Re: PGAL Check In w/o 4/18

  • 1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc. MMC and d&c 8/2014 followed by a successful pregnancy 8/2015

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up? 7w3d  and ready to get to the 8 week mark

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)?  It depends on the second.  I am right in the midst of the timing of my prior loss and its getting to my head a bit.

    4. Any appointments this week? Monday the 23rd can't come soon enough. Thank the Lord my appointment is at 8:45am.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I've been tired and lazy.

6.GTKY: Do you and your SO have "a song"? My husband and I were long distance when we first started dating and he sent me the song "I Miss You" by The Used.  I ended up walking down the aisle at my wedding to the Vitamin String Quartet version of the song  <3

  • 1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc.
Loss last Oct at about 7 weeks. I have NIR PCOS/annovulatory.

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up?
    5 weeks, 6 days.

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)?
Nothing crazy. My boobs are sore, and I don't have much of an appetite, but that's about it. I know this was discussed last week, but lack of symptoms is giving me some anxiety. I am glad I don't feel like crap, though.

    4. Any appointments this week?
No, my next appt is my u/s on the 30th.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Just trying to get through each day, until my appointment! PGAL brain is the worst. Work will be crazy until October or so, so that should keep me somewhat distracted for a while.

6.GTKY: Do you and your SO have "a song"?
Probably Hard to Concentrate by Red Hot Chili Peppers
  • 1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc.
1 early loss before a successful pregnancy. DD was born 2/2017. I also have a septum in my uterus which makes early loss more of a risk for me than average.

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up?
I would say 6 weeks is a milestone for me. It just feels safe. So I’m waiting on that right now.

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)?
Symptom wise, still very little. Fatigue is what affects me the most for sure. Anxiety is good as I just had an ultrasound yesterday so I’m still feeling relieved from that.

    4. Any appointments this week?
Another appointment in 4/27. Had a good ultrasound yesterday.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Mh and I want to get our house on the market ASAP because we’d like to be in a new house by the time new baby comes. We still need to do a few little projects. I’ve been so tired I haven’t worked on anything during the week and on weekends there always seems to be something else going on. We are both procrastinators so this doesn’t help. I need some motivation!

6.GTKY: Do you and your SO have "a song"?
Our wedding song was Ray Lamontagne “Let it Be Me.” Now it makes me cry every time I hear it.

    1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc.
FTM, almost 35 years old, DH is 34.  Been trying for almost two years, diagnosed with unknown infertility.  BFP following 3rd IUI cycle in 2017 which resulted in a heterotopic pregnancy (one embryo in uterus and one ectopic).  We suffered a missed miscarriage (no symptoms or bleeding) at 8 weeks and required emergency surgery to remove internal bleeding and right fallopian tube.  Both pregnancies were lost.  DH and I completed our first cycle of IVF in April and have received our first two positive beta tests.

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up?
Currently 4 weeks, 3 days along.  Our third beta is today to confirm a continued elevation in our HCG.  First ultrasound should be week of April 30th

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)?
Extremely bloated and slightly more tired.  Following IVF, I came down with OHSS and had to have a fluid aspiration last week.  I have to be on blood thinner injections for up to 12 weeks which are more annoying than anything, as I thought I was done with shots after the IVF cycle LOL. I am still very bloated but the shortness of breath and pain have subsided.

    4. Any appointments this week?
Third beta test was this morning.  Waiting on test results.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Anxiously waiting on the third positive beta so that we can take a deep breath that we have passed that milestone.

  • @texas_t only a few more days till the 23rd! I hope it goes quickly for you, this part is so hard!!
@rosebud332 I felt the same about getting to 6 weeks! Now i feel that way about 10 weeks.
@coco2787 ((Hugs)) keep us posted about the US

    AFM
    1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc.
    1 early loss in dec

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up?
6+2 past my loss(!) and looking forward to every week!

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)?
Pretty good, today. My physical symptoms have been on and off; today mostly off, which is great. I am trying to take the advice that has been given to everyone else that no symptoms is fine and something to cherish instead of letting it freak me out.

    4. Any appointments this week?
Today!!! Not an us, but an intake appt with my OB's PA. I never got to this point in my last pregnancy, so i'm just excited. Assuming she'll be giving me the list of things I can't eat/do (from other threads, i really hope hummus isn't on my list  )

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
not too much to report. I am still trying to decide when to tell my parents/in laws. I will be seeing a group of girlfriends on sunday and it will be hard to hide it from them/a good time to tell them all at once, but I want to make sure we tell our parents first. I also want to wait until after the first us to tell anyone, so i just can't decide what to do haha

6.GTKY: Do you and your SO have "a song"?
I don't really think we do- of course there are a ton that remind me of him but none that i would consider "ours". our first dance at our wedding was to Elvis' "pocket full of rainbows" but that was mostly because I love that song and MH wasn't super interested in helping pick one out lol.

  • @echo-charlietango i saw on another thread that someone was told no for hummus a because of a listeria scare? I dunno but i might selectively not hear that one!
  • @coco2787 Oh wow - keep us posted! Sending you all the good thoughts!
@echo-charlietango I think hummus is on some OB's no lists now because something in the way it's packaged makes it more likely to have listeria? I was telling someone that during my pregnancy with my DD there were like, three hummus related listeria recalls and I always wondered why it wasn't on my no list! (But sounds like it might be now!)
@aeb1116 Oh gosh, so sorry you have to be on blood thinners and that you're dealing with shortness of breath and bloating! Hopefully that subsides soon and you start feeling better!

    1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc.
MMC last fall, suspected at 7 weeks, confirmed at nine weeks, failed medication resulting in D and C in October 2017. Early loss in Feb 2018.

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up?
6 weeks and 5 days! Getting so close to 7 weeks! But my next real milestone is my ultrasound on Tuesday and hopefully (please please please) hearing a heartbeat.

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)?
Well, today I've been feeling pretty ok except I had some water and almost threw up, so...not amazing? This pregnancy is my strangest one because the nausea comes and goes in (sometimes strong!) waves instead of being there all the time. Anxiety wise, every day (and sometimes hour) is different, but for now I'm okay. Just counting the days to the ultrasound.

    4. Any appointments this week?
    Nope, nothing til 4.24's ultrasound.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
Just busy. Work is a trainwreck, but I'm working really hard to keep my anxiety and stress levels low. Too exhausted to have much else going on. Random rant - The internet depresses me lately, but maybe it depresses everyone? Like, I remember when Facebook and Twitter used to be fun and now everything I read makes me want to jump off the nearest tall building. It's partly just the depressing times we live in, but I also feel like everyone is just a dick now? I don't know. Again, random rant not related to anything but maybe made more depressing by the pregnancy hormones!

6.GTKY: Do you and your SO have "a song"?
We walked down the aisle to "Oh My Love" by John Lennon, because we happened to talk about John and Yoko the night we met and my husband thought it was a cool connection. :)

  • @coco2787 Ohh, good luck!!
@rosebud332 So glad your ultrasound went well!  Oh man, that Ray LaMontagne song gets me too.  <3
@aeb1116 I hope your results are good from today's beta!

    1. Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis / conditions surrounding loss, etc. Loss at 8 weeks in February

    2. How far along are you? Any milestones coming up? I'm only 4 + 6 so, I'll be happy when I get past 8 weeks.

    3. How are you feeling (symptom or anxiety wise)? My symptoms are pretty tame thus far.  Minimal breast tenderness and just nausea when I wait too long to eat.  I'm pretty anxious...I've peed on 4 tests since last Thursday.

    4. Any appointments this week? Bah, not til 5/2!

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Nothing too huge, compared to last week with my FIL's health scare.  We just have to build a fence this weekend, instead of the weekend of 4/28, like we had originally planned.

6.GTKY: Do you and your SO have "a song"?  When we first started dating, we loved George Strait "Give it All We Got Tonight" at it was our first dance song.  We also love Conway Twitty "Lay You Down."  :D

Well there was a gestational sac but nothing else.  They aren’t telling me outright it’s not gonna work out but I’m 5w5d so I know there should be something more than that by now.  They did a beta (should have results of that by the end of the day) and I have another ultrasound in a week with my OB but I’m not expecting any miracle.

@texas_t I got my BFP at 9 DPO so I don’t think my dates are off or I implanted late.  There should at least be a yolk sac at this point so it’s hard for me to have much hope  :/
ETA, yes it was a transvaginal ultrasound.

  • Thanks ladies.  I hate this so much.  Beta was 20,000 which I guess is about where it should be.  Doctor says she’s cautiously optimistic, but aren’t they always?  I apparently also have a  subchorionic hematoma but I haven’t had any bleeding.

  • @coco2787 If it makes you feel better at all, doctors aren't always cautiously optimistic. With my MMC things were measuring on track for 6 weeks, but there was no heartbeat and I should have been 7.3 or something like that - my doctor told me there was like, a 1% chance of things being okay. It was devastating, of course, to hear that, and we still held out hope for that 1 percent, but with your good numbers and your doctor being cautiously optimistic, I do think those are reasons to hope!
  • @coco2787- I was going to echo @maureenmce. I would say drs are even more cautious with their optimism than the rest of us. Hopefully you just have a slow grower in there and the next week is a growth spurt!
  • Oh @coco2787 I’m so sorry you’re in this limbo space. But I agree with others...I feel like if a doctor says she’s cautiously optimistic, that’s enough to hold onto hope. And your beta was good. Bodies are weird and no one follows an exact science. Please take care of yourself and come vent to us when you need to. It sucks to have to wait. I’m so sorry. <3 Keep us posted.
  • So my intake appt today was pretty boring, but they did schedule me for a viability/dating ultrasound tomorrow afternoon. I was shocked that it's so early (6+3ish) but I am excited and very anxious. My first/last us was in the er during my mc and there was nothing to see. Hoping for better result tomorrow.
