I'm going to be seeing one of my best friends and her little tomorrow for breakfast. I'm so excited! I don't think I've seen her in 2 years? I don't know how it's happened but looking forward to reuniting.
We need to pick out paint and grout colors for our bathroom reno, some shade of gray.
I've also been adding a few things to my Amazon registry trying to get my act together. I'm excited to find out if this little is a boy or girl on Monday, then I can get into a better frame of mind for what we really need.
Hoping to finish installing the hardwoods in the nursery this weekend. Also, loving that pregnant me has the ability to sleep past 7am that I am not able to do when I’m not pregnant.
@nlc8424 have fun with your friend and good luck finding tile and grout for the bathroom. Sounds like you are making great progress.
Had another paint night at my sister's, I decided the baby room theme will be hot air balloons! So I made a cool painting to go in there.
We are also currently at the hardware store getting supplies to start the chicken coop!!!
I found a helmet for DD that I'm actually happy with. It said 5+ and she's only 2 but I can get it to fit snugly so I'm just going with it. I can't wait to give her a bike for her birthday!!!!
Oh I also went to the spring meeting for the curling club and it was super poorly organized and took two hours. I had to tell myself to keep quiet and not volunteer for anything more because I don't have time. Bonus though, I found someone to help me run the golf outing!
@EErin86 that’s what theme we are doing too!! I decided when I was about 7 weeks. About a week after I decided my mom and aunt were cleaning my grandparents house and they found this embroidery art my great grandmother did that’s hot air balloons. My aunt told my mom I had to have it for the nursery, and I absolutely love it!
Today the weather is nice and tomorrow is os supposed to rain so we are finishing up outside spring work. I’m working on transplanting violets that grow rogue from one old flower bed to form an edge along the new flowerbed I’ve been working on the last few years. Over the past few summers, I’ve managed to edge almost all the beds and house w rogue violets. They make a nice border and save weed wacking plus hitting them w the mower is harmless so dh is a fan.
I’ll post a pic when today is done, I’m super proud of my perennial bed. When we moved in everything was so overgrown it was a disaster. There was no recovering the original layout so I started fresh moving what was existing to where I wanted it and someday we’ll till in the old spaces and make them lawn.
Enjoy your activities ladies! I love the idea of a hot air balloon theme!

Ooh! Love the hot air balloons idea, and the heirlooms too! We're doing more woodland-ish, but I do have a hot air balloon mobile in mind, ...bc hot air balloons! :D Lol
Im at the mall, about to return a few things i got from motherhood / destination. Going to exchange one for a smaller size, and get another top I liked in a second color. We'll see if there's anything that jumps out at me, I feel like trying on, but it's just so beautiful out, I definitely don't want to get sucked indoors at the mall all day! Looking forward to getting home and making some progress on our spring cleaning / bedroom rearrangements this weekend...
@nlc8424 Aww have fun at breakfast! @EErin86 This is me at every meeting! I say yes to too much stuff then feel overwhelmed, so I told myself no new commitments until mid-next year. I love that theme, too! I got a really sweet hot air balloon print from Etsy that we used in DD’s room and loved it.
MH made us a delicious pancake breakfast and we have been purging all the things from our house today. He’s already taken about four big boxes and six trash bags to Goodwill and is planning to make another trip soon. DD also helped me go through her newborn and 0-3M clothes and we pulled out all the neutral things for her little brother. I think we’re going to take her to the lake to feed the ducks later this afternoon. The weather is beautiful this weekend!

@jhjocelyn Can't wait to see pics of your garden! I'm hoping some of the hardy, creeping plants we planted in March will do well in our bed. We needed something low maintenance.
@businesswife Sounds like a productive day/weekend! Hope you're able to find what you're looking for at Motherhood.
@southernlady07 Aw that's so cute that your DD helped go through the clothes. What a good big sister!
We de-staged 1.5 houses today before my hips quit. I'll have to go back to the last house again in a few days to finish. But now I'm home stretching my hips out while enjoying a frappucino and mindless t.v. We're going to see the new Avengers movie tonight! Actual footage of my H on his way to the theater.
Done for today!! *Total AW post* When we moved in this was an awkward patch of lawn between a hemlock and lilac hedge... it’s taken about 6 years off effort amidst having dd, and keeping a veggie garden to get it to now. This is the best it’s ever been, it’s nothing professional, I did it as cheap as possible using plants and rocks from the property. It’s still super grassy, but it’s my creation. All mine. It’s honestly a little too big to keep up with, but I love it anyways.

@jhjocelyn wow cool! Today I helped DH get the coop floor built. It's 12'x12' raised 2' of the ground. I will eventually post pictures when it looks like more than an elevated dance floor.
DD wore me out. We played outside, walked through the woods, and took a walk down the street. I don't think I will be moving from the couch the rest of the day
I love the hot air balloons themes! So cute! We’re probably going to do a coral reef / under the sea theme, since DH’s coral reef tank is his prized possession and hobby. Also I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy that octopus pillow from target, the pillowfort one with all the arms lol.
We checked out a daycare this morning and I’m pretty happy with it and ready to decide, but DH seemed disappointed. His only view of daycares is from tv and movies, and I think bc of the price and where we live, he expected it would be some kind of upscale, sleek facility with flat screens on the walls and gleaming chrome everywhere. Sorry babe, that doesn’t exist in real life lol.
OH and! Dh took dd to the hardware store ALONE, while I kept working. He is great w her and stays home w her all the time, but I can count on one hand the number of times he has taken her out by himself. ‘Cause, ya know, the cf, + germs are everywhere, and it’s scary and risky, and rare that he would need to bother. I’m all for it though because once this new baby is here she is gonna need all the 1:1 he can gi e her.

@jhjocelyn I love the shape of your beds! I love flower beds!
@EErin86 yay for getting the chicken coop dance floor done today!! When are you hoping to have it finished by and get your chickens?
@ashh2018 maybe if he sees a couple more it will reset his expectations.
@SkilledSailor hope you enjoy the movie!! Strange question, but where do you store your furniture that is not currently in use for stagings? I was thinking about that the other day. What you do is so fascinating to me. Do you ever have people buying a home you staged that want to purchase some of the items?
@southernlady07 sounds like you had a successful day purging today! It’s great your daughter was able to help you go through her old clothes and help pick what to save for baby brother.
@BusinessWife hope your mall trip was quick and pain free so you could enjoy the pretty weather.
We had a play date with our new(ish) friends and the kids had so much fun! Our kids play together twice a week during the day but we’ve only seen the parents a few times. They’re having a second kid soon too so it will be nice to have someone in the same boat as us (exact same spacing between siblings, theirs are 2 months older than ours). I am so happy to have couple friends with kids nearby. The only problem is DH loved their house and now feels bad about ours, then went on a cleaning/organizing spree at 7:30pm when we should have been getting DD ready for bed.
@jhjocelyn So pretty! Reminds me of the British gardening shows I was watching.
@ashh2018 Maybe have him tour a truly budget daycare to show the difference?
@klj0228 Haha not a weird question. I have three 10x10 storage units, one being climate controlled for the rugs and decor. Occasionally someone wants to buy the furniture but not too often. Usually it's just there to show them that the furniture they already own would fit.
@klj0228 yes, thanks! Still was there longer than I meant to be, but scored the tops I wanted, so that was great! Also found a really nice one I just didn't want to pay full price for, so I may watch for that to go on sale online. ;)
@yosemite2018 @dexnie. Yay!!! 21 weeks today, (FTM), and I have noticed them being much more noticeable as of this past week, too! So wild!
It's day two of coop building! I had to buy some overalls because I was sick of my pants falling down yesterday, DH said I couldn't count them as part of the chicken budget though.
Maybe we can get walls and roof on today, then we still have a bunch of interior work to do. We will probably get chicks around memorial day since we have a weekend trip coming up that I don't want to find a chick sitter for.
Also, wow the autocorrect on the bump app is crazy and likes changing random words earlier in the sentence without me knowing
@ashh2018 I chose a daycare based on how the kids were acting when I toured. There are two right by my office, at one the kids were a little wild and the teacher looked worn out, at the one we went with everyone was sitting nicely listening to story time.
@EErin86 the autocorrect on the bump has been killing me for a few weeks now! It worked fine before but it's like whatever they did to add and then remove all those ads made their autocorrect lose its mind!
Speaking of LOs moving. Any tips to get them out of your ribs? This guy is active and has moved around a bit but today is the first time his been up in my ribcage. I read about cold cups of water and downward dog (although that doesn't make sense to me).
@eerin86 Hope the chicken coop is coming along well! Sounds like quite the project.
So breakfast was going well until DS decided he was done eating and he saw someone who looked like one of his nana's and wanted to get down and go see her. He was pretty much in full melt down mode from that point on and we had to leave shortly after that. But it was really great to talk to my friend, even briefly since old friends are worth spending any time you can with. Luckily she totally understood and told me not to worry about it, it easily could have been her guy throwing a fit. Breakfast was yummy and we all ate well! I guess that's what really matters when you're 20 weeks pregnant .
@dexnie I had an anterior placenta too and it stinks 1. because I can't feel the kicks as much and 2. I used to have placenta previa but now it's over my c-section scar and my OB won't let me go for my third vbac if it doesn't see moving up. Fingers crossed! Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling kicks! I'm 21+ and I love feeling the movement.
@SkilledSailor, I think baby in your ribs is just part of the deal, sadly. My last was 10 lbs 13oz and since I'm not quite 5'4", he was everywhere, lol.

and @BusinessWife I hope you enjoyed your shopping trip. I had a Sept 2016 baby so I definitely could make it through this pregnancy without any shopping, but I want to get a few fun summer dresses.
DD1 6.2011 DD2 4.2013 - vbac DS1 9.2016 - vbac, team green Baby #4 due 9.2018
@crispy11 Haha good point. I'm only 5'2" and he was measuring large at the AS. I guess I figured the up in the ribcage feeling wouldn't come till later. But you're right. Big baby and short mama probably makes it happen sooner. Also, should totally get yourself a couple of dresses! It's been two years, treat yourself!
I've been distant on here lately with both a flu and pneumonia scare, in addition to the sickness I had been having. DH had the flu a week and half ago. He was isolated in another area of the house and yet, I still came down sick. My doctors have just ruled it as allergies now and to stay medicated and hydrated.
@SkilledSailor so to get DD to move around last time I would drink chocolate milk, and by move I mean wiggle, I have zero reliable tricks for flipping/shifting.
We got the walls framed! My sister was supposed to come over and occupy DD this afternoon but that didn't happen so we didn't get to the roof. Also I took a 1 mile walk pushing DD in the stroller. All of this means a nice relax in the tub for me!
@EErin86 ooooo!!! Big fancy coop! Mine's so small and ghetto rigged by comparison. Our yard is small so it's tucked in between a shed and a fence. Thankfully the chickens have no access to Pinterest and they don't judge me, lol. They just care if I feed them I'm so excited to see your coop when it's all finished! Will your chickens free range or will you have a fenced in run for them?
@stothi we built it with enough room to have some layers as well as meat birds. We will build a run for them since I'm pretty sure if they flew in with the dogs they wouldn't last very long
Crazy freaking weekend. After Friday dealing with dog toe, and working that night,Saturday was wedding dress shopping for my best friend (she found one!), TW nausea moms look away! son had a random vomit episode just after getting home (thankfully I got him to bathroom sink in time, but toilet was closed so no hope for that). We assumed it was a virus, but thankfully NOPE! One time thing. TW END.
Big family birthday party with homemade waffles and dinner all day today for husband's Uncle.
Good, but crazy weekend.
