  • I cannot stay focused today. I’m sitting here trying to eat lunch, but I’m not feeling so great. I’m hoping I’ll feel better once I’ve eaten. I’m going back upstairs to my office and I hope I can be productive. I got a few things done this morning, so I haven’t been unproductive. I’m just used to multitasking very well...and well I’m so distracted today.
  • @Activebaby oh i feel you! I cannot get my stuff together today. My job (Sign language interpreter) is obviously very performance based and not something i can really fake. Every time i go back to my office all i can do is sit there and have a snack. Thank goodness i only have like 2 more weeks of work. I feel like i'm going to have to spill the beans soon.

AFM, not a ton going on this week, but the weather is gross and all i want to do is nap!
  • I'm dog sitting for my parents this week while they're on vacation. Their dog is 15 years old and she's been having a good amount of seizures lately. She's on medication which has been managing them really well, but I'm petrified she's going to have one this week or that something worse will happen! At least she has my dog for company and it's only for a week!

My dog has been on meds for seizures for a few months now, and it's really been amazing how well they work. For a while we tried weaning him off, because they also make him fat and lazy, and he had another seizure. So back up to full dose and make sure we don't forget, and he's fine. I hope your parents' dog makes it through - they're scary, and there's not much you can do for them during or after :(

  • @Activebaby and @morgantu I feel you guys on not focussing well. I've been in such a haze this morning! I was half tempted to nap in my car during lunch, but decided against it. I'm just hoping this afternoon goes quickly.

Tonight I'm going out to dinner at a restaurant called Margarita's with some girl friends. One of them is back in town from Ohio and we're all meeting up to see her! They're all old coworkers (technically still coworkers, but different branch) so I'm excited to have all of us together again. I still haven't decided if I plan to just tell them or try to hide the pregnancy, it'll probably come out at some point if I'm not ordering alcohol. I honestly don't mind, I just don't want to take any spotlight away from the other girl who's back in town, she's bringing her new husband along so we can all meet him, so it's kind of all about them in a way.

I'm having the same issues today with focusing and just generally not feeling well at all.  Luckily, I work for my dad and he knows I'm pregnant, so around 11 I just told him I was going home to work for the rest of the day.   Promptly came home and laid in bed for about an hour and just cried for absolutely no reason.  I feel a little better and now I'm TRYING to get some work done so I didn't waste the day entirely.

@runrinserepeat That reminds me I need to do the same thing!  It's snowing here today as well, but nothing on the ground.  All I want to do is sit in the sun and drink a slushie by the pool.

The perks of me not being a coffee drinker  :D Not sure if I could lie though if someone directly asked me!

  • @runrinserepeat AHHH! That's crazy! What would make them ask that, I wonder? I had a similar experience this past weekend. I was at my cousin's wedding on Saturday and my Aunt walked up to me and said "Congratulations!" with a big smile in front of some others (we haven't told anyone except for the grandparents, yet).  I looked at her for a good 5 seconds unsure of what to say, thinking "how does she know?" And I finally asked her what for, and it turned out to be something work-related that I had posted on FB earlier in the week! It was definitely awkward and I was on the verge of spilling the beans!

  • @mag1cbeli3ver He was talking about mailing me a hamburger (yeah, um, I don't eat beef, but cool), so I told him I'm already waiting on chocolate in the mail. He told me I needed a hobby and it couldn't be chocolate because I weigh 85lbs (eyeroll, and not even close to true), so I told him about the $30 of chocolate I picked up at 70% at Target after Easter. Which led to that question, so... This is someone who works at a different site, so I don't ever see him. It's gonna be so awkward when I have to be all, "yeah, remember when you thought I might be pregnant? You were right!"

  • Me three on the shower thing! You know, I never had trouble taking regular showers when A was a newborn because he was so chill and would just watch me from his Boppy. But these days I just get so caught up in everything that I tend to stretch longer than I would prefer between showers.

  • @CecilB93 I love titted your comment and pulled up an ad, so, yep. I used to be able to handle the glitchyness of the app without too much problem, but the last few days it has gotten SO much worse. Where’s that pop up  that asks if I want to rate the app. I’m about to tell them about themselves.

    I’m ok, honestly.

We are only 4+2 so we are having our labs tomorrow and will probably tell our parents Friday when my dad get back from a work trip.  We have a daughter who turned 4 in February and have struggled with infertility the entire time... exciting!
  • Apparently no ultrasound for me until 20 weeks! So uh... there's that.

  • @runrinserepeat Wow 20 weeks! I wouldn't change OBs over the heart rate while running thing, but I *might* change over that. It's so long to wait!
  • Usually she does a quick ultrasound at the first appointment and then sends me for a dating u/s. I’m still kinda hoping she’ll just sneak a quick peak? Ahhhh, so long.

I should still get to hear the heartbeat beat on the Doppler though, so at least there’s that.

@maureenmce I'm coming over too! A big fancy salad sounds AMAZING.  I've been eating like absolute garbage because when it's time to eat, the only things i can seem to choke down are, like, boxed mac and cheese and I NEED VEGGIES.  I did manage to eat a big carrot for a snack today so that's a start?

  • @hkom and @texas_t Y'all are encouraging me when you should be discouraging me, lol. But yes, come on over for dinner. These salads are gooooood. (They're also like $13 a pound - yikes - but...I still really, really want one.)
  • @maureenmce Girl, you’re pregnant! We get to eat! ESPECIALLY if it involves veggies. I mean, you’re feeding your baby! (Am I being discouraging yet?  ;) )

First what is going on with all these ads on the app. Bump please fix this!!!
Are they also on the website? I’m going to have to check once the kids are in bed.
Second, I went to Five Guys and a bakery for dinner because h is working tonight and I don’t want to cook. Well turns out I can’t eat it because I’m grossed out by it. I managed to eat a 1/4 if it before gagging. That’s what I get.
ETA: ds1 is loving dinner. Ds2 is just causing destruction.
  • @runrinserepeat 20 weeks is the norm where I live. With BB-1 it felt like an eternity, because I assumed I'd get one between 8-13 weeks like everyone else on my bump board. NEWP.
