@Redpuma119 DS loves to pretend to vacuum and sweep! We got him a mini Dyson (toy) that he'll grab while we vacuum and he comes into our kitchen most days and grabs the broom to sweep. It's adorable and I always tell him good job, wishful thinking that he'll continue haha.
So much for exercise being energizing. At lunch I went to the gym to walk/strength stuff for 20 min and now I'm super tired... Like might just rest my head on my desk for a minute tired
@Redpuma119 I used to work with a lady who told me about them. I always feel like even after sweeping I feel tiny pieces of dirt on the floor. This gets everything up and really makes the floors look fantastic! I am the furthest thing from a neat freak and I only do it a couple times a year, but when I do I feel so good!
I cleaned most of our floors today, still need to do the living room, and mowed half of our next door neighbors yard for them. When H gets home he will finish mowing their yard and I will finish the floors and maybe clean the bathroom. Not sure what has gotten into me, but I have even been cleaning the base boards this week!
@southernlady07 I wore a belly band for 1 day and I hated it! It didn't stay in place and made me feel very constricted. I'm back to yoga pants and dresses with tights!
So this is completely off topic but I got my Amazon welcome baby box and it is awesome!!! I am not hard to please with random free sample stuff but this is awesome....
2 Huggies Little snuggler Diapers 4 Avent breast pads (2 day and 2 night) 1 Avent bottle Seventh Generation Sample box (2 diapers, wash, lotion, laundry detergent) 2 Dreft samples Honest wash and lotion Dove wash Aveeno baby lotion Swaddle Bandana Bib
@asunshinek your swaddle is so cute! Mine is pretty plain, but thankful to have just gotten a box of goodies!
I am really excited for my my parents to get here on Saturday. Looking forward to a week with them and getting to do some baby prep with my mom. I have to keep reminding myself to avoid the gender specific clothes and accessories while shopping with her so as not to give away what we are having. She will definitely be watching for clues.

I'm starting to dig out from the huge pile of paperwork on my desk at work and it's such a relief. I haven't exactly made a ton of progress on my major projects but things are moving in the right direction. I can't wait to have some of these things totally off my plate.
@SkilledSailor cute announcement! Good luck with the AS!
@starla apparently pregnant me loves to clean! If I can ever get this one clean to my liking I will do yours next. I have seriously even been scrubbing the walls and baseboards this week and I scrubbed the grout on my bathroom floor with a toothbrush this morning. I’m starting to think maybe I am going crazy?!
I did get 14,000 steps in today! I haven’t even been wearing my fitbit for a while because I have been so lazy.
@klj0228 Wow you are a rock star! With all my vomiting I have definitely noticed some places in our apartment that are not very clean, but I have done nothing about them.
Today marks 3 years since my aunt passed. Her and I were only 2.5 years apart, we were more like sisters. My next birthday (in just under a month) I'll be older than her for the first time. End TW.
Finally hanging photos now that we've been here since October!

TLDR: Dear today, can you please be over yet? Thanks but no thanks, Spottedginger
Long form: DS woke up for the day and five coming down with something and slobber-snotted in all of my mucus membranes while climbing on top of me like a crazed gorilla. Then we got in a fender bender that the officer decided I am at fault for. Then amidst all the chaos that ensued including calls with insurance and the OB, I realized I have to replace the car seat before my parents arrive to nab DS in the morning. That would be easy if BRU still existed because it was literally on the road between my office and daycare. Instead, I had to miss lunch with a beloved former colleague and drive 24 minutes each way to the closest Buy buy baby. Now, DH is stuck in traffic trying to catch his flight home and might miss the work dinner with my VP that we’ve been planning for months. And it is almost 1 pm. All I’ve eaten is a donut and decaf coffee. Grrr.
In reality, we are so lucky and I am incredibly grateful. We are all healthy and safe. Insurance is being unbelievably easy to work with. The officer didn’t write me a ticket. It is Friday. It is okay. But it has been enough of a day.
@spottedginger That still all blows. Sorry, how irritating.

@spottedginger that's a lot of day to have had already. I hope the rest of the day takes it easy and you can get some good and catch a break. Glad you are all ok.
@spottedginger ah sorry for how crappy of a start you've had today. Car accidents are so stressful and then car seats definitely complicate things. Hope the rest of the day is better.
@spottedginger sorry you have had a rough start to your day. Hoping it starts to get better very soon! Days like today you want to go home and press a restart button.
@pourmeamocktail *hugs* I hope your good memories get a little brighter and the sadness gets a little smaller each year. Losing family is hard and you seem to be in a rough patch of it. I also need to hang photos in our house, thanks for the reminder
@spottedginger yikes that's a tough day! I hope you get some snacks soon and your DH makes it to dinner!
It still won't stop snowing here... Are we beginning the next ice age? Why did no one warn me? Also, my boots are in the car that DH took today so I am wearing dumb slip on shoes.
Y’all. I cannot make this up- a woman came within inches of hitting me as I am parked in my car (in a marked spot in a parking lot, checking my work email one last time before running in to get DS). She parked two aisles over “parked” her car, her friend got out and opened the back door to get her purse. Meanwhile the driver starts looking at her phone and doesn’t realize she is moving at all, let alone fast. Her friend starts hitting the side of the car and I beep my horn. She looked up and casually stopped her car and had zero reaction. None at all. Just parked her car where it stopped and got out. Parents and children are walking by, cars are driving. She literally could have killed someone. Today cannot end fast enough.
@pourmeamocktail - This must be a sad time. I'm sure you miss her. Take care of yourself.
@spottedginger That sounds awful!!! I hope you have a much less eventful evening.
And, my MIL does not speak English (she is lovely, but I'm also very glad there is a language barrier! There are no unexpected calls), but she told my husband to tell me not to bend over - for the whole pregnancy - and he is now very convinced that this is sound advice.
@spottedginger unbelieveable. I hate how so many people are not willing to accept responsibility for their actions. Maybe you need to spend the rest of your day in a bubble proof room lol.
I am so happy it's Friday. My H has to work tomorrow, but my mom offered to come over so I can try to get some stuff done which would be awesome. I am planning on decluttering a couple closets and I can't wait. I find organizing and getting rid of stuff to be so therapeutic. I'll be going through sheets and blankets primarily and plan on donating as much as possible to a local animal shelter.
@magnolia209 <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/jg/1rqhvau9o734.gif" alt=""> My boss said almost the same thing to me the other day. She didn't want me to bend over and pick something up off the floor, so I don't, "squish the baby." I think it's hilarious. I'm pretty sure mother nature thought of that already, but thanks for the warning, MIL!!! :D
@BusinessWife Kevin Malone cracking up is the perfect gif for that! You are very talented!
Meanwhile, I had to measure a whole bunch of things at work today and I totally kept debating whether to bend over or to just make the measuring tape really long, lock it in place and then just lower it to the item and approximate based on that. But, for full disclosure, the real reason I didn’t want to bend over was that my legs are so sore from yoga. Like embarrassingly sore!
We just booked a trip for next month to South Lake Tahoe and we’re pumped! Anyone been before? I have a few questions: Ideas of stuff we can do with a 2yo in tow? Should we bring the sturdy City mini GT stroller or buy an umbrella stroller?
So far we’ve scoped out a kids museum but that’s about it.

@magnolia209 I just laughed out loud not just at your MIL advice but that your husband is pretty convinced it is sounds advice. For every pregnancy rule (except the no alcohol one) he gives me reasons I shouldn’t worry about it too much.
@spottedginger I hope your H made it home safely tonight, in time for your dinner and your dinner was much less eventful than the rest of your day.
@fwtx5815 I have never been to South Lake Tahoe, but my parents have been several times and love it! I hope you guys have a blast!
We we had a surprise birthday party for a friend tonight. She was completely surprised since it’s more than a month before her actual birthday. She was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in February and starts a 6 week stint of week long hospital stays every other week and her last hospital stay ends 3 days before her birthday. We thought this was a great way to celebrate her and the amazing friendship we all have before she starts her heavier treatment. Plus, we don’t know how she will feel at the end of each of these hospital stays.
@fwtx5815 no ideas on Tahoe, but it sounds lovely. Traveling with an umbrella stroller is much easier through the airport etc. We have the 3D Lite and it is very easy and maneuverable. I like that it has recline which many umbrellas don’t.
I had my anatomy scan on Monday and they said it would take 2 days for the doctor to review the images and get back to me. I hadn’t heard back so I messaged my OB this morning and got a message back this afternoon. Everything looked ok but they didn’t get good photos of the spine so I have to go back... which means more time off work, another copay, all for something that will likely take 5 minutes tops. The tech on Monday did say that she couldn’t get great pics due to his position, so I don’t think it’s a sign of anything wrong. I’m just annoyed.
Ugh @yosemite2018. I’m sorry about the inconvenience. I’m already panicking about my lack of vacation time to cover my whole leave, and then all these appointments and such chop away at the hours I do have left. (My own fault for getting pregnant 8 months PP and not letting it build back up!) It’s hard to be a working mom. Glad everything they got the other day looks good!
@yosemite2018 I’m sorry you have to go back and do it again. It would have been nice to know prior to you having to contact the dr that they didn’t get a good look at the spine. Hopefully this time the baby will be in a good position and the appointment won’t take too long!
Channeling anyone and everyone for some input on bathroom/linen storage. In our main hall bath we have a large closet that has a few shelves that go the full length and it has sliding doors. We're basically gutting the whole bathroom and my H and I were talking about removing the closet and putting in some other kind of storage. H suggested cabinets but I'm not sure how I feel about it. It currently holds all of our towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, tablecloths, extra toilet paper, paper towels and a bunch of miscellaneous stuff. So it holds A LOT of stuff and I really don't want to lose the functionality of such a large closet. Any suggestions/photos for inspiration are appreciated!
@knitknitread we could take the door off, but I'm not sure how I feel about having all of that stuff exposed since some of it is crappy/dog only towels. Paint would likely go a long way, but I think we would have to restructure the shelves regardless since there's a funky piece that has no real purpose.
@klj0228 the tech actually did mention that she couldn’t get great pics of the spine but then she got a side pic that she was hoping would be good enough. I guess it wasn’t. If baby doesn’t cooperate this time a 5 min appt could take a lot longer!
