We went to Disney World in late August for our 5th anniversary - sort of a pre TTC trip since we knew we'd start after my Asia work trip in Dec. Disney with drinks and without kids while most kids are already back in school is HIGHLY underrated
We have to watch budget, time off work, and limiting travel due to my blood clot risk (+doc has said no int'l travel, womp) so I'm thinking about a resort on the Oregon coast or one down by Sisters, OR in September. Both areas are just absolutely stunning and tranquil.
We are going to Bahamas for the first week in May. I'm so excited! Can't wait to just veg on a beach and drink mocktails. which is so not like me as I usually like adventure travel.
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
We are supposed to go camping in July, that will probably be as close as I get. However, we will have SS with us. It's our yearly vacation time with him. I'm also not so sure anymore about camping knowing I'll be 7 months pregnant...
We did a babymoon when we started TTC back in August 2016. We went to Portugal for a week and it was great. Went on another babymoon before we started fertility treatment in May 2017 to Croatia. Went on ANOTHER babymoon in November to Morocco before we did our first IVF.
Currently debating going to London for another babymoon now that we are finally KU but not sure if we have already done more than enough moons...lol
Oh my gosh @kiwi2628 your travels sound AMAZING! So many of those places are on my list to see. Did you do any vineyards/wine tasting in Portugal? I heard that is amazing there.
@sammierose464 yes to camping! I just told one of my friends at lunch today to make sure I get out with them, no matter how miserable I may be. Camping in the summer is the best, though I can see it not being the perhaps relaxing vacation you were envisioning...
We went on a road trip from home NH to Florida last summer and stopped in North Carolina to visit family before we got married in October so it was more of a pre honeymoon instead of post lol we talked about maybe going back to nc for the 4th of July to visit a friend but it'll all depend in DHs work schedule! Fingers crossed we get to do something though
@chopchop25 love the Oregon coast! We’re going to Manzanita for a few days in August, which is always gorgeous.
For us, we did a true baby moon before DS was born a few years ago. We went to Spain for that one. This time, since we have DS, we’re not really planning on any big trips. We went away last week with some family, and will be going to the east coast in a few weeks to visit my family, but nothing really planned other than that.
@chyvie I love the Bahamas! I honeymooned there so it always has a special place in my heart. Where are you staying?
Last time, we did three weeks in Europe - France and Germany. I was about 22 weeks then, so it was still manageable to do a ton of sightseeing. Then we did a somewhat last-minute few days in Hawaii for a wedding three months before DS was born. It felt great to just lay around and relax.
This time, we’re probably doing Hawaii again for a week, maybe in June or July I’d guess. There’s an adults-only hotel on Maui that we stayed at a couple years ago - suuuuuper quiet and relaxing. I’m dying to wake up whenever I want and lay around and read all day by the pool.
@pumpkinpancake we are staying at the Meliá Nassau Beach. There wasn't many options when we booked last week. So I'm hope it's good! We aren't the all inclusive type but I just wanted something easy and give us the ability to do nothing!
Me 33 DH 41 TTC since 2016 Due: October 12, 2018 Location: Ontario, Canada
@chopchop25 it's a trip I've taken every year during 4th of July since 2012. It's evolved over the years since DH and I started dating. We go to MI's Upper Peninsula. I used to just stay with my best friend's family. Now we do a few days with them and then venture somewhere else. This year we are taking SS all the way to the tip to see where I went to school. We will also check out Pictured Rocks via boat tour.
When went in a honeymoon/babymoon when pregnant with DD to Paris and Prague. DH surprised me with the trip and it was amazing. This time around we went on a sort of babymoon already to Scotland. *tw* I would have been 12w but it ended w a loss. The trip ended up being a much needed fun time to heal. *end tw*. We might end up taking an in prompt to family trip to Salt Lake City since it looks like the college lacrosse team DH coaches will be heading there for playoffs and we’re thinking about tagging along.
@sammierose464 seeing Pictured Rocks is on my bucket list! My parents just moved to Kalamazoo 2 weeks ago so I'm already looking forward to taking a trip back to MI and seeing all the sights!
ETA - we won't be doing a babymoon. But my H has a work trip and 4 vacations he is going on by himself before baby #2 comes. I was supposed to be going on two of them before we found out I was pregnant, but they are both in September. One is overseas to Belgium and the other is Monterey. I'm still a little salty about it.
We went to Mexico last summer for our 15th anniversary, and wanted to make sure we were 6 months post by the time we did IVF. We won’t travel while I’m pregnant, I’m too high risk to take a chance. Previous 27 week delivery and twins on board makes it a no-go. I doubt we’ll even go out of town after 20ish weeks.
Nothing for DS. Instead we moved across country when I was six months pregnant. Next month we’re getting a cabin up in the mountains for a few days. DS and the dog are coming with, so not much of a baby moon. More just our first and last vacation as a family of three. Just some quality family time having fun with DS before life gets crazy for awhile.
I wouldn't call it a babymoon, b/c the kids and both my parents and DHs parents are coming, but we're going down to OBX in June. We did it last summer too and the summer before was just us and our (at the time) three year old.
We never planned a specific baby moon before our oldest, but looking back, we did take a few trips before getting pregnant with our oldest. We went to Colorado in May and then did our first fertility treatment in July and went New Jersey/New York the second week of our 2WW and found out I was pregnant on our way home from that trip.
Next summer is our 10th wedding anniversary and we will be doing a vacation without kids to celebrate that.
While pregnant with DS we went to San Diego and Belize as a baby moon. This time we don’t have anyone to watch DS so no real “baby moon” we are taking a wknd at the beach so i can run a 10k and in June going to NY but other than that no plans. DH is going to Cabo next week and we were supposed to go but advised by doc not to, so i am staying home
No babymoon for DD (9 years ago) but we did move across the country!
We are actually on my 30th birthday trip/ babymoon right now in Eleuthera, Bahamas! It is heaven. We originally had a trip booked to tulum but you know... Zika. Eleuthera is incredible and will be seeing much more of us!!
me 32 | dh 45
married 11.11.17 mama. epicurean. plant lover. wine enthusiast.
We went to the Dominican Republic in late November and planned to begin trying after that trip. We went on a baby moon to Northern Minnesota last pregnancy. I want to go on one this time, potentially to Maine. Fingers crossed.
We were going to go on 2 week trip to Scotland/London and to see my parents who live abroad in Azerbaijan the first 2 weeks of October as a sort of last hoorah before trying for kids in 2019. Well life had other plans, so I guess we're going to swap time frames and perhaps go travel next year instead! Plus, my parents can come to me now Now our babymoon will probably just be somewhere in the TX hill country where it's easily driveable and perhaps more breezy so I get a brief respite from the TX heat. Going to be interesting doing all that without the wine tasting, but I'm sure it will be great! We're already flying up to OH for a wedding/to see family in July, so I don't really want to have to fly somewhere again within that timeframe. Plus, we want to put our money toward a bigger car for me-the coupe and it's big ass doors have got to go before I get to big to squeeze into my car everyday.
We're taking a cruise to the Bahamas (just the two of us). First alone trip since we had kids 5+ years ago. In August it will be our 10 year anniversary but I'll be too big to travel then so we're doing it early - Memorial Day weekend.
We're also taking a family vacation over Fathers Day down to South Padre Island, but I'm def more excited about the Bahamas.
P.S. Originally we were going to Cabo and then I remembered Zika as I was going to hit the purchase button. Ahh.
Hubby and I did a big trip before TTC. We did an 18 day West Coast Road trip. We started in San Diego and drove up the PCH. Once we got to San Fran- we skipped over to Yosemite for a few days and then cut across Napa Valley, then up to Oregon and and flew back home after spending some time in Seattle. It was amazing. We are from NC and that part of the country is just so beautiful. Even with everything to do in the world, I would absolutely do that again.
When we were preggers with our first, we did a week trip to the Outer Banks, which was super relaxing. I dont think we are doing too much this time, unfortunately. With my job and hubby's job, we are both super busy at different times and then trying to save up all our time for maternity/paternity. One of Hubby's work trips is taking him to Kiawah in SC and we are going to go with him. We extended that stay so he's not working the ENTIRE time. My in-laws are coming with us so it will be nice to have them watch our daughter some while we get some adult time
Our 10 year anniversary is this June, but with everything going on we decided that we'll do a big trip once we have this baby and I feel comfortable leaving both kids for 2 weeks. We've always talked about doing a trip to Europe for our 10 year anniversary and I really dont want to do that pregnant or with a tiny newborn. So we'll do our big trip a little later than planned But that's okay! Our kiddos are worth it.
@sammierose464 seeing Pictured Rocks is on my bucket list! My parents just moved to Kalamazoo 2 weeks ago so I'm already looking forward to taking a trip back to MI and seeing all the sights!
Pictured Rocks are so cool. Kayaking it was probably one of my favorite experiences. Two summers ago DH and I hiked 7 miles round trip to see Castle Rock which was such a cool site and something I've always wanted to do.
I cannot take any time off work so I will be limited to weekend trips. I really want to drive up to Maine and stay overnight. We did a day trip last summer but it was like a 3 hour drive. I would also like to go back to the hotel I got married at which is a bit over an hour away. I love the city and my favorite restaurant is there.
We’ve never done a babymoon before and probably won’t this time either. Before DD2 we thought about going up to his parents cabin alone for a weekend but I didn’t want to leave DD1. My last few weeks of one on one time with my big girl were too important, and I was all emotional and worried I wouldn’t love DD2 as much as her etc. I’m kinda expecting to be a similar emotional wreck leading up to having this munchkin so I’m not planning on any trips. DH and I will have some solo vacations once the kids are bigger.
We’re going on a mini baby moon next week to New Orleans. I have a work conference for a couple of days, and DH is coming to meet up with me for lunch breaks and dinners while I’m there. Very excited for the food, but kind of sad I can’t have any cocktails!
We're going on a cruise to the Bahamas with family in August and have a few local trips planned but the kids. I guess we're having a familymoon.
@DunkinDecaf I'm worried about having any emotional breakout before this LO arrives also. I was really good before DS2 but I think that's because I was able to spend so much time in the summer with DS1.
We didn't do a babymoon for DD because I was on bed rest. This time we have several family trips planned but no solo trips. We just did a week long trip to Florida to visit family and a day in Disney in March. We have a camping/cabin weekend planned for memorial day with our DD and my husbands friends. In June we are taking a beach trip to Virginia beach with my parents and some of my family.
I am thinking of doing an overnight just me and hubby maybe in July. His Bday is July 2 so I might gift that to him. We both work full time so while we enjoy time for just the two of us we don't like leaving DD when we do weekend trips so she usually just comes with us.
Our 5 year anniversary is next March and we always planned to do an adult trip to some where tropical and all inclusive. I am just not sure how I will feel about leaving a 5month old and if my parents will be able to watch both kids for several days.
We are going to Arizona in June for our summer vacation/babymoon. We are spending a few days in Sedona, a few days at the Grand Canyon (our first time woo!!) and then a few days at his parents' timeshare in Phoenix lounging at the pool reading books and drinking mocktails
I am paying off my car loan in August and we are paying off our joint credit card bill next month so we are keeping it on the cheaper side (many thanks to DH's parents for offering us their timeshare). I am with @sliztee and am so excited to finally not owe anyone anythingggg!!
Me: 33 DH: 31 Location: Castle Rock, CO DD: 10.13.18 baby #2 due: 7.14.20
@sarahzett Thank you! And congratulations to you two, also!
The Grand Canyon is every bit amazing as you hear, but I HIGHLY recommend you go to the North Rim. It's just...unbelievable. (Albeit, a very far drive.) I wish we had booked the lodge and stayed at the North Rim for more than just an afternoon. I could have spent the entire 2 weeks there!
ETA: It should be noted that the South Rim is touristy and polluted. It's a pretty hazy (though, still breathtaking), so I recommend venturing around to get better sights, pictures, and time to sit and stare in silence.
We have a trip to Belize planned this summer, if all goes well it will still happen but if not I have travel insurance. 2 year old is coming with though so not totally relaxing We actually did Belize while i was pregnant with DD so it unintentionally became tradition.
Other than that we’re saving up for a month in Europe next summer and are so excited to have both the little ones in tow! We’ve done plenty of traveling before kids, we’re excited for this next chapter of family vacations.

Currently debating going to London for another babymoon now that we are finally KU but not sure if we have already done more than enough moons...lol
I did just have a honeymoon in October (cruise to Aruba, Curacao, St Kitts, and Antigua). So we did have some fun adult time.
And we are going to AZ this weekend, but will spend as much time traveling to and from as we are actually there...
