@megnwingate Hooray! Sounds like the best case it could have been.

@megnwingate UTIs are absolutely terrible, but oh what a relief it is a UTI! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quickly and you’ll be on your way to feeling like your old self!
Back to work after this morning's check-up. Heartbeat sounded nice and strong but otherwise it was a quick one. Stopped by the lab for my AFP draw after I don't know what the phlebotomist did, but even though she got me first stick my arm is hurting and I have a nice bruise. I'd been having such good luck with the ladies at that lab location until now!
Anatomy scan scheduled for May 10!! Not as exciting since we already know baby is a boy, but I'm really looking forward to getting to see him!!!

We had our anatomy scan yesterday and all is well! Yay! We also got my c section scheduled and are officially team August 2018! 8/28 will be the day assuming nothing changes between now and then. It's so surreal knowing the date ahead of time.
I totally want to stay in the September 2018 group if you guys will have me though! Lol!
16w check on Monday, heartbeat sounded fast and strong! AFP bloodwork came back all good. Having lots of low cramping and pulling this pregnancy, had none with DD. Doc says very common in second + pregnancies so that was a relief. Few more weeks until the big 20 week, my anxiety is at a 12/10 this time around for no good reason!
@yankeeinthesouth when is your official due date? I’m due 9/8 but think they may schedule a c-section ahead of time and wondering how far ahead! Honestly, if the birthday is August 31 she’ll be able to go to kindergarten a year earlier than if her birthday is September 1, so I’m hoping for an August birth!
MandyMost September 3rd! They typically schedule them for the 39th but I think it kind of depends on your doctor. August 31st is basically just one day shy for you so you might be able to persuade them!
I totally had the same thought about Kindergarten and all that. It’s kind of nice to be in the position of having a “choice” in the matter.... so much of readiness depends on the kid, you know?
We had our follow up anatomy scan today, which started an hour late. I was annoyed because they didn’t tell us they were running late when I checked in and my mom took an hour of vacation time to come along (she could have worked the whole day and still made it on time). Also I had a full bladder and almost peed my pants. Pregnancy is fun. Anyway, they finally got the photos of the spine they wanted, baby boy is measuring exactly on track, and I have my regular OB appt. next week. Hopefully I will feel some kicks by then!
@yosemite2018 I don't understand why offices can't call if they are running that far behind schedule. I would so appreciate delaying my appointment instead of sitting in the waiting room

I hated being one of the youngest in my grade every year! Always felt like I was doing things last.
Granted my town had different age cut-offs for school and town sports growing up so that didn't help any.

Had a 4 week checkup today. Was relatively quick, heard the heartbeat immediately which was nice since it was hard to find last time. She did say I have gained 11 pounds and that I need to be watching my weight, but not sure I believe that. My home scale says I have gained 8 pounds and I weigh around the same time with no clothes on. Because I was so sick in the first tri I was pretty lazy but I have been active again since starting to feel better. I haven’t gained any weight according to my home scale in 3 weeks. I also had a BM when I got home this morning so that could add to it some.
How in in the world do you watch your weight when you are pregnant? I am not eating really unhealthy as a matter of fact I am eating more vegetables than anything and then fruits are next. I have to eat when I’m hungry I can’t just starve myself. Goodness, she really got me worrying about this.
@klj0228. Ugh, I'm sorry your provider gave you those worries. The last midwife I saw really T'd me off with her weight comments, too! Just keep making healthy choices, stay as active as possible, and trust your body. Is what I say, anyway! ;)
@klj0228 - As long as you continue to make healthy choices, there may not be much you can do. Each woman's body will gain differently as it needs to in order to support the pregnancy. I also find time of day, what I've eaten that day, and what I'm wearing can make a big difference. I always weigh more at an afternoon appt than I would have that same day at a morning appt. I'm sorry she commented on it but I would keep on with your healthy choices and try not to worry too much. If you're feeling better and can add some walking in, that can be good for you too, but I say that from more of a activity is good for you thought line, not a need to walk to lose weight direction.

I agree with everything that @BusinessWife and @DanyTargaryen said. Also, we don’t gain weight in a straight line like a nice graph. Some weeks you may gain several pounds and others you may not gain at all. Maybe you hit a growth spurt and were also carrying several days’ worth of poop. I wouldn’t be concerned.
Thanks @BusinessWife@DanyTargaryen@spottedginger I have started walking again in the last few weeks. Also with all the work we have done on our house this week and shopping with my mom I got well over 13,000 steps a day. Prior to pregnancy I walked/ran 3 miles a day so I’m hoping to get close to that again because I know it is healthy.
@sarah-ruby-21@yosemite2018 ugh! I am so sorry for the long delays, esp when you have to pee... those are the worst! at my last US they were running late and I had no idea what I was in for. When I arrived the receptionist told me" won't be long " what a lie that was LOL. @klj0228 As someone who struggles with some food issues, I have spent some time researching weight gain in pregnancy. I've read that a 10lb ish weight gain is totally normal for this point in pregnancy. I'm no doctor I just found some articles online, but I would trust yourself on this one. If you are making healthy choices and staying active which you are doing I would try not to sweat it. The first time they weighed you was during the first trimester when you barely ate due to extreme sickness so obviously weight would have reflected that.

@sarah-ruby-21 that’s terrible! Did they at least let you do your urine sample while waiting? I understand Drs get behind and emergencies happen, but please tell me so I can decide if I want to wait or just reschedule. My time is important too and time waiting in a Drs office doing nothing is not time well spent.
I do normally take my laptop so I can work while I wait, but I still think it is inconsiderate for a provider’s office to make you wait too long without some communication and giving you options.
@klj0228 I lost 5 pounds first trimester from getting various illnesses, and then gained them back and recently another 4 pounds. I say that only the recent 4 count because the first 5 was just getting back to my baseline. I gained like 80 (eep) pounds last time. I'm gonna be delighted if I can keep it under like 50 this time, but honestly I won't do anything other than try to be reasonable with my eating and go for the occasional walk to meet that "goal." My "trainer" makes me run all over all day and lift 30 pounds over and over so I think he's going to keep me a little skinnier this time just by existing. Toddlers are straight up the most no mercy given personal trainers ever.
@DanyTargaryen I was one of the youngest in my grade and had no issues...in fact, I hit puberty so young anyway I imagine it would have been so much worse if I was the oldest in the grade :-(
