Kind of sad I feel like I can’t participate in the ticker changes because my due date was November 8th (thursday) but doctor said I’m about 1.5 weeks behind and never gave me a new due date.... hopefully will know more when I go for follow up next Friday which seems forever away now
Ehhh...I say just pick a random date and participate until you get your new date!
@PMForbie I'm so sorry to hear you've been feeling so sick lately! I hope on Friday you get some medication so you can finally get some relief. Hang in there!
@mempartyof3 I agree with @offtoneverland to just pick a date and join in! A bunch of us will be shifting dates once we get our first few ultrasounds so no worries if you don’t pick your actual day.
Best tried and true excuses for not drinking? We're Jewish and passover starts this friday along with it's 4 glasses of wine that go with the traditional part of the meal. I'm not ready to tell the ILs and while I can probably fill my glass with sparkling wine for the meal at our house, the one the next day at my ILs won't be as easy.
@goldie987 I’m guessing “converting to Mormonism” wouldn’t go over well in that context?
If illness/medication doesn’t work you could try saying you’re on a specific diet/cleanse that doesn’t allow wine, or if you don’t want to confirm the pregnancy say you’re “trying to get pregnanct, rather safe than sorry”
I had a dream the other night that baby was a boy! We're team green, but it was pretty awesome to think about!
Also, I am SO SICK of the cold! I don't want to wear pants anymore, I want to switch to dresses and skirts. Every day I think to myself that I will be brave enough to switch, and then while I am getting dressed and start shivering, I change my mind. I am currently at my desk in long pants and a sweater, covered in goosebumps!

@tessiesmom26 I had constant dreams that LO was a boy while pregnant and team green and he was! I never had a dream he was a girl. I think the stat is something like 70% correct for mother's intuition and dreams predicting the sex. It's so much fun trying to guess and thinking of all the possibilities. But be prepared for all the comments of, "this is how I was with my (sex of child) so you are having the same!" Or, "I could never do that because (basically they're impatient)." Those comments got old so fast.

I'm feeling good right now, but being cautiously optimistic. Thank you all for your well wishes yesterday. I was reaching my breaking point. I don't think I'll make it throw the day without throwing up, but at least my body is processing some of breakfast.
Anywho, what do you all think about doing a birth story thread for BTDT moms to share their experiences? The good, the bad, the ugly, every detail so FTMs can get an idea of what child birth is like? And include some things that absolutely helped with the whole process? Dec. 2016 did this and it was such a great and valuable thread for me as a FTM. I lurked the heck out of it and had it saved to my favorites.

@PMForbie As a FTM, I love that idea. I know everyone's story is different as will mine be but the more info the better (in my opinion). I think it's a great way to prepare and think of things that I may not have on my own... Great idea!
@PMForbie nice to know we had a fan Yes, that birth story thread really helped my anxiety and I felt a little more prepared going in. Glad to hear you are feeling somewhat better today.
@goldie987 I second the antibiotic story, or just pretend to take sips. Tzesin Pesach!

@PMForbie I would totally read that as a FTM! They had something similar on TTGP and I read that one but one here would be awesome!

@phoenix870509 I loved lurking Dec. 16 since my EDD was 1/1, but was much more active in Jan 17 (good thing since DS decided to come 9 days late). I loved seeing you all create the little penguin families and have been on the look out for any of them joining Nov. 18! Glad to see you and your penguin here!

We had a home energy check this morning w/ our electric company and while DH and I are standing in the living room talking to the guy, DD runs up and hands him my positive pregnancy test! Don't know how she got into my nightstand. The poor guy. He actually took it from her and said "What's this?" I haven't blushed that hard in a loooong time. Thank God she did it with a stranger since we're not telling anyone yet!
Ran to puke on short notice today and didn't close the door behind me. DD comes running over, looks and yells "eww mommy" and slammed the door shut. I opened it so I could hear her if she got into trouble and she ran back over and said no and slammed the door shut again. Toddlers man...
@goldie987 Having a few minutes alone in the bathroom does sound nice though... I went to pee yesterday evening (DH was home), closed the door, and DD of course banged on it saying “mooooommmmmyyyyy” the whole time...
I am so tired today. Last night in the middle of the night, Tessie fell out of our bed! Poor thing fell in slow motion because we heard a ton of scratching and then a big bang. I don't think I've ever jumped out of bed so fast! I also screamed and scared DH even more. Our bed is high too so I felt so bad. It took her a bit to get back into bed and she finally settled down, but I couldn't fall back asleep after that.

@MouseMama817 that's too funny! My 3yo has been telling people there's a baby in belly for months, way before we planned on having another. We're not sure why or how she even got that idea in her head. It's kind of nice though because now people just laugh and think she's just making things up again so I don't *technically* have to lie to them.
Does anyone know how to make the ads that pop out on the bottom of the screen on a PC stop? They are incredibly annoying. I'm tired of hitting the X every 10 seconds.
Finally found the randoms thread! I work nights and am a SAHM during the day so my days have been hectic. I started napping when DD naps so I literally have no time to myself. Sooo tired
We're taking our announcement photo tomorrow and posting it to social media on Sunday. I am so excited! I originally wanted to wait until the second tri (like we did with DD), but with the good report from the doctor today and the fact that I'm almost 9 weeks... I'm feeling pretty safe.
I'm so happy to finally feel genuinely excited about this pregnancy. It was sooner than expected and my anxiety always finds a way to put a fog around anything new, but I'm settling in to the idea of having two so close together in age and the fog is finally lifting. Now, if only BRU would go ahead and mark everything down to, like, 80% off, everything will be perfect
Re: the awful video ads, download an ad blocker! They're free and they stop the videos completely. The website runs so much faster without them! When I get home I can check which ad blocker I have.
@CopperBoom86 I'm so excited you're starting to feel excited! So happy for you!
@CopperBoom86 I can so relate to the feeling. I was shocked to find out I’m pregnant because we were waiting until late summer to TTC. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an amazing surprise and we’re really really happy. But it definitely was shocking and changed a lot of our plans. We only told our immediate family but I want to wait until we tell our friends. I waited until like 36 weeks last time hahaha! But I feel like once we have an ultrasound and it goes well, it’ll just make me feel more confident. It’s weird but yeah
Oh, another bit of happiness from today... I avoided the infamous dildo cam!
When the US tech called me back, I told her I needed to pee before we got started. She glanced at my file and said "you're far enough along now that if your bladder is full, I can probably pick up the baby with an external US."
@CopperBoom86 i too am struggling to get excited about this pregnancy...or idk if that's the right way to say it. maybe i'm just still in denial that it's happening (this one was not completely planned--NTNP)...we have our first scan on Wed (4/4) and I think that will make it a little more "real" and exciting--assuming everything looks good. I do think i'll probably get the dildo came though cause the scan will be done at my doc's office. It's nice because every visit she does an ultrasound so i'll take the dildo cam any day as long as it shows me a healthy baby
@CopperBoom86 dying over the dildo cam comment! I’ve never heard it called that but it’s pretty apt. Yay on the photo announcement!!
Edited for spelling and to add for whoever it was the other day asking about sour hard candy, I just read somewhere that lemon heads can help alleviate nausea.
Is anyone else having issues w/ the app not wanting to back out of a thread? I have to click the back button 5 times minimum before it responds. Wondering if I need to un/reinstall.
I've been putting off work all day. I took a nap earlier when kiddo napped and I still have no motivation at all to do work. Its 840pm my time. Things are starting to look grim.
