Symptoms 5/1

Re: Symptoms 5/1

  • @laurasauruss I have the same issue re: short fuse and being easily annoyed. I try to just leave the situation or read a book and go to bed earlier. Basically just try to make myself happier lol.

  • 17.4 weeks I am feeling good. I'm getting really tired carrying my baby, hes 20 pounds, around all day long and sleeping is so hard because i toss and turn and cant get comfortable. I'm not eating well im eating junk food all the time. I'm going to start prenatal yoga on Wednesday I'm so excited.
  • @laurasauruss Same here.  I know when I'm being irrational but its like I just cant stop.  I was a hot mess all weekend with emotions and the thing that helped me finally cool down was going for a drive by myself with the windows down (if its warm enough where you are) and just listening to some good music.  (for me it was the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack cuz it has a good mix of everything)..... I felt much better when I got home.
  • 16w1d. After making a conscious effort to drink 80oz of water before I left work for the day, I'm convinced my daily headaches and migraines are due to dehydration. And also the massive knot in my shoulders. I got a massage Sunday and I've been instructed to come back 1 week later because my shoulders were so tense.

Currently laying in a bath trying to sooth my achy low back. My own fault for eschewing the pillow between the knees early this morning!
  • @MissBridg I am having lots of anxiety about my anatomy scan too! It’s two weeks from today, everyone is all like, “oh you’ll get to find out if it’s a boy or girl” and I’m like IDGAF as long as it’s healthy.

    18 weeks today

Feeling much better. I still have the occasional nausea throughout the day, but it’s much better. Just got through treating ANOTHER yeast infection. Pretty sure my body hates me. I take a daily probiotic. Does anyone else have any ideas for keeping them away?

16w5d. Symptom-wise, just a ton of heartburn. I’ve been popping Benadryl like crazy because I live in freaking allergy central and I’m swollen and itchy from whatever is in the air so that’s lots of fun.

Re: not feeling movement...I felt DD at like 18 weeks, DS around 14 weeks, and still haven’t felt this one. Try not to stress too much. Soon enough you’ll feel like they’re using your bladder as a trampoline and ninja kicking your cervix.

I will be 14wks. tomorrow and feeling the best I have in weeks,  as far a nausea and heartburn are concerned. My right hip,  which has given me problems since an accident I had years ago, is super painful with almost every move! I have been getting a few headaches but I know that must be due to dehydration.  I just can't seem to drink enough water throughout the day,  its frustrating.  I am actually getting so sick of water,  but I'm not sure what else I can or should be drinking? I'm getting about 64oz. per day but I know that's just not enough!
  • @sammierose464 no one mentioned where placenta was so it is possible it’s anterior since I didn’t think to ask either. Definitely will ask at next appt.
  • 16 weeks 3 days

@hoping4lilbit yes to sore nipples! So sore and annoying.

I too have been feeling for movements! Tonight I felt something like a bubble popping. Is that gas or possibly baby?

also my back just started aching in the last week- seems to be related to the curve of my spine as I get bigger. Any thoughts on stretches to help this? I’ve been doing prenatal yoga once a week, which I love!

I think you have already tried to change your screenname.  Sometimes you need to log out and then log back in for it to work.
  • @cdepperschmidt thankfully I haven't gotten one yet...but I used to get the on the reg when I was in elementary school/junior high so I know how much they suck. Years of antibiotics were not kind to the lady bits. My mom and I used to proactively get an Rx for a antifungal cream everytime we went on a beach vacation, because wearing swimsuits all day definitely helps you get a YI.

I've been eating yogurt everyday, and take a really strong probiotic I get through my lady doc. (If I'm ever on antibiotics now, I go overboard on the probiotics and yogurt) I almost always wear cotton underwear, and I wear pantiliners so I can throw one out if it gets too..."used".  I also make sure to change out of sweaty workout clothes immediately and I don't wear tight spandex/yoga pants often. If you're already doing those things, well then that sucks and I'm out of suggestions :( good luck and hope it clears up soon!!

  • @j_joy yup, for me, 64 oz doesn't cut it. Gotta be closer to 100 oz consistently to feel ok.
  • @laurasauruss - I’m totally chill and not hormonal- when I am at home alone with the phone and laptop in another room.  B)
  • 15 +6 ..... all the boob sweat. YUMMY. (ugh)

energy is back in full force, which is totally awesome. so is the appetite, which has always been here. sure do wish i could crave veggies and lean protein. gosh.

peeing 85 times every night, which is super. but sleeping has gotten more bearable thanks to my beaba big flopsy pillow which i hated until a week ago.

so yeah! just waiting on feeling this boy git ta movin and shaking!

  • I learned yesterday how much water I really need. I didn't drink as much as normal and while I was meeting with the daycare owner I had intense painful cramps. Similar to what I went to the hospital for last week. More water during the day helped.
  • 14 weeks 4 Days- I had quite a bit of nausea the first trimester which has seemed to have resolved now, but now headaches have kicked in! It seems like they always start after I eat lunch, so afternoons at work are getting tough!
  • I feel like dehydration is a common cause of most of our problems here...it's just so hard to drink 80-100oz of fluids!!

@jemmerjams I started carrying at least one 32oz Nalgene bottle with me every where I go several years ago.

Now I have 3 bottles that I keep full and in my office's fridge so that I can drink it all day. Drink at least 8oz an hour, but I usually put away more like 48oz before lunch time.

I also keep one on my bedside table every night.

Might seem like overkill, but I crush water like it's my job due to this system!
  • I aleyas have a 30oz cup with me. I aim to drink 2 of them by the end of the work day and at least one at home.

I'm also now doing a glass of Pedialyte daily.
  • Same with the water bottle. I carry the 32 oz everywhere, and aim to drink 2+ before the end of the work day, and more at home afterward. Some days its easier than others to do. And weekends sometimes it's hard because I don't have that pace from the work day.
  • slizteesliztee member
Yep, agreed, weekends are more challenging.
  • I carry a 16oz cup, and try to drink 4-5 during the day and on in the evening. I usually also have some soy milk in the morning and cow’s milk at night.  The bigger bottles just make me self conscious.

Weekends are definitely harder.  Although, since I have been consciously tracking and increasing my intake, I’ve noticed that I am successfully drinking more on the weekend, just still 10-20oz less than on weekdays.

Ugh, feeling breathless and achy  this morning.  :/  I'm literally not doing anything, just sitting on the couch and I feel out of breath. If I get up and walk I get kinda lightheaded.

ETA: I should try drinking, I'm probably dehydrated.

  • @coffee-saur - If it continues, you should probably call your doctor.  Low blood pressure can also cause similar symptoms, I think.
  • @coffee-saur i was super light headed and dizzy Monday (probaby from my weekend dehydration) and so I chugged 25 oz in my first meeting. Helped a lot. But yeah, if drinking water doesn't help, call your doctor.

Hah we are all the same with our water bottles! I have a 16 oz at my desk and try to drink 2 before and 2 after lunch. I've failed and only had 1 this morning, and shocker my headache is stronger.
  • Thanks @knottieamusements and @jemmerjams! I know I don't drink enough. I'm terrible at drinking water cuz it tastes funny to me. I try and drink as much as I can hack as often as I can, but I know I fall short.

  • @knottieamusements I walk around with a giant 48 oz water bottle- I have for like 5 or 6 years. I have definitely had some stares because of its size, but I never gave a F. Its the bestttttt
  • I used to love water but now it needs something. I have made tea and chilled it, make a light version of lemonade, use mio or crystal light - I know they have junk in them but if it helps me stay hydrated and off headache meds I figure it is a good thing.
  • I cannot drink water without lemon. I drink lots of water all day, but yeah needs to have lemon or at least some lemon juice!
  • My boobs are so itchy I literally can’t sleep. I woke up today with scratches on my chest I did while asleep. I’m slathering myself in lanolin and other creams. What else can i be doing??
  • @HoosOnFirst If it’s dry skin, you can skip washing the whole area.  Soaps and body washes dry out your skin, so just use water there and then put lotion on immediately after getting out of the shower, before your skin feels completely dry.

@HoosOnFirst I’ve found out hot water feels soooo good and relieves the itching temporarily but ends up making it worse. If I shower with cooler water and use baby oil gel (love this stuff) right after instead of just lotion it really helps!
  • Thanks ladies! I made my own hemp oil soap so I’m even using stuff that shouldn’t dry me out, but I think rinsing my chest without any soap will help, and then all the creams and oils in the world on top.

I’m 16w3d, and starting a few days ago the left side of my jaw has been super sore! It hurts to bite down, but doesn’t feel tooth related. Consulted Dr. Google, and looks like this is another fun symptom that some pregnant ladies go through. Could be ligaments relaxing, from what it sounds like. Anyone else experience this? It’s super annoying!
  • @dash83 OMG I’m so glad you mentioned this weird jaw thing! It’s been happening to me this week too (I’ll be 17weeks tomorrow) and it never happened with my first pregnancy. It REALLY hurt the other day...now it is just annoying!

So I have come down with something while at Bahamas. I'm on antibiotics for my shoulder infection and apparently they make my immune system more vulnerable to the common cold or flu. So I must have caught something on the plane. I have a sore throat, sore nasal cavity, aches and pains, and a low grade fever. I'm here for 3 more nights. Should I take some Tylenol to try to break the fever? I'll continue to stay out of the sun (thank God I don't have a burn on top of this fever) any other suggestions?
