  • @bfpafter4years - great news! I think it's completely normal to just see a yolk sac at this stage. Hopefully you see the fetal pole and heartbeat thursday!

@purplefan1 - I'm so sorry you're bleeding. I hope it's nothing serious and that you get good news from your doc today. Thinking of you!

@kbrown2385 - I hope you get good news at your ultrasound!

  • @bfpafter4years yay for a yolk sac!! I didn't think there would ever be a time in my life previous to pregnancy that I would get excited about yolk sacs and fetal poles. I hope heart beat is there and strong on Thursday!

I got the call back about my levels. My hcg fell from 27.2 to 26.7 from Tuesday to Friday and my progesterone was down to 7. So this pregnancy is not viable. I had a feeling when I went in and my level was on 27 that it wasnt looking great (I truly couldnt calculate a way for the home pregnancy test to have picked it up 5 days earlier than that and still be ok). Hopefully I will be on another board some time soon with another rainbow baby on the way!!

I wish you all the very best. Please enjoy every second you can of your pregnancies (and despise any second you want to as well! Pregnancy is rough!) Take care of your bodies, your minds, and your hearts and love yourselves!
  • @purplefan1 I'm so sorry. I hate you are going through this again. ((Hugs))
  • @purplefan1 - I am so sorry. Thinking of you and praying you get your rainbow baby soon. <3

  • @kbrown2385 so glad to hear your ultrasound went well!
  • @purplefan1 I’m so sorry. Holding you in thought and prayers.
  • Just went to the bathroom and I was spotting. I am six weeks today and have never spotted before while pregnant but know that it can be a normal thing. The discharge was a light brown color and of stringy consistency. We had an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:45 but have been rescheduled to today at 1:30. Please wish me luck...

  • @ginny_203 luck and prayers. I had that type of spotting all through 1st trimester with DS and was told it was fine.

So, not a great visit. Yolk and gestionational sacs are clearly visible and measuring appropriately but no heartbeat was visible at 6 weeks via transvaginal. We go back on Friday for another scan. My doctor said we are in limbo until then. I’m so upset... I don’t know if I can do this again if this doesn’t work out. My heart is broken just thinking about it. Thanks everyone for your encouragement. Please keep the prayers coming until Friday...
  • @ginny_203 Are you 6 weeks exactly? Remember that the heart just starts beating at this time, you just may have missed it by a day. In these early weeks, one day can make a HUGE difference. I know that is easier said than done, I've been there. You aren't out until you are, ok? ((Hugs))

So much this! 6 weeks on the dot is super early and it's not uncommon not to see a heartbeat. I would try to be optimistic unless your ultrasound Friday gives you a reason not to be (easier said than done I know). Hoping the next few days go by quickly and that your scan on Friday shows a beautiful heartbeat!

  • @wildrainbow @mockingjay1 yes, today is 6 weeks exactly. I’ve been seeing some research that says 6 weeks is often too early to see a heartbeat in an otherwise normal pregnancy. Thanks to you both for your encouragement! Fingers crossed for a good report Friday...
  • @ginny_203 I think that everything measuring appropriately is a great sign! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you’ll see that beautiful flicker on friday!
  • Just saw this from Dr. Google, so I’m a little more encouraged. “The embryo's heart begins to beat around 6 weeks of pregnancy – sometimes earlier, sometimes later. A transvaginal ultrasound (an internal ultrasound) can detect a heartbeat around 6 weeks of pregnancy. However, it isn't uncommon to be unable to detect a heartbeat via ultrasound until closer to 7 or 8 weeks.”
  • @ginny_203 I’m getting my first u/s in 15 minutes and I just turned 6 weeks today so I’m fully expecting no heartbeat and for them to freak me out.
  • @MouseMama817 let us know how it goes!
  • @ginny_203 on Monday I was measuring 5 weeks, 5 days. All they saw was a yolk sac, but the doctor didn't seem concerned and wanted me to come back in on Thursday so that we could see more. They also scheduled me my exam on the same day, so I am assuming they are pretty confident! Hopefully, at your next appointment everything will be there!
  • @bfpafter4years so glad to hear. That’s where I was measuring too. You guys really know how to cheer a gal up!
  • Woke up to spotting this morning. Called my Dr and I go in tomorrow afternoon since he's in surgery all day today. I'm really hoping this little bean is still going strong. Of course, PGAL brain isn't helping in the least. I'm trying to remember that I have spotted off and on this whole pregnancy and things have been fine. Sigh, why does PGAL suck so much?

Something unbelievable just happened to me. A nurse from my doctor's office emailed with the results of my bloodwork yesterday and said that she's happy with the steady increase - I went from 1,055 to 3,812. I called her back because my progesterone had dropped from 32 to 24, and she said "I didn't look at the date of your last workup. Your HCG growth is less than we would liked to have seen". It had been a week since my last bloodwork. She also mentioned that the doctor's notes from my ultrasound yesterday said the growth measured at 5 weeks 2 days, not 5 weeks 5 days like he had told me. I switched to this doctor because I felt like my previous RE was incompetent, and can't believe I'm finding myself in this situation with this level of incompetence again. My PGAL brain is already thinking this is it for us, I may be leaving you after the scan on Friday.  :'(:'(:'(:'(

ETA, if this loss happens, this will be our 2nd loss in 4 months. I don't think anyone deserves this.
