me or say I didn't have it and everything would be fine. She was honest about what the protocol is, but she was kind and reasonable. When I went to the travel clinic to get tested four weeks ago I was in tears because the nurse there freaked me out so much. She obviously did not know how to talk to an emotional pregnant lady.
@nerdeebird so glad your appointment went well! I did the blood draw yesterday, hopefully will hear back today. Crossing my fingers that the HCG is rising normally.
@katem987 Does your lab have a patient portal online? I get my blood work done through compunet and the results are available online to me before my doctor even sees them. It usually takes a few hours.
@katy0990 they do, they’re not posted. Not even last week’s are. However, I did recently change my last name so that may have something to do with it. I emailed them. thanks for thinking of me, everyone.
Minor appointment update - got in to see my endocrinologist (and my bloodwork got there in time, for anyone following that annoying bitchfest I had yesterday!) and my thyroid levels look really, really good and I can stay on my current dose of medication so far. I have been *really* nervous about my thyroid levels because *TW* I'm right around the time my MMC was confirmed as a loss and my thyroid had suddenly gotten really off track then end TW** so I am very relieved. I have to keep going back every four weeks (which I'm super thankful for, nerves wise) but I'm so happy this appointment went well. Hoping my thyroid stays consistent this whole pregnancy.
