1. When is your EDD/how far along? 12/9 so about 7 weeks and 3 days or at least I am until I have my first ultrasound next week 2. Any appointments this week? nope. Ultrasound next week then DR appt the week after 3. Symptoms? nausea in the afternoon. A bit moody for sure too 4. Any questions/concerns/etc? eh. Not this time. 5. GTKY: Who does your child/ren take after? DS is almost 18 months. He has some of my looks but is calm like his dad sometimes. lol Hard to say so far but I think he's a lot like his dad

@sunnysided My son is 2 and we plan on telling him next weekend (almost 6 weeks) if my ultrasound goes well. We also plan on telling my IL’s that weekend. They watch him a few days each week, so we don’t want to wait too long after we tell DS because he will probably mention it to them.
1. When is your EDD/how far along? 12/5 currently 8w1d
2. Any appointments this week? Went in for a emergency sono yesterday due to bleeding and got diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage. I relieved to finally have an answer to why I keep bleeding/spotting and I am hoping this will resolve itself soon!
3. Symptoms? Nausea comes and goes, but other than that I am just so tired. 9:30 is my new bedtime!
4. Any questions/concerns/etc? Not at this moment!
5. GTKY: Who does your child/ren take after? DD is only 14 months so I think it is too soon to tell, however she gets this mad face and fusses if I don't let her do something (like climb on the couch, for example) and my dad says that it reminds him of me as a baby. As far as looks go she could be DH's twin!
@kristah2 I have the same problem as you. DD will be 21 months when this baby is born, and my the time baby is ready for a crib I'm not sure the DD will be ready to give hers up. At the same time, I hate to buy another crib that's really only going to be used for a few months, but I think that's the lesser of two evils.
@pensivecrayon That is great about your son, it must be so reassuring for you! Current items on my list are a bigger diaper bag, double umbrella stroller, 2nd baby monitor, 2 more car seats (for later, after baby grows out of infant seat), and possible another crib. Also new nipples for bottles and if it's a boy, clothes. And actually the double umbrella isn't really necessary (I have the baby jogger that converts to a double) but I just think it would be nice to have.
@maebyemby My highchair has a newborn seat and it was really ended up being one of our most utilized items, I would highly recommend if you can get one!
@gracie4400 I’m just lurking in this thread (because I read all of them), but I wanted to share my experience. I have a good double for really going anywhere (city mini elite - it’s an older model but awesome - I upgraded to foam wheels which was an awesome decision). I have a single umbrella stroller. Usually my big is sitting in it and I’m just carrying the baby! Now that we will have a 3rd I may consider a double umbrella because my double doesn’t fit in my trunk and won’t fit with a 3rd row if I upgrade cars. So I’ll again be holding baby and putting the bigs in the stroller. Lol
@texas_tI saw you found out you are expecting twins! I received that shock my second time around - I know exactly where you are at. Let me know if I can help with any questions. My oldest was 2.5 when they were born. When is your EDD/how far along? 12/19 6w1d
2. Any appointments this week? None this week.
3. Symptoms? Not many - sore breasts and occasional, very brief periods of nausea. My first two pregnancies I felt horrible by now, so I'm trying to be thankful for the lack of symptoms and I hope it lasts! 4. Any questions/concerns/etc? None right now.
5. GTKY: Who does your child/ren take after? DS 1 takes after me, although he does have a bit of DH in him. DS 2 & DS 3 are all DH.
@gracie4400 Is it the City Select? I was looking into that because it says it can take a Britax carset. With 2 infant seats on the city, I can add a glider board for my 3 year old. How have you liked it?
@texas_t yes it's the city select and I absolutely love it! It fits most car seat brands (I have a graco and it fit perfectly), it maneuvers nice, it has generous under-seat storage. Seriously you'd think I make a commission off them from the way I talk about them but I truly have no complaints!
@activebaby that's a good point about the umbrella stroller. I think it would be something that I'd wait to see if I am really missing it/wished I had it and then would maybe make the purchase, unless I found a good sale on one because I can't pass up a bargain lol.
1. When is your EDD/how far along? EDD December 24th/ 5w3d
2. Any appointments this week? Nope, first appointment isn't until May 22nd
3. Symptoms? Sore boobs, light cramping
4. Any questions/concerns/etc? I've heard second pregnancies tend to show earlier than the first, maybe we'll just wait until a little bump comes out to announce it to friends and family Definitely at the end of the 1st trimester or beginning of the 2nd.
5. GTKY: Who does your child/ren take after? DS looks like my clone and personality-wise I think is half and half.
@gracie4400 It was pretty much gone and then it seemed to start up again today for some reason. Bleh. I already have a us scheduled for tomorrow so just hoping for good results.
@texas_t I second what @gracie4400 said. We have only used our City select as a single stroller, but we love it. I love that it has rubber wheels and is easy to maneuver and store. I can unfold/fold it quickly and easily. The car seat adapters are great. We also like the adjustable handle since DH is over a foot taller than I am. The basket is also super roomy and I have stored tons of groceries in it. We actually got it during a promotion where we got the second seat kit free for buying the stroller.
@texas_t you won't be disappointed! Keep an eye on amazon for sales - I ended up getting the second seat on amazon a few months back for 50% off (This was before we even started trying for a second, but I as I mentioned earlier I can't pass up a bargain).
Soooo late to this and haven't had a chance to read all the responses - boo! This week is kicking my ass!
1. When is your EDD/how far along? Dec 4th, 8 weeks 3 days!
2. Any appointments this week? I had my first ultrasound and got to see the heartbeat Tuesday, nothing else this week!
3. Symptoms? All of them? Constant nausea, terrible fatigue, moodiness, headaches, my left hip has started hurting already and every single food and drink (including water) sounds disgusting. I am a joy to be around right now, I can assure you.
4. Any questions/concerns/etc? I know I need to start seriously potty training my DD (she has successfully peed on the potty once but that's it and she needs to be potty trained by August for daycare) but I. Just. Can't. I need to wait until I feel at least 10% better before dealing with accidents all over the apartment and having to take her to the potty every 15 min. I also keep going back and forth about whether or not to transition her to a toddler bed before this baby or a few months after, when she's like, 3. I am leaning toward after the baby gets here because she sleeps so well in her crib why mess with a good thing?
5. GTKY: Who does your child/ren take after? She is kind of her own little person, honestly! Looks wise, people say she looks like me, but she has this crown of blonde, curly hair that no one else in the family has and she is so much cuter than either myself or my husband were as kids, haha. Personality wise, she is a FIRECRACKER and hilarious. I'd like to think she gets her goofy sense of humor from me and her fiery side from my husband.
@maureenmce I am sorry you are feeling so crappy. Good luck with potty training. We have been in the trenches of that since last July because I listened to my mom (who thinks all kids should be trained by 18 mos) and started way too early. But, he is finally getting it!
Hi all, my son is 2.5 now and will be over 3 years old once the baby is here. Honestly how my son is going to feel about the baby is my main concern. He is definitely a mommas boy and I feel like I did something wrong by getting pregnant again. I feel like I'm a bad mom to him now since I don't have energy to play with him like I used to and once the baby comes, I will have less energy and time for him. It makes me emotional just thinking about it. I know most kids have siblings but I just don't want him to resent me or the baby.
@ebk20 I have had some similar concerns with my son, but I am focusing on the fact that he will love having a new brother or sister to love and play with. He will gain another person to love, so he isn’t losing anything!
@ebk20@katy0990 same here. DS (also 2) keeps telling us "no baby" or "no baby brother/sister". I'm hoping he'll change his mind once he sees Baby and gets to help me with things, he loves being my little helper! But right now he's not too thrilled lol.
Aweeee. I feel ya there! We've asked DD is she wants a baby brother or sister and it's always a flat "no." Which is funny because she loves other babies. I'm sure she'll come around.
Haha, my daughter (almost 5) is so excited and keeps talking about "our new baby". My son (2.5) just looks at me and then walks away if I try to talk to him about it.
We have not told my son. We are not ready to announce untily ultrasound on Friday and he is VERY chatty. I am afraid that if we tell them he will wind up spilling the beans. I am so excited to be able to talk to him about it though! He is only two, so I don’t expect a big reaction, but I bet I can get him to kiss my belly and talk to the baby.
