@jemmerjams I’m with you that most old schools chivalry things are just annoying. I’m fully capable of opening my own car door. I don’t need to stand there and wait for you to walk all the way around the car to open my door then sit in the car waiting for you to walk back around to your side. Waste of everyone’s time.

I hate when someone holds the door for me when I'm still 20 feet away. I feel like they are trying to be nice but now I have to rush and run to get there in a reasonable amount of time or I look ungrateful. Half the time I'm in heels or holding a bunch of things and can't run. and then I feel pressured to look like I'm trying lol.

Ahha ditto. There was a comedian.. maybe Lewis ck who said that people who hold doors are one of the rudest people because now you're forced to run and hurry while they are holding the door when what if you just want to take your time? Haha so now I think about that whenever people hold my door for me

@Sailing_Mama I wonder the same thing!  I avoid anything that requires a strapless bra normally since by girls are on the big side, but pregnant?  That's just crazy
  • KFrobKFrob member
@jemmerjams YES!  The peeing would absolutely be an issue on top of the how awkward they look on a pregnant person.

My UO might not be one but it drives me crazy to see training bras and little bras advertised to young girls.. Unless your child is actually developing early which happens there's no need for your flat chested 4th grader to have a "bra" little girls grow up and are sexualized too much as it is but I see that as starting it out that much earlier..
  • Anyone looking for plain clothes for babies and kids, I've actually been really happy with Primary. We've gotten their T-shirt's, onesies, zip hoodies, zip jammies, a dress and polos. I've only had one quality issue and they replaced it immediately without requiring me to send the damaged item back.

@mamabearcj agree, the training bra thing is weird. I had some book when I was younger about my changing body and it mentioned that the training bra was just to train you to get use to wearing one. That being said, they should not be sexualized. Ugh.

@mesamyt I started in 5th grade with a sports type bra because my mom made me, because my nips were showing through. I remember being mortified and afraid to wear too tight shirts because WHAT IF SOMEONE SEES MY BRA LINE?!?!

  • I don’t really think I ever needed a bra. Well, during nursing and up until now, maybe - my nips are always hard.

I’m just bitching about my tiny boobs, don’t mind me.
  • I started wearing a bra in 4th grade, and had DD by 6th. Now they hang out somewhere around a F/G. I’m not going bra-less anytime soon.

  • I blame the bmp gods for allowing that thread to get so crazy.  Not that it was that crazy, but still.  There was no reason for it to stay open as long as it did...

Also, I’m planning to do copy pasta research tonight.  I’m sure that her second response is exactly the same as some other responses I’ve seen...
  • @knottieamusements Agreed. Especially since you ask them to close it! I think we handled it well and we aren't nasty women like she might think.

  • @chyvie - She was a classic troll.  We all know that the bmp gods weild a ban hammer, so we play nice, but she was definitely a classic troll.

And yes, we were not mean to her.  She was just throwing mud to get a reaction.
  • Oh for sure but it was fun sticking up for our group and our rights!

  • +1 for vaccines and probably especially because I see exemptions for religious reasons being abused. Example: this week is exclusion week at work (elementary school) for those who haven’t gotten up to date. One mom is really upset and yells at our nurse, “well, can I just get the dr to sign off for religious reasons?” The nurse politely replies, “well, you can try, but since she had the first round of this shot, I’m not sure the dr will do that.”

Also, I agree that Good Night Moon is odd, but as someone else said, I love that it’s quick!
  • Wait did I miss something again???

Also, embarrassing, but I definitely needed a bra in 5th grade and refused to wear one. God those pictures are awful.
  • @cdepperschmidt - Yup. The party is over.

I seriously wonder if the bmp gods left that One open for as long as they did for their own amusement.
  • @knottieamusements I always missed the fun! I’m especially disappointed now that know how to gif!

Training bras aren’t sexual in any way. I started wearing one in 2nd grade. I was flat as a board but I NEEDED one. My nipples were very visible without one. Every girl is different and I doubt ever girl needs one, but I think advertising them is more about normalizing it than specializing it. I was teased mercilessly by kids and moms alike when I started wearing one.

@krzyriver like I said if you legitimately needed one I understand that being a reason for them being sold, everybody is different and no titty is the same, I guess I mean it more towards mom's who buy them for their little girls who want one because friends have one, or buy them one when they don't need one.
  • @jennybean80 I feel ya! Same boat. Barely fitting in a DD in the 6th grade. Last time I bought a new bra, I believe it was a J size *sigh* I can't even imagine what is going to be like after this one is born.
  • My UO is that I wish my kid actually had MORE toys. We don’t have a ton of extra money and our family doesn’t buy our DS toys. So this winter I’ve felt kind of bad that I don’t more for him to play with. I’m excited for this summer so he can play outside. And I’m going to try to get him something to play with every couple months.
  • @hellopartyof5 I did the same thing!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
  • Lol! I have a 7yo, but that’s it (but I’m 37, I could easily have a kid in 6th grade).

  • I also have always been larger chested. I actually had a breast reduction a year after I finished college. Insurance paid for it, and it was the best thing ever. They've still grown a little since the surgery in 2008, but not nearly what they were. I used to have really bad pain a rashes.
  • @hellopartyof5 bahahaha! I can see where the misunderstanding came from!! But nope, no, nuh-uh. I was 30 when I had my first.
But I have taken care of a 13 year old in labour before :disappointed:
