@SweetSweetTooth I was on progesterone but stopped at 10 weeks. By 13 weeks you shouldn't need bloodwork since the placenta has usually taken over between weeks 9 and 11 so oral/vaginal progesterone is doing nothing (and oral doesn't do much anyway), but obviously if you have concerns, ask your doctor.
Does anyone have an Amazon Prime Rewards Signature credit card?
My husband and I are considering making the switch from BOA to Amazon (which is actually partnered with Chase bank for the credit card) for the perks. We suspect our Amazon usage will increase after the little one arrives.
Experiences? Their reviews aren't great, but it's impossible to know if the people reviewing are irresponsible with funds or not.
@sliztee We’ve had it since maybe October/November. I do a lot of our shopping on amazon. And I knew we’d be spending a lot in December for DS birthday and the holidays. We only use it on amazon since the other rewards were the same as ones we have on other cards. I don’t even carry it with me. It’s not straight cash back, it’s amazon credit. Which is fine but for some reason I was expecting cash. We pay off all our cards in full each month so I can’t say anything about interest rates.
@kiwi2628@SweetSweetTooth I'm on progesterone too...I asked my OB at my 12 week appt if I should continue, and he was like "it's up to you". Lol. Sooooo I called my normal lady doc since she wrote the Rx for it and asked her (TBD on her response). I've been on progesterone for years because I've always had crap hormones so I'm scared to go off them now.
@SweetSweetTooth last pregnancy, I took it far past 12/13 weeks (just about 2 weeks I believe) and there was nothing said other than that we can stop it now. This time, I'm just shy of 11 weeks, still have probably 2-3 weeks left of this script, and another refill. Last time he had me finish out the script I was on. We should find out stopping date Monday, but they still won't do extra blood work.
I chatted with my Dr and they said they don't do bloodwork to check but could if I would feel more comfortable. Dh was the one concerned and I forgot to tell him.
The past 3 days I've had really light brown discharge that comes and goes. No cramping, no pain, no bleeding. Normal?

@mytrueloves any sex lately? Anything in the vagina can bump the cervix and cause a bit of bleeding. If there is only a small amount it can take a few days to come out, and will be brown. As long as it’s not bright red, heavy, or associated with cramping, you’re likely fine.
@jennybean80 now that I'm thinking about it, it started the day after the last time I had sex. That makes sense. Thanks!

@sliztee we have had the amazon prime card for several months. We pay it off every month and don’t see any downside. My boss had a baby recently and said she used amazon for automatic diaper shipments and almost any baby supply need she has so I can see the rewards being nice for us when we have all those recurring purchases.
Anyone know of any pregnancy safe teeth whitening tricks? I’m MOH in my sister’s wedding next weekend and noticed my teeth are looking a little... not so white.
@ladyofarlington I was about 6 months pregnant w DD when DH I got married. I asked the doctor about the crest white strips and she said they were safe to use. But, of course check with your doctor.
Hello all! So, here's a question: How do you pick a pregnancy pillow? I hear they help with back pain, so I'm thinking of getting one earlier than I originally planned. Any suggestions? What worked well for you?
@elliemak - The pregnancy pillow I bought has not worked for me. I might try it again as I get further along, but right now, I am using a combination of a regular body pillow and two standard size pillows. I’m pretty sure this is totally a personal preference thing.
Does anyone have a good prenatal vitamin recommendations with iron that doesn’t make morning sickness worse? Had my midwife appointment this morning and my iron is low so she wants me to look into switching prenatal or taking a supplement.
@elothair I use rainbow lite prenatals. I recommend taking them at night right before bed to minimize nausea. Even with my minimal nausea I found if I took them during the day it did make me nauseated.
@elothair I was taking the rainbow light prenatal one during my pregnancy with DS and up until like two weeks ago this time. It never made me feel nauseous, and had iron in it. I recently realized though that it didn’t have dha in it, so I switched to a different one to get the dha in my prenatal rather than adding a supplement for that. My new one doesn’t have iron though because it’s a gummy one.
@elothair all the prenatal vitamins with iron make me super nauseous and vomit. I've found that taking an iron supplements (ferrous sulfate 325 mg (with 65 mg of elemental iron) once daily along with my gummy prenatal vitamins is tolerable. So I just bought a stand alone iron supplement and it's just as effective . The only side effect of course being possible constipation and black tarry stools but that's with anything that has iron supplements in it (even the prenatal vitamins with iron).
@nmadjeski they didn't tell me so I came with one anyways . I remember with my first they had me come with a full bladder all the time but this time around they didn't tell me. When I got to my 12 week scan (NT scan) they said yes.
@nmadjeski they asked me to have a full bladder for my 12 weeks scan. @sammierose464 transvaginal u/s they make you empty your bladder for. Otherwise the probe puts pressure on the full bladder and you pee on the tech
@jennybean80 Maybe I have them backward then! I had to get both types a few years ago in the same visit to look for cysts. I remember having to have a full bladder for one and then they had me empty.
@nasalot188 I was always told not to take it. Not sure why though
Mini rant: I LOVED our local Babies R Us, their classes and registry events were the bomb.com and I shopped there a lot. I'm really unhappy about them closing. Which brings me to my question: Where is everyone registering this time around?
I was expecting another transvaginal ultrasound at my 10 week 6 day appointment (because that’s what everything for the last 2 years has been for me) so I went to the bathroom when I got to the office and then they did abdominal. Last pregnancy I was told not to empty my bladder before the abdominal ultrasounds, but they didn’t have any trouble seeing anything this time.
@mrsmartinez16 I am registered at Amazon. I have a babylist registry but I did it just for the box- its private so no one will use it. Amazon has the best prices I have seen. I am also going to register at either BBB or Magic Beans just so people can go to a physical store if they want.

I did not need to have it full for my 12 week.
