@mrsbubbles-2 I bought a few compression hose on amazon and I really like them. I have kind of bad varicose veins in one thigh (even before pregnancy) so I wear them when I'm on my feet a lot. They're great once you get used to them..
I didn’t experience this with my first two pregnancies, but I’m having awful carpal tunnel at night. I wake up with two numb hands at least 10 times every night and it’s driving me CRAZY.
@F47 Sounds like you need some stiff wrist splints to sleep in. I used them for a few months when I'd wake up with numb hands from curling them under, it did the job. So if I get the slightest hint of it again I'll drag them back out.
Today I had a brief but pretty intense dizzy spell. It wasn’t just a rush of blood and that woozy feeling that accompanies it. It was like the whole room was slanted or I was standing slanted and the room was straight. I felt like I would fall over just standing. It was so weird. It only lasted a minute or less. Might have zero to do with pregnancy but I’ve never had that happen before.
@ecwk that happened to me in my last pregnancy when I was just standing for too long. I had to sit down and have a snack. Not sure what triggered yours (if anything) but I learned that I could be walking and be ok, but standing in one place would make me really dizzy and almost pass out—it was strange.
@ecwk this happened to me a few times last pregnancy and actually just happened today. We went to a farm for an Easter Egg hunt and I started feeling really dizzy. It was not even hot out either so that was what was strange for me. I sat down and ate a granola bar and a few minutes later was ok. So scary though!
@F47 We have a pharmacy here that carries all sorts of orthopedic braces and home health stuff, so I went in and explained what I was looking for and why to the guys and they helped me out. I ended up picking out some cheap but decently rigid wrist splints that fit and weren't horribly uncomfortable to sleep in. I think it was less than $20 for the two.
Amazon has a fairly decent selection, but I am rather big boned in the wrists for a female, so I wanted to try it on before I bought them.
I am on the computer a lot as a gamer, which is already a risk factor carpal tunnel and I have a horrible habit of curling my wrists up tight when I sleep, so it was starting to be detrimental. Heh
@ecw I've had that happen before and I think my doctor said it was probably my inner ear. I'm pretty sure I've got an "otolith", a little calcium deposit in my inner ear, that tickles the tiny hairs that help with your perception of balance. If it happens, sometimes rolling my head around like I'm doing neck stretches helps alleviate it. Although if it gets too bad there's maneuvers that your doctor or chiropractor can do to fix it.
Also sometimes crazy patterns can screw with me and make me feel dizzy, like crazy patterned carpeting, or clothing patterns as I'm walking through aisles of clothes I'm a department store.
So the last few days I have been having a lot of soreness in the heels of my feet (even though I haven't been on my feet any extra), and I've had that "too tight" feeling in my ankles and knees when they bend. My only explanation is swelling even though I can't really see it yet. Ordered some compression socks today that will arrive this week, but it seems very early to be dealing with this at 21 weeks. Am I wrong in thinking that?

I believe some women can swell pretty early on. I didn't until late in third tri but compression socks were my jam. Those, athletic shoes with good support, and elevating my feet at the end of the day totally saved me. I would put a call in to your doc if it gets worse and you feel as though it's too early for the swelling. I hope you get some relief!
I had to sit down in the middle of singing in the church choir because I got too hot and I know I would have passed out. Damn lights. Guess I won’t be doing that again this pregnancy.
@doctormom33 I had all kinds of foot soreness and swelling this past week. It does seem early, but nevertheless, here we are. I had extenuating circumstances last week, though, so hopefully it won't be a regular thing for a while. Not looking forward to compression socks.

I definitely have had cankles flare up a few times and I told my doctor but he said that sounded pretty normal as long as it went back to normal after some time. Super fun. Cankles.
Thanks everyone. My compression stockings are supposed to arrive today and I'm working on putting my feet up more (not just sitting or laying, but actually elevated). Hopefully this isn't a sign of worse things to come and I can get on top of it!
