I had my first ultrasound on Monday. We thought I was 7 weeks along, but I'm measuring at only 5.
Did anybody else's Dr. offer to terminate their pregnancy when they admitted it was unplanned? As soon as we told her it was an "oops" pregnancy, but that we were still excited, she commented that we "don't have to go through with the pregnancy if we don't want to". It was rather off-putting...
Question: Anyone heard of two sacs but only see one HB? There was the main sac, that clearly had a little bean in it, with a HB and then sort of squished off to the side was another sac...and she couldn't get a clear view of it but then said "Oh im sure its empty!"....which made me more nervous lol. Ive heard of vanishing twins so perhaps this was something like that....
@a_m_swell I had to get my pregnancy confirmed at the student health center of my university to get a ob referral. They did not come out and say I could terminate, but they said something like "what do you plan to do?" It took me a minute to figure out what they meant. I assume because they see lots of scared 18 year olds they normally ask that question. I didn't really mind them asking.
So I had my GD class this afternoon. I'm feeling a lot better about this. They're having me so carb counting, so I'm allowed so many carb servings per meal/snack. I need to really try to pair carbs with a protein because that will help levels from rising too fast/high. They gave me a little cheat sheet showing how much I could eat of certain things and what serving size it's considered, so I was able to enjoy two tacos tonight pretty guilt free!
@CecilB93 Oh I'm so glad the class went well and you're feeling less overwhelmed. I still can't get over how aggressive they're being re: GD, but at least you will have a super healthy pregnancy, so that's awesome!

The registered nurse that led the class said that she'd bet I'm actually type 2 diabetic...I plan to talk more with my OB about that, but that sucks if so...it's just weird because no one in my family is or was diabetic, I didn't have GD with DS, I may be a little overweight but not insanely overweight by any means. I'm hoping that adjusting my diet a little and more exercise will be what I need.
Appointment is in 2 hours. My only symptom, breast tenderness, is pretty much gone so I'm not holding on to much hope at this point.

I had thought that could be a possibility when you originally posted, but I didn’t want to come off as insensitive, especially when you are told scary information. People that hve dm2 aren’t all overweight. I think the education they are giving you could actually be helpful for all of us! Im glad that your rn was a good teacher!
Thank you for all the well wishes ladies. There’s a baby in there! Measuring 4 days behind but they aren’t worried since it’s still within a week of LMP due date. Saw a beautiful HB of 111

I kind of wondered myself. I've always been a SUPER picky eater, but I've been so much better since college. I grew up on cheese pizza, spaghetti, bread, fries...I didn't like meat for the longest time except hotdogs and bologna and chicken nuggets. I now eat meat regularly and incorporate some healthier options (spaghetti squash instead of noodles (sometimes)). I wouldn't be terribly shocked if I end up Type 2, but angry nonetheless. I was shocked when I didn't have GD with my son honestly! But then this time I was shocked I did since I didn't last time. This is probably just the kick in the butt I need to be even healthier, I've been not so great lately so this will help me get back to being better since I really have no choice!

@a_m_swell That would bother me too.
@a_m_swell hmm...I think it's probably more the way she said it that would bother me over her actually suggesting/asking.
