Cue the tears first thing this AM, my boss presented me with a "congrats on baby" gift of some of those rings you connect together to hang toys off of and some teether rings for LO She laughed and said if anyone comes snooping and asks what they're for our fib is that they're being mailed out for a friend.

@Jessie42613 I think it's a good thing sometimes. Even if a person is dead wrong, I don't think it's okay for everyone and their mother to gang up on them. I think it's important to remember that even the craziest of internet bitches is still a person... still a pregnant person. None of us need that kind of unnecessary stress on us right now. So, while part of me loves the drama, most of me is glad they shut stuff down before it gets out of hand.
H is on my case about drinking caffeine. I swear if he says one more thing, I'm going to rip him a new one. I drink one 12 oz Dr Pepper a day, which contains 41 mg of caffeine. The problem is that when we saw my OB, she said NO caffeine in the first tri. I didn't question it because I was like "whatever, SCIENCE SAYS I CAN HAVE 200 MG." But because she said that, he thinks I'm going to damage the baby if I have even one drop of soda. ::eyeroll::
@CopperBoom86 husbands are the worst. You're not growing another human being for the next 9 months, you don't get a say what I put into my body to survive it.

@CopperBoom86 Ugh that's frustrating! Hopefully he comes around soon!
MH on the other hand surprised me last night. I have been backed up for the past few days (sorry if TMI) and we did a lot of cleaning around the house and I just got to a point were I was done and needed to sit. He said he was going to the package store, and actually went to CVS and asked the pharmacist what I could take. The pharmacist was no help and told him to ask the Dr (which we could have done, and plan to do today) but MH then went to the aisle and turned every bottle of softener and laxative looking for something that I could take. He came home so defeated but it was so sweet of him to think of that in the first place. He cooked dinner and made salads and kept cleaning up telling me to focus on my water intake so that I could try to go. He's sweet that man of mine!

@CopperBoom86 Ugh... did your OB have specific reason why NO caffeine for first tri? What about tea? That still contains caffeine. Sheesh... no caffeine is just cruel! I haven't had much coffee/caffeinated beverages lately, but I'll have an occasional soda with dinner like... once a week . Ohhh plus, I got myself a small caramel mocha yesterday. OMG... the amount of sideeye MH gave me was hilarious. I looked at him and told him to shut his trap cause either I drink the mocha or I sleep in the car, his choice. Plus I got a small one, not the monster size I would be pre-dot. (We were driving to drop off DSD which is a 3 hour trip one-way, so he likes for me to stay awake, especially on the way back to talk to him). Spoiler alert: it was delicious.

@tessiesmom26 that is super sweet of YH I was super constipated over the weekend too. It SUCKS! I was advised that stool softeners are okay to take. Laxatives/anything with a "stimulant" in it are NOT okay though. But check with your OB

@copperboom86 you are way better than me. I drink my 200 mg of caffeine every day without shame. My 4 year old has night terrors and wakes me up every single night at least once and my 1 year old still nurses every morning at 5 am. There is no way I would survive without it. Try not to let him bug you and enjoy that soda!
Im still on the caffeine train as well. I have significantly cut back but, Im going to go with current recommendations of less than 200mcg a day and be at peace with it.
I've definitely cut back on my caffeine and I've tried really hard to up my water intake, but the truth is that I'm just not a heavy drinker so if I'm not thirsty, I just don't drink. It's almost like I have to set a reminder on my phone to drink water.
I'm just so dang tired and I'm so emotional. We had pizza for dinner last night and I brought my leftovers home. MH carried them in and the last I remember seeing them they were sitting on the counter. So at about 3:30 this morning I **woke up and immediately thought they were left out all night and started to cry. When I got up this morning to pour glasses of milk for my girls the leftovers were in the fridge! MH must've put them in the fridge after I had last seen them. I cried again, but these were happy tears. Ugh!!!
@lurvleybunchococonuts No! She didn't tell me why she gave non-standard advice. And, like I said, I didn't question it because I know the science. Maybe I should ask her on Friday... but, then again, it's not going to change anything I do, so whatever lol.
I went to church yesterday, got to the parking lot, turned around and went home. Because jeans. And buttons. Then I put on yoga pants and took a nap! No regrets lol
@Jessie42613 - In the olden days it would take A LOT for a thread to be closed, probably because mods were board members and not a paid employee of TB, but man, things would get so out of hand. You would have people from all different boards jumping in and issues would just get so big and whoever was getting attacked would be cyber lynched. It made for good entertainment but things got really nasty and would definitely go too far. I think this way is better although it does curtail the fun because mods are very quick to close threads.

I have mild cramping and it is driving me insane! Cramping signaled the beginning of the end with my other two and every time I feel it I worry. The good news is still no pink or red when I wipe so I am remaining hopeful! My biggest issue right now though is feeling like a complete idiot at work! As a dispatcher I can't afford to be off my game so it has been interesting.

@eranvo27 - I am so sorry that you are having cramping. If it's of any consolation, I had a lot cramping with my last 2 children and things still worked out. May I suggest making sure that you are drinking water regularly? Being dehydrated can cause cramping. I was having quite a bit of cramping yesterday and it made me realize I hadn't had water in almost 4 hrs so I hydrated and the cramping went away.

@eranvo27 mild cramping can be super normal. I agree, drink more water. And try and relax and breathe more. I get a tugging/pinching sensation if I try to stand up straight quickly after sitting down so I have to be mindful to take it slow.
My kids were demanding this weekend. One is sick and one wanted to do everything with me and only me. Then neither slept well during naps or at night. Starting to think I'm crazy for having a third so close to the other two, but I love that my kids will be close in age. Add to it that I read a Scarymommy article about how insane your life gets with a third kid. Maybe I need to stay off Facebook.
The struggle is real: I have absolutely NO motivation to make dinners.... considering the fact I’m mostly nauseous afternoon and evenings it’s a struggle to be in kitchen area with smells... I have an almost 2 and 3 year old..... bleh
@purplefan1 Thank you! I've been increasing my water and the cramping has eased up quite a bit. I just need to make it 19 more hours to my first appointment and I will feel much better. I am trying not to stress because I am only getting positives on the store brand tests. I should be 6 weeks tomorrow if I go from my LMC, but they are usually long so if I re-calculate it I am only at 4 weeks. I am a wreck because I have no idea what is going on lol!

@CopperBoom86 Ugh just another example of how the “rules” or guidelines or advice for pregnancy can vary so widely. You’ll get 5 different answers from five different doctors, the internet will tell you something else, and then the pregnancy books will say yet another thing. It’s impossible.
@mempartyof3 ugh same. We have eaten take out so much the past 2 weeks it’s embarassing. My husband cooked dinner tonight after he got home, thank goodness. I did make the baked potatoes but he handled everything else. I am so grateful he actually likes to cook!
Today I was supposed to be on jury duty so I had to cancel an entire day at work (I work 9am-9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays). Jury duty was canceled due to no trials. Having the day to myself with kiddo at daycare and husband at work was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I feel so refreshed. This was a much needed day off and although I cringe at how crappy my next pay check will be, the self care and recharging of today was so absolutely needed.
Italian food is one of the foods I can't tolerate in 1st tri, probably because of the strong smells. But I can handle eggs and meats no problem. I'm backwards I guess.

Me too! So glad I'm not the only one. This didn't happen my first pregnancy but now I can't stand the thought of Italian food or pizza. I had to rush through the frozen pizza aisle at the grocery store yesterday before I started dry heaving. I still like eggs and meat too, although plain chicken doesn't sound appetizing, but I'll eat it if it's mixed in with something (like soup or enchiladas).
Dropping by to say hi. I've been a bad bumpie the past few weeks and I apologize. I've been so sick. Computer and phone time makes it worse. I haven't been keeping food down lately. It's been horrible. I hope that after my Friday appointment, I can have some meds to help give me some relief and I can participate more. Anyways, that's where I'm at. I hope everyone is having as okay a first tri as possible!

just dropping by...i feel like i've missed so much and am behind with no possibility of catching up...this week is crazy busy for me at work with some deploys and deadlines...and baby brain is NOT helping the situation...i'm hoping i don't miss something important.
Kind of sad I feel like I can’t participate in the ticker changes because my due date was November 8th (thursday) but doctor said I’m about 1.5 weeks behind and never gave me a new due date.... hopefully will know more when I go for follow up next Friday which seems forever away now
