Re: Weekend brags 4/14-15
DH has been amazing today, got up early and did dd’s morning routine. I had dreamed last night about stressing over the tomatoes we froze to can on a stormy day this winter and have forgotten about. It’s a crummy weekend weather wise so DH jumped on board and we have roughly 30lbs of tomatoes processed and simmering almost ready to start canning. I’ve helped for about 10 minutes...
And we had company this am, DH cleaned the whole bathroom after they left. He doesn’t like me using the cleaners and doesn’t like Dd being in a germy bathroom, so he’s taken to keeping the one she uses extra clean.
We have our days we drive each other crazy, but today is a good day!

We had a successful day at the High Point Market. Found everything I was looking for and only went a couple hundred over budget H also treated me to new shoes from Off Saks. They're loafers. I officially am an old lady. But with very comfortable feet.
@SkilledSailor Hooray for a successful shopping day! And new shoes! The comfier the better IMO. I have honesty considered getting rid of most of my high heels because I never wear them anymore...
We have had a really productive day. My DD and I ran some errands together while MH cleaned the house. We then made banana oat and morning glory muffins with extra to freeze, went through my DD’s summer wardrobe from last year to see what still fits, cleaned out the cabinets in two bathrooms and had my parents over for dinner. I’m now enjoying a (second) dessert bar my Mom made while watching Knocked Up

This week H and my dad got the new wall put up so we now have a nursery. Yesterday H and I laid hardwood in our new closet and our laying it in our new dressing room today. Can’t wait to post pictures once this remodel is complete. Next weekend we will have to lay the hardwoods in the nursery, but for now I’ll enjoy our room being mostly complete.
@SkilledSailor yay for a successful shopping day! I love getting new shoes, but have kind of given up since apparently my feet grow with each pregnancy.
@southernlady07 I got to bake yesterday too! I made chocolate peanut butter banana bread. Yours is healthier haha. Also on my to do list is to go through DS's clothes and switch out stuff.
@klj0228 I know I mentioned in another thread this week, but it's awesome your H and dad were able to get so much done. Please don't take this the wrong way, but take advantage of being able to be so productive now! With DS at this age the only way to work on big projects is to send him away to the grandparents. I definitely did not realize this the first time around.
The only productive thing we've gotten done this weekend is getting the quote from our neighbor to renovate our hall bath and decide that we're going to go with him and start ASAP. Hopefully today will be more brag worthy.
We are more low key this weekend (last week we had back to back parties which is unusual for us.) DH had clinic yesterday and today we are laying low. Most of the streets are shut down around us because tomorrow is Marathon Monday! Yay! Just got Starbucks and am getting a pedicure. Probably my favorite weekend of the year with all the runners in town and excitement.
We are working on pulling clothes down from the attic, sorting to store / donate / organize what we're keeping out. Started working on my maternity wardrobe, so that will be a good feeling to have everything dealt with properly. All three bedrooms upstairs are switching, so this in the first big step in what is going to be kind of a PITA ordeal, but of course should be really nice once it's all said and done.
Plus dinner preps to make the week hopefully a little more productive in the evenings too. First is slow cooker pork pernil, and then later on, I'll make baked chicken thighs. Gotta get in the headspace to start prepping FREEZER MEALS lol. That can wait till third tri tho...

I get to eat a chicken and broccoli pasty for lunch!!! (Like a pot pie but self contained) I also convinced DD to watch Moana to change things up. I might do some sewing during nap time since it's blizzarding outside.
@BusinessWife it's such a good feeling to go through old clothes to sort and get rid of/donate. Sounds like a big project to get your rooms switched around, but worthwhile in the end.
So far today I have picked up groceries, done a few loads of laundry, cleaned our bathrooms, and picked up the kitchen a bit. I still need to clean/sterilize DS's humidifier.
Rant ahead: H is sick which means the world stops until he gets better, so I doubt much else will get done. He hates that I get so pissy when he's sick, but he's literally been out of bed for all of 30 minutes so far today and it's 12:40. No other adult with children that I know is able to do this, so this is why I get pissy at the first signs of illness.
Today.... I had a slice of pizza for breakfast, another for lunch, and a cookie. I now feel full and sleepy and of course it is just about time for DS to get up from his nap. Oh well.

@BusinessWife we did the sorting, organizing and donating a few weeks ago. I wanted to just keep donating all our stuff until it was down to bare necessities, but H finally said we have space to keep things we don’t have to get rid of everything we own. Random stuff just builds up so easily!
@EErin86 I don’t think I could live somewhere that gets that much snow. Stay in and stay warm today!!
Sounds like a lot of awesome weekends!
Today was DH’s birthday. I had such a crazy week that I didn’t get much done. Yesterday morning I got out early, picked up the gifts I had in mind for him, then relaxed at home until we went out for dinner. Today, I took him out to buy him coral (he has a saltwater fish tank that is his obsession), then we came home and I cooked him dinner AND made a peanut butter pie. I never have energy lately and I’m so glad I got off my ass for him today! And now I’m done, goodnight haha.
@BusinessWife so productive! Seems like all you ladies were extremely productive!
@ashh2018 salt water tanks are so pretty! And happy bday to you DH!
Hope the move goes well @spottedginger
I online shppped for maternity clothing and DD’s spring and summer wardrobe. 2 yrs into this parenting job and I still can never figure out how much of one item (shorts, shirts, etc.) is ideal. I always end up doing wash too much for one thing and tags get left on for another. Parenting fail.
I visited with my sister this weekend who had a baby girl the other month. I was trying to take care of my niece, who was fussy, and DD who all of a sudden wanted my attention.... I almost had a panic stack. I don’t know how people take care of two at once.
All nursery furniture is in the nursery. This LO is inheriting my grandmothers furniture so all we needed was a crib which we picked up Saturday and put together. So yay for being able to put things away as I receive them!
I am super ahead of the game this time....but no complaints here with that!!
