Holy emotions! I've been getting weepy over the simplest stuff. Full on tears for anything slightly sad or joyous.
Oh yeah. I cried at walgreens yesterday because I was annoyed. What the hell?! Lol

  • I have randomly feeling a weird popping or pang feeling in my side (higher up then like by bottom of my ribs). It doesn’t hurt, and it’s completely random like when I’m trying to get into the bed. Has anyone else had this and talked to the dr about it? Everything I’ve found on DR google is other moms who have felt this but not what It is.
  • @Mkrosieo I can't say that sounds familiar to me. Could it be your small floating ribs moving around in their cartilage sheaths due to all of the relaxin abounding in our bodies?

My back is killing me. Especially by the end of the day. I just want to lay down, but that's not comfortable. Waaaah. I need a prenatal massage. But, I know I'll just get annoyed because they aren't rubbing hard enough.

Also, my boobs haven't been sore this entire pregnancy until this week (so odd). But, they're making up for the pain I missed out on in the first tri. That moment when I first take my bra off...I basically have to hold my breath it hurts so bad.

  • I am ravenously hungry all the time. Snacks are not enough. If my body had it it's way I'd be eating like 8 meals a day.

  • @F47 my back is killing me too. I want a prenatal massage so badly but don’t want to spend the money.

I found a few spots (teeny tiny) of blood on my underwear this afternoon. Nothing on tp when I wipe. I know it's probably nothing but still has me spooked. I had this happen in my first pregnancy around this time (18w), though there was blood when I wiped, and it turned out to be a bladder infection. My second pregnancy ended in a mc, but it happened in week 7. Anyway, I'm trying not to be anxious, but I also keep going to the bathroom to double check.
  • @homequiltingmama spotting can be super scary. Could it be from shaving or something innocuous like that?

    Stuck in the box...

I couldn't think of anything unusual. No shaving down there or anywhere in the vicinity recently (like since getting pregnant...) I'm sure it's totally random, just a bit unnerving. I did my best to check for any bumps that could have burst, but couldn't see much of anything. I actually was thinking it might just be old spots that I never noticed, but the color has definitely darkened as it has dried. It makes me feel better that I've seen nothing on tp...hoping it was just something random.
  • @homequiltingmama Have you been constipated/having poop problems so it could be from there instead?

Definitely not from the back based on where in my undies. I do have a leftover h from my first pregnancy, but so far no flare ups. I wish I could go #2 though...I'm overdue ;)

I gave in and called the after hours line. Bc I'm not actively bleeding or having any pain, she didnt think I needed to come in - just rest and keep an eye out. She recommended I call the office tomorrow just to be sure my reg OB doesn't want to see me. It made me feel better at least.

  • Has anyone felt sore and generally crappy after an ultrasound? We had the A/S yesterday. Baby boy never stopped moving the whole time. It took an hour, and the u/s tech was pushing pretty hard on my stomach. I started gagging after we left and fought ms all afternoon & evening. My entire stomach felt sore, like I’d tried to do a lot of sit-ups. I feel somewhat better this morning, but the muscle soreness is still there.
  • @melprop I felt that way for days after my NT scan. They had to press down pretty hard to see him and I spent the next few days feeling like I got punched. It went away on its own after a few days.

  • @melprop - ditto @jsnakehole , after my NT scan I was super sore. It went away after about 2 days.

Oh no!! I didn't even know it a was possible to get them on your face. I don't know for certain but I believe varicose veins during pregnancy go away after birth. Hopefully?!?'

I’m also ridiculously pale right now, so maybe getting a little sun will help? Between this all the zits (including one that’s more like a cyst) my face is pretty tragic right now.

  • Good news @homequiltingmama. Congratulations
  • Great update! So happy it's nothing to be concerned about.
  • Reviving this thread. I went to the Perionatal today and she basically said the tightness and pressure I have been feeling is due to my lack of water intake. As soon as she said it I knew I wasn’t drinking enough water. Lesson learned I will be drinking a lot more water.

@melprop I had my ultrasound today and it took about an hour. Right after I felt horrible. She definitely was presssing down hard and I felt exhausted after. I don’t remember feeling like this with my last pregnancy.

  • Mine’s been pretty great and uneventful thus far, but the strangest thing happened overnight— I’ve developed these little papules on the palm of my hand and outer edges of my fingers— they’re very tiny, slightly itchy, and painful to the touch. Trying not to irritate them too much but that’s somewhat hard when you use your hands for most things. I’m thinking it’s some form of eczema as I already have a history of eczema but it’s never presented this way before.

Has as anyone else had a similar experience?

Luckily I have my 20 week appointment his Wednesday but just curious as to why this is occurring and how it’s typically treated.

Thanks and have have a lovely week!
  • Man I am so glad y'all talked about the discomfort after an ultrasound. I am SO achey and crampy after this morning. Uncooperative little miss didn't want to show her arms or legs so the tech was shoving the wand all different angles trying to get a good shot.

  • @calimom2524 - so sorry for the aches and cramps! I hope it feels better soon, I think I felt normal again 2 days after the a/s.

@OakandMaple12 - sounds like eczema, I'm sorry, that's really uncomfortable on your hands! I have eczema as well and use Aveeno all over. Have you used a new hand cream or soap recently? That can aggravate things. I hope you get answers at your appointment on Wednesday!

  • My feet are so painful that I'm almost in tears. I've been walking a ton, but I've not dealt with this kind of aching in my bones before! We went to a water park today, and my feet swelled up so bad that it was hard to flex my ankles, and applying any pressure to the bottoms of my feet feels like my bones are splintering. I hate to complain and make a big deal about it, and I really don't want to hold anyone back on our last day at the parks tomorrow, but I don't know how I will possibly get through it. What I want is to rent a wheelchair, but I'm too embarrassed to do so, and don't want to ask my mom or my son to push me! I was so grateful on our bus ride back that a woman saw that I am pregnant and offered me her seat. At least I'm looking obviously knocked up these days.

  • @derbysquirrel if there’s one thing I’ve learned in pregnancy and momming it’s ask for help when you need it. We don’t need to be strong all the time, we don’t need to be perfect, we are allowed to have ailments that are pregnancy related! You don’t want to ruin a day on your trip for your pride, I promise you’ll regret it. Get the wheelchair!

  • @OakandMaple12 it does sound like eczema, but also sounds like it could be hand foot and mouth? Just a thought.
  • @derbysquirrel - ditto everything @calimom2524 said. Soak your feet in some cold water (a few ice cubes are good but don't go overboard) then elevate for 20 min. Repeat. That should help with the swelling but absolutely go for the wheelchair if you're having a physical response to being on your feet like that. I hope you feel better!

  • @derbysquirrel Don't be afraid to ask for help if needed. Don't be miserable on purpose. :)

I get edema in the top of my left foot from damaging the lymph channels, so if I'm on my feet for too long it'll swell up like what you describe all the way to my ankle. At the end of the day, be sure to elevate your feet above your heart level and if your husband is a nice guy, ask him to give you a foot rub, starting at the toes and act like he's squeezing a tube of toothpaste, up towards your calf, to help move the fluid out. It helps a bunch!
  • @derbysquirrel i really struggled with foot and lower leg pain on my vacation last week. I ended up having to take a day off basically to let my feet recover and the swelling go down. If its your last day though, I'd say either go for the wheelchair or only stay out for part of the day?
  • @derbysquirrel Oh man - my feet have been swelling like crazy too. I kind of naively thought this would happen in like third tri - but I guess we're doing this now.  :|  I wore kind of poorly fitting shoes on Monday and 4 days later my feet have still not recovered.  I second what everyone else says - elevate the feet with cold compresses if you can and get the wheelchair if you think you need it - I would be all over that sucker!
  • Go for the support hose! They aren’t the cutest thing, but they can help with swelling and discomfort in the lower legs and feet. I wear them when I have long shifts on my feet. I have even found a few cute pairs!
  • @kc0711 - like panty hose? Do they go all the way up and cover the belly too? I saw something like that at Target but I wasn't sure if they would be too tight to wear all day

  • I feel like I’ve been punched in the crotch today. Not sure if it’s the amount of walking we have done, sex or both

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @mrsbubbles-2 they are similar to panty hose, but a stronger material. I have some that are just knee high and some that go from toes to all the way above my belly. I’ve worn them for years because of my blood pressure, so I have quite the collection. For foot and lower leg pain, I would try the knee high variety to give you support through your feet and calves.
