I have an appointment tonight after work at 5 for just a regular OB check up. The appointment will be with an NP, so they'll just be checking weight, BP, and doppler for baby. I'm hoping it'll be mainly uneventful and hopefully short so I can get home after.
I also have an endocrinologist appointment on Thursday for a check up on my labs (tsh, t3, free t4). So we'll see if I can stay off meds or not. Fingers crossed!
It's not with my OB.... but I do have an appointment this Thursday. It is a follow up appointment with the urologist. Next Wednesday is the big appointment with the OB.
I don't have any appointments for a month!!! I get to go an entire 4 weeks between my "hi, it's all good, bye" appointment I had last week and my next appointment at the very very end of the month. I'm am excited. My next appointment is another "hi, bye, get out," appointment but we will be scheduling my anatomy scan then so I'm looking forward to that. Obviously the dog is injured now though so I'll be taking her to the vet tomorrow because apparently the universe simply can not allow too much time to pass without a member of my household seeing a doctor.
Got to hear heart beat on doppler (plus some kicks!) And scheduled my anatomy scan for the 30th. Also did second tri blood work. Yay for boring appointments!

Oh right, bloodwork. They do the AFP draw sometime 16-18 weeks so I guess I'll probably have to stop by the lab for that after my appt since I'll be past 18 weeks when I go back for my anatomy scan.

I have a regular 4 week checkup Friday. We will probably also schedule my anatomy scan while I am there. Looking forward to hearing the babies heartbeat on doppler while I am there too. If my parents are still in town my mom will get to go with me which would be pretty awesome!
I have my ultrasound (I guess it’s the anatomy scan?) tomorrow and I’m nervous. I still haven’t found a new doctor so I’m sure I’ll end up frustrated and upset with the office staff and NP’s tomorrow, but I want to go in with an open mind and positive thoughts. I’m seeing the doctor and I like her, so I will tell her my concerns. I’m just super nervous to see baby and make sure everything is there where he should be. I’m 19 weeks and I still don’t feel movement which has me a little worried.
@ashh2018 with my first I thought I didn’t feel movement until at the anatomy scan and it was moving around and the tech was like “you felt THAT, right?” And I was like “oh, yeah, I guess I did! I didn’t realize that’s what it was”
Stupid question, and it probably maybe depends on the doctors office - but do they usually do a transvaginal or abdominal US? I can’t imagine if the appt is an hour long that they do it transvaginally...omg I hope not. I could just call but I freaking hate the office staff, as I’ve mentioned lol. I don’t need another receptionist to laugh at my questions.
@ashh2018 They will likely just do an abdominal US at this point in pregnancy. I only had transvaginal US when I was very early (6 weeks and 8 weeks) because it's more difficult to see baby with abdominal US at that point. Good luck, hope all goes well!

@ashh2018 - What @southernlady07 said - at this point it will definitely be abdominal. Typically for pregnancy purposes transvaginal are only used early on when a good view cannot be achieved using abdominal.

Update on why it’s important to speak up! I had posted a while back that I was unhappy with my doctors office bc they were disorganized, unprofessional, the NP’s didn’t make me feel comfortable, etc. I DO like the doctor, so I was hesitant to go elsewhere. Had my anatomy scan (happy to report it went well!) wth the doctor today, and at the end she was talking to me and asking if I had concerns, etc. DH was the one who prompted me to say something, I was going to avoid it as usual. He said “Honey, what about what happened a couple weeks ago and we were upset because no one called you back?” Well, I explained that I had called and it took two days for a call back, came for blood work and no one knew why I was there, etc. She was NOT happy, and she was glad I told her. I felt bad like, telling on people, but she made me feel better. I shouldn’t settle on my care and the care of my baby. My appts will most likely be with her from now on and even though I feel bad and don’t want to get anyone “in trouble”, hopefully things will change for me and other patients.
@ashh2018 Don't feel bad! The staff wasn't behaving or working properly. I'm sure she appreciated that knowledge. If no one spoke up about it, she might never have known and therefore wouldn't be able to fix it. Glad everything went well today!
@ashh2018 you can't get anyone in trouble if they are doing their job right. Only they can get themselves in trouble by not doing as they should. Speak up and don't feel bad one little bit! Glad to hear your anatomy scan went well
I had a midwife check up yesterday, everything is great, and baby is big enough to hear heart beat with a fetoscope too, which is a cool milestone to me. Anatomy scan is with my doc next Monday! Crossing fingers for healthy baby with good organs, and good placenta placement (which is integral to my birth plans).

@ashh2018 I am glad the scan went well! I am also glad you spoke up! I really like the doctors in my practice but cannot stand the medical receptionist at one of the locations. I had a horrible experience with her last year, she yelled at me when I told her I would email my doctor's nurse to try to get an appointment because "she just couldn't seem to find one" I let my doctor know and she made sure they sent me a survey so I could write me comments down. This past year I had to deal with her once, she makes you feel like you are so difficult because of the specific type of appointment the doctor wants, I will no longer go to that location because of her. I still go to the same practice but just avoid that location. Ever since I switched locations I have had fantastic appointments.
@ashh2018 Yay! Good for you! And congrats on the good AS!
@pourmeamocktail Yay to hearing the heartbeat and every milestone. The little milestones keep me going!
I’m really looking forward to my AS. It’s on April 26. I was so nervous at the NT Scan that I didn’t just relax and enjoy seeing the baby jumping around and waving. I learned my lesson. This time, I’m just going to enjoy the show! I will let the doctor tell me if there is anything wrong, but I’m purposely not stressing about what could be wrong. I’m going to have MH take a video of the screen also so we can watch again later.
I had my MW appointment today. Everything looked good. My uterus is right below my belly button, my BP was good, and baby's HR was good. The MW moved up my due date from the 8th to the 5th based on my early ultrasound.

@magnolia209 just a heads up- the anatomy scan (at least in my experience) is a lot different than the nt scan. Mine took 45 min to an hour where they are looking at everything (heart, limbs, brain, kidneys, etc). Also they said we couldn’t film it. However my a/s is with an ultrasound tech and my OB does let me film the u/s at my appointments with her, although those are usually much shorter (3-5 min). I just don’t want you to be disappointed if they don’t let you film it.
I scheduled my follow up a/s for Thursday afternoon so hopefully baby boy will cooperate so they can get good photos of his spine this time. Then I have my regular OB appt next Wednesday which I’m more excited about, as long as she doesn’t make a comment about my crazy amount of weight gain in 3 weeks.
@yosemite2018 Thanks for the heads-up! We are going to try, but will be prepared if they say no. I’m still planning to be present and enjoy getting to see the baby! All I was saying is that I was not fully present during the NT Scan. I was in my head a focusing more on the doctor than on the baby. Good luck to you! I hope they get all of the pictures this time!
@magnolia209 my a/s office offers to record the scan on a dvd for you for like $5!! Ask ahead! It was fun to show family, and this time we’ll bring it home for dd since she wont be coming to the scan. We’re doing an amnio at the same time, I don’t want her there for that. She loves coming to my reg appts though!

Anatomy scan and monthly OB appt is next Monday. Hoping contractions start slowing up I really don’t want to go to the hospital any sooner...
My midwives started me on 500 mg Magnesium supplement and 1000 mg calcium to try to help me last time. It couldn't hurt to ask your doctor if something like that would be safe for you-you're already doing shots, but I don't think doing extra vitamins to help would be a bad idea either as long as your doc thinks it's safe of course.
