Re: Symptoms Week of 4/23

  • I guess I spoke too soon about the achy feeling being gone cuz it came back this afternoon/evening. I didn't even do anything today.
I told DH I was taking him out to the Mexican place for supper. In other words, I'm not making supper tonight.

  • @kathykalen2018 I, too, have had a couple of weeks of really restless nights— waking up every couple of hours!

also, the last couple of days I’ve been feeling sad. Has anyone else experienced this? Trying to figure out if it’s hormonal or just me...
  • @Laumb11 Noooo.. I had bad charley horses in my calves in my third trimester. I'm scared for those. Id wake up being in so much pain feeling like my calves were stuck and wouldn't release. I drink more water than the normal person its not the water either. Please don't happen this time..
  • Fingers crossed for you @rc-cola.  That takes a lot of courage to do, but is one of the things that has to happen to accomplish change.
  • The headaches!

i had a great first tri with very little symptoms. Maybe I’m making up for it now! I’ve had headaches all this week and ended up taking today off for a bad migraine. I used to get them with my pms symptoms which I read can be an indicator of your pregnancy symptoms. My pms migraines would usually last a day and be accompanied by nausea. Looks like I’m getting my first bout of pregnancy nausea! I have the two step prenatal vitamins where you take one on an empty stomach in the Am. Not sure how I’ll keep it down!

I'm having a small bout of saddness this week. I have depression though, so it's not overly surprising. I've also had some small issues with SS's mom this week which I think have triggered some emotional protection. I actually woke up this AM just wanting to cry...
  • DH woke me up by being grumpy, that made me grumpy, and now I am weepy and down and overthinking things. And of course I work this afternoon so I need to be happy and social. Also, birth class tonight. After work I should be over it and back to my chipper self... we will see if DH will be over it.

I've felt pretty good the last couple weeks nausea/MS- wise. The extreme exhaustion, ligament pain, and sore boobs at night are what I've been experiencing lately.

I thought I was completely over my MS, but man the last couple days have been bad. I threw up for the second time in my entire pregnancy last night after dinner- apparently this kid does not want me to eat garlic. I'm hoping it doesn't last too long because I was happy to finally be able to eat a little healthier.

  • Anybody else experiences rly bad dizzy spells? I know its pretty normal but man, seems everytime I get up I need to grab a hold of something to not fall over!
  • @nasalot188 Yep. I also had it with DD. I blacked out a few times with her. I've only blacked out once this time though. My OB with DD wasn't concerned unless I fell on my belly. She just told me to sit down as quickly as possible and wait for it to pass. Super fun.

@sliztee I just went and ordered CeraVe on amazon... praying it works. My flaky skin gets worse every week.

    **tmi warning**
I know we talk about pooping a lot and celebrate it actually happening. Of my last Two BM’s I seem to have bled (like fill up a piece of toilet paper). I know it’s coming from the backend, so I’m sure it’s from hemorrhoids, but never having them before I guess I’m looking for reassurance that this is a thing. It does stop after a couple wipes so I haven’t called my doctor yet. I think the baby aspirin is making the bleeding a bit more intense. Anyone with hemorrhoid bleeding experience?!
  • @cagncoo12

Yes, hemorrhoids can bleed. When mine tear, it is usually jist a few drops of blood.  As much as you are talking about, I’d probably follow up with your doctor.

If you talk to your doctor, they’ll probably put you on glycerin suppositories, maybe a stool softener, and Preparation H (not sure if that is pregnancy safe).

The main thing is to not strain when you poop.  If that is your habit, it can be really hard to break.  Putting your feet up high so you are in more of a squatting position can also help.

  • Yeah that’s what I’ve been feeling too. Sending hugs.
  • Thanks @knottieamusements I didn’t think about putting my feet up. I’ll call my doctor Monday just to make sure all is good, I’ve been at a conference all week out of town... looking forward to getting home!
  • @cagncoo12 my doctor prescribed anusol and it was covered by my health plan. It’s an internal cream that I’ve only used when thins have been bad (I have very occasional blood with wiping if I’m constipated) but it works! Very soothing and it seems to heal things up. Both my midwife and doctor okayed it for use in pregnancy. Not sure if it has a different name in the states.
  • @nasalot188 I’m having dizzy spells too. It sucks.

I’m wearing my Apple Watch more because I noticed when I was walking my HR was in 180’s so I’m keeping an eye on it to see how it changes so I can bring it up to the doctor. During my first visit they asked if my HR was normally so high, I said I was nervous for bloodwork and she wasn’t very concerned.
I was cleaning my laundry room and thought I was going to faint. Got really shaky too. Second time I’ve gotten shaky hands.

Also, emotional rollercoaster over here! I have never been this emotional during pregnancy. I saw a link about a teacher being charged for child pornography, didn’t but even have a chance to think about it, as soon as my eyes saw the news link I was overcome with emotion and bawling. What’s next? Lol

I can’t yell for my dog to come in without feeling like it’s straining my uterus. Same with coughing. Ouch.
  • @ohmotherofboys

I feel you on the feeling like everything is weak after doing a bit of housework. I think I am going to have to start working for 20min, and then sitting for 5min.  I can’t not do laundry, but I also don’t like feeling like sht afterwards.

I also have been getting shaky hands, but I assumed that was stress related rather than pregnancy related, since it is something I’ve had off and on since high school.
  • Thanks @jenchoo I’ll ask my doc about that!

@knottieamusements I’m in my 2nd tri and still don’t feel like doing anything ever unless it’s something other than house work lol. I tend to get shaky when I get bad anxiety which isn’t very often at all but when that happens it’s my entire body that shakes and my teeth could rattle like I’m shivering.

The first time my hands got shaky I definitely wasn’t stressed, the kids were in bed and SO and I were just relaxing. I went to cut some veggies up and my hands started shaking like crazy. Maybe I got up to fast seeing as my HR jumps when I move the slightest bit.
  • Another thing I forgot about, pizza aversion! I never want pizza anymore. It started with just being grossed out that SO was eating pizza in the AM. Now I don’t want it at all. There’s pizza in the fridge from yesterday and I hate opening the fridge because the pepperoni pizza smell is so overwhelming and nasty.
First coffee and now pizza.... really? Two of the best things? Ugh.
  • Just nauseas in the evenings now at just past 14w and still dry heaving or vomiting around bedtime.  I just started getting a weird pain in my pubic bone when I stand up/walk, anyone had this before? It feels like it’s bruised but I haven’t had any accidents or anything that could have caused it.  It feels too early for it to be pressure from the uterus?
  • @babaroni - have you started feeling round ligament pain?  Could it maybe be that?

I took my first diclegis last night, I could tell a difference today!
Edit because my auto correct hates this app.
  • @knottieamusements I have had some round ligament pain, which feels sharp and happens when I move and then stops.  This feels different, but I guess could be different ligaments stretching. It doesn’t go away quickly though, I had it all day today every time I walk across the house the entire time I’m moving.
  • @sammierose464 I'm glad it's working for you!! I've found that for me, it's just best at putting me back to sleep, and that's good enough.
  • Yeah that’s what I’ve been feeling too. Sending hugs.
Yep, random sadness over here as well. I had ppd and ppa with my first lo and I’m off medication for the last year and keeping an eye on it. Also important to bring your partner or a family member in on it so they can help keep an eye out too.
  • I started the prescription prenatal today and threw up immediately. Maybe I can go back to the OTC?
  • This weekend, I started having crazy joint pain in my hip and knee. I was legitimately walking like a lopsided arthritic person, and it was no fun. Definitely don’t remember having this pain so early last time.
  • @sammierose464 Same. I never got energy with Z either. I just want to sleeeeeeeeep.
