This is a check in for those of us who are experiencing pregnancy after a loss (miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, stillbirth, child loss, to name a few). Hopefully we can all lend support to each other through the hormone-filled craziness that is pregnancy! Just a reminder: there is a general loss trigger warning on this entire thread.

Re: PGAL Check-In w/o 3/27
2) How are you feeling (symptoms): Nervous about lack of symptoms. Wish right now I felt more pregnant. Other than fatigue, lack of period, and positive tests, I don't think I have much to show I'm pregnant.
3) How are you feeling (anxiety): Checking every time I got to the bathroom. Probably will whole pregnancy. Also nervous because I did not think this month it would happen so I got a needed root canal done. Full numbing, x-rays, and lots of ibuprofen. All a couple of days before positive pregnancy test. Just worried what that might have done and frustrated because every other month for over a year I have been so careful during those two weeks.
4) Any appointment updates: First appointment April 18th. Going to call today to request beta testing to make sure I'm trending and progesterone is good.
5) What's happening in your life this week: Pretty chill week. Going to visit family on Sunday for Easter. And working on changing diet up.
6: GTKY: What are some of your hobbies: I just got back in to running and have been training since December for a half marathon that I'm choosing to sit out. It is on the 7th and although I feel up to doing it, with my fatigue and not wanting to push myself I'm not sure I can get the PR I want so I figure why risk it. Plus I'd rather have clearance from the doctor first. There will be more to run in the future.
I'm 5 weeks today!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Every new symptom I have makes me feel better and better about this pregnancy, so in that way I'm feeling great
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
Last week after I found out was really rough. I POAS every day from the day I got my BFP (Monday) through Friday when I had my 2nd beta. When I had my CP in January, my levels were on the lower side initially and reduced at my 2nd beta, which signaled I the CP - hence my anxiety about the 2nd test this time around. This time, my levels doubled appropriately and my RE was very pleased with my progress, so they said they didn't feel that further beta checking was required, however I just had it checked again this morning for my own sanity, but I did POAS this morning after taking the weekend off and the line was significantly darker which makes me think it will be fine. After speaking with the doctor on Friday, I did feel a big sigh of relief. We went away this weekend and I didn't test at all and tried not to worry, and I feel so much better.
4. Any appointment updates?
3rd beta check this morning, first ultrasound scheduled for 4/4. Can't wait!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
We just got back from a long weekend watching the NCAA March Madness tournament in another state. Although getting away was so much fun and helped to reduce my anxiety significantly, I do feel tired so we're going to try to take it easy this weekend and stay local for Easter just to not overdo it.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies?
I'm a classically trained pianist and enjoy hiking!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Not many symptoms since it’s still so early. Just some cramping and im peeing so much more.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Actually pretty good. I’m really calm and feeling good about everything. It’s a complete turn around from my last two pregnancies. I’ve only taken two tests when normally I’d be testing twice a day until my ob appt.
4. Any appointment updates? I peed on a stick correctly at my pcm’s office so I’m “officially” pregnant and got my ob referral.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Nothing too exciting this week, thankfully.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? Reading and crafting with my silhouette cameo.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Not many symptoms yet, so I guess okay?
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Every day is a rollercoaster. Some days I feel like this baby is definitely going to stick and some days I just feel like I'm just waiting for the cramping and bleeding to start. I hate that I can't enjoy the first part of pregnancy. It feels like I'm wasting it, but DH and I are both just waiting for the second trimester before we believe this is really happening.
4. Any appointment updates? NP next week for the paperwork visit and to schedule my first u/s. That won't be until 8-10 weeks. I really need it to be right at the 8 week mark or I'm going to lose my mind.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Things have been super busy with prepping for my parents to visit and then having them here for 5 days. It was so good to see them and it really helped me stay distracted from this waiting until I get to check on this baby.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? Running, disc golf (it's really DH's hobby, but I tag along and make up my own rules), reading, trashy tv. I haven't had much time for those since DD was born, but one day I'll pick them up again.
8 weeks today, further than I've ever been.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Okay, I guess. Some back pain and cramping. Hungry.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I feel like everything could be a sign of a loss. This morning, there was a very little bit of brown discharge when I wiped (tmi) which led to furious Googling though intellectually I know better.
4. Any appointment updates?
I'm actually in the process of changing my OB. I put in the paperwork to the new office this past Friday and am waiting to hear back if they've accepted me as a patient. The OB that I had called me a couple of weeks ago when I was at work, though we had an appointment the next day, and left me with the impression that I was miscarrying. I cried all afternoon and evening, then saw the heartbeat the next day.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I just don't want to work. I love my job. I work in an inbound call center with pensions and 401k plans for several different employers. My job is pretty challenging, and I just want to go home and learn to knit while watching documentaries.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I like cross stitching and baking and nail art. Right now, though, it seems like my favorite hobby is getting my husband to do stuff for me.
6w3d. I’m now just passed my loss milestone.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
They are definitely getting worse. Nausea is worse than last pregnancy, and my nipples feel like they are going to fall off.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
Hormones hit me out of no where last night, now I’ve been worried I’m not gonna be able to keep it together at work. Hearing bad 911 calls isn’t going to be easy... sorry to my coworkers that will have to listen to me cry lol!
4. Any appointment updates?
Still impatiently waiting for my 8 week US and blood work.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):
My brother is getting married the end of April, so the next month is packed with events. Not looking forward to the weekend long bachelorette party where I get to babysit all the drunks. Hoping the busyness helps first tri go by fast.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies?
Knitting is my only real hobby, mostly all my free time is spent hanging out with family and we like to play a lot of cribbage
7 weeks, possibly. I'm further along than I was with my cp but I haven't seen a heartbeat yet, so I'm still anxious.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Between the headaches, the nausea, and the fatigue, I'm wishing I could spend the day in bed!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I had some bleeding this morning, so I'm extra anxious at the moment. I'm hoping that, since I have an OB appointment this afternoon, they might check on lo due to bleeding. It wasn't much, and it was brown, EXCEPT for 2 small "clots" in the toilet.
4. Any appointment updates?
Hopefully I'll know more this afternoon, but I have a dating ultrasound scheduled for Thursday afternoon. I then have an appointment with a mfm doctor.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I've had a relatively good week so far. Students are actually doing what they are supposed to, which always make things easier. At home, however, DS has been extra whiny! I'm not sure what's going on, but as soon as something isn't going his way he starts to cry. I thought we were past this phase!
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I love to read! I also like to crochet, but I'm not very good at it and I usually don't have the time to finish the projects I start. I used to sew, but I haven't had a working sewing machine in years. I might have to get it fixed so I can sew some things this summer when I'm home with DS.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Fine. The nausea was better for a day or two and it's kinda come back. At this point I'm so anxious that could be making me nauseous.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I go from being ok to a mess. My progesterone dropped last week (I didn't find out until yesterday) to 15 which they say is normal and that it fluctuates. I want to make sure it's not going to keep dropping especially with my PCOS so I'll ask for another level tomorrow.
4. Any appointment updates? Waiting for my ultrasound tomorrow
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Nothing out of the ordinary. We went to see my BFFs new house yesterday and let our kids play which was so nice. I always feel so much better after hanging with her. My son is really shy and it takes him a while to warm up even with people he knows, and it was so fun to watch him play with her kids.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I like reading, photography, astronomy, and doing some crafting with my silhouette cameo.
Dx: PCOS
DS1 born 11/2014
DS2 born 11/2018
3 previous losses
Rainbow baby due 12/2021 - Team Green
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
Sore boobs, a little bit of food aversion and nausea. A little extra tired but nothing like I experienced with DD. A little hormonal already.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I don’t feel as anxious as I thought I would. I just have a good feeling about this pregnancy. I do feel occasional aches on my right side, where my ectopic was, but I’ve been feeling those since it happened last August so I’m trying not to let myself dwell on them. I’m just got my 2nd HCG so we’ll know soon how things look.
4. Any appointment updates?
None yet. My first appointment is set w/ my midwife on the 9th but they mentioned wanting me to start off w/ the OB at first until we know things are okay, which may change my appointment date.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I’m going on an overnight trip to attend a concert this weekend w/ my aunt and 14 year old cousin, who is very much the moody teenager. We had them over last night and I snapped at her for sitting at the table, completely ignoring people who are speaking directly to her. Like literally doesn’t look up, respond, or acknowledge someone who is standing right in front of her talking to her. I’ve never experienced such rude behavior and pregnant hormonal me is not looking forward to enduring this crap while being away from my family. But I adore my aunt and we’re best friends so I’m really going for her. They don’t know I’m pregnant so when I pop off there’s not excuse. Fingers crossed I keep it together!
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies?
I love podcasts and reading. I listen to podcasts while I do anything house related— keeps it from being too mind numbing. I just joined a book club so looking forward to that!
@kbrown2385 It looks like a Silhouette Cameo is kind of similar to a Cricut? I am a paper crafter, but I don't do much beyond that. What kind of things do you like to craft?
@nervous0220 Have you had any more spotting? FWIW, brown spotting is totally normal; I think it's red that is more worrisome. I completely 100% understand you being concerned about it though. Any kind of spotting is very scary, especially with PGAL brain.
@thebobloblaw Oh man, getting sad 911 calls while pregnant would be torture. Currently, I'm crying at everything. Even kids' cooking shows. I can't imagine!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 9w 1d. I passed all the milestones of my CPs.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Pretty good, which worries me sometimes. I don't have a ton of symptoms, but I'm exhausted, I have to pee all the time, I'm emotional, and my sense of smell is getting very sensitive. I feel like I can smell everything!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Honestly, I'm doing fine right now. I'm anxious to hear the heartbeat at my next appointment in 1.5 weeks to make sure everything is okay, but I'm pretty confident that things are going well.
4. Any appointment updates? I got some blood work done for my OB yesterday, so I'm interested to see how my hcg levels are looking now. I should have the results tomorrow morning.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I don't have too much to say today. I've just been really tired the past week, so every evening around 9:00 I struggle to keep myself awake. I haven't been sleeping well due to lingering congestion from my cold and having to wake up to pee all the time. I'm looking forward to Easter weekend. We're visiting my in-laws in New Jersey and DD always enjoys spending time with her grandma.
6. GTKY: I love reading, watching TV, scrapbooking (although I haven't done that in a very long time), and doing puzzles.

@offtoneverland 9weeks is fabulous! I’m so excited for you and glad that you’re feeling good.
@mockingjay1 Hope you’re feeling less anxious after your most recent appointment. And astronomy sounds like a really cool hobby.
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 5w4d today. I’ve never made it past 6w, so it’ll be a milestone on Sunday!
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I'm feeling pretty good - I’m exhausted, moody, bloated and hungry all the time. Otherwise, my boobs are killing me but I’m ok!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? The PGAL brain is real folks. I’m incredibly anxious. My appointment on Wednesday was encouraging, but I just can’t let myself be hopeful until I’ve seen a heartbeat. Or maybe not even until I have an actual baby in my arms...
4. Any appointment updates? US next Wednesday at 6w3d should (hopefully) show a heartbeat.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I’m just trying not to freak out and google myself into a panic. Work has been really busy and challenging so that helps distract me!
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I read. A lot. Mostly fantasy and sci fi, but I love a good mystery. I also enjoy gardening, which can be really creative here in the desert.
I love reading too, but it looks like I blanked on that one! Has anyone read/heard of any good pregnancy books?
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Smells, exhaustion, sore boobs (though that’s getting better) constant nausea, constipayed, achy, clumsy, and SO emotional. (Heck, blame it all on pregnancy!)
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I feel SO much better now that we’ve heard the heartbeat. We’ve passed the development milestone from the loss (stopped developing at 5w6d, though we didn’t find out til 7.5 w, then confirmed at 8.5w) Still having a hard time imagining that we will make it full term due to my other complications. Like, I’m not even preparing for the possibility of adding another life to our family right now, just figuring out what I can do to create a healthy pregnancy for today, day by day. I had my appointments and tests done through my family doctor so far, due to how much anxiety I was feeling about it,and some brown spotting which had been my only indicator last time. She was AMAZING and patient as I cried in her office. She goes to my church, so she asked if she could pray with me when we were done. I agreed, and she prayed that “this experience would bring me joy bigger than any anxiety I felt, and that I would find joy in caring for this life, for as long as it was mine to care for.” I’ve really been hanging onto that, and it’s been a huge help.
4. Any appointment updates?
Will see my ob-gyn next week, around the 8 week mark. (same who handled all my 3 pregnancies/births from 2004-2009, and my loss last year) Hoping to see growth, hear the heartbeat, and nail down a due date!
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Trying to figure out how/when to tell our kids, since they’re already suspicious about all the appointments and why I’m so tired. Hosting Easter dinner here tonight, and spring break is almost over, and we’ll be moving into science fair prep mode with 4/5 kids!
6. GTKY: Hobbies? Art/drawing/illustration/any creative outlet! I teach classes through a homeschooling co-op and privately in homes, about 50 kids altogether. I do freelance graphic design and illustration as well. A children’s book I illustrated was just launched last week, (self published by the author) which was SO exciting. I also do paint parties
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Nothing crazy yet
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Nervous. Hopefully I will be able to relax more after everything goes well at the first appointment on April 9th
4. Any appointment updates? Nope
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Work has been crazy which is why I assumed I was late due to stress. After buying tests for almost two years I figured it just wasn't happening. When I was a week late I finally took a test which was positive. WOOHOO. Last time we told everyone and got super excited to be heartbroken 8 weeks in so we are attempting to hold off to tell anyone until 12 weeks this time.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? Reading and exploring new places around me
@MouseMama817 thanks! Google: A Cloud named Joleen,
1. How far along are you? Any milestones? I am roughly 7w2d, I O'd very late, so I'm not 100% sure of my dates. I've passed all my CP milestones, I just need to pass my BO and ectopic ones.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
I am very tired, heartburn is on point, nausea comes and goes, tender breasts. Thanks to progesterone, I have diarrhea, which is the worst!
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I'm kind of a hour mess. I've had quite a few u/s and even saw the hb, but I'm still going crazy. This will be the longest I've gone in between appt since I found out. It doesn't help my anxiety.
4. Any appointment updates?
Saw our little bean on Monday, baby measured 6w1d with a hb of 120. I go back on April 17th for a repeat u/s.
5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): I've decided that being a SAHM is harder when trying to distract from the first tri. With my ds, I worked full time and it help with my crazy, now I get to have it with me all day everyday.
6. GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I love to read, watch Disney movies with my kiddo, and sleep.
I will be about 6 weeks tomorrow. My last pregnancy stopped progressing around this point so I am looking forward to next week. All my numbers look great.
2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?
To be honest, great, which has me a worried mess. When I first found out I was nauseous all the time, couldn't eat, and my breast were so sore. Now, my breast only hurt if you push on them and they feel a little less heavy. Also, my nausea is almost gone. I do have cramping and a crazy appetite. I just hate these disappearing symptoms because it makes me so nervous.
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?
I am really trying to stay positive. With my last pregnancy, I just knew something was wrong from the beginning. With this one I was completely happy until our last u/s and the doctor could just see the sac. Now my anxiety is terrible. I am so nervous.
4. Any appointment updates?
My next appointment is Monday for another u/s. The doctor seems to think we will have our answer when we do it.
We are announcing today. I know it is really early but we said if we got pregnant again, we wanted the baby to be celebrated. Last time we told everyone after the miscarriage and it was so sad. Needless to say, I am a nervous wreck. My biggest fear is that we will announce today and find out tomorrow that the pregnancy is not viable. But I am telling myself that there is a 99% chance that won't happen!
I got my results back from my betas. 1st was 1034, 2nd was 1691. Going in for a scan today to check viability Really hoping for the best but expecting the worst of course.
Thank you all for the positive thoughts. I appreciate this board so much for all of the good vibes!! Still waiting to hear back from my doctors office. Watch. With my luck I will be unavailable when they call and you know they don't leave messages other than to call back. Ugh. I hate the waiting game. If it isn't going to work out, I just want to know.
@kbrown2385 fx for a good scan!!!!
