Lol I still have the issue of being impressionable. My brain/body haven’t yet come up with any cravings on their own, but if I see a picture of something, chances are I’ll want it. So, thank you @smsaulino because yes, I do want Taco Bell now!
@ashh2018 mmmmmm.... broccoli...mmmmmm... spinach... Yummy yummy nutrient dense vegetables!!! Am I a good friend!? Am I helping!? Lol! It's totally working on me. I want a salad now!
lol @stothi yes!!! And I’ve finally been eating real food - very excited about it. Had giant salads w beans and hard boiled eggs for lunch all week. I could definitely go for some roasted broccoli right now!
We went to a steakhouse for dinner last night, but because meat does not appeal to me I had a wonderful salad and a baked potato. Before pregnancy I ate fresh vegetables, but definitely not the way I do now. And I would never choose salad over meat.
We ate nothing but carbs and sweets all day yesterday so decided to make salad for dinner. I made a Thai chicken salad and it was amazing! I coated chicken strips in soy sauce, crushed garlic, and lime juice, and cooked it. The salad was greens, mango, red pepper, cilantro, sugar snap peas, cashews, crunchy asian noodles, and Thai sesame ginger dressing. OMG so good. I'm excited there's leftovers.

Must be something in the air! I actually made a salad for the first time in at least a year this week. Also loving yogurt parfaits for breakfast, smoothies, soups. I ended up getting a protein powder for the smoothies because nothing protein heavy has sounded good to me.
@SkilledSailor I’ve been having yogurt, granola, and blackberries all week as my morning snack. Probably gonna do the same this coming week bc it’s so good!
I made Persian spiced chicken with zucchini, onion and crispy rice with a lemon yogurt sauce and it was yummy. I even tricked my DS into thinking that the chicken was "meatballs" to try it since those are his favorite haha.
DH just got a smoker last week so yesterday we did ribs and had a bunch of friends over. Yum yum yum. Friends brought some delicious sides that I will continue to eat tonight
I'm currently guilty pleasure drinking an orange crush soda while gobbling up mini peanut better sandwich crackers. I don't normally drink soda much, especially when I'm pregnant other than the occasion ginger ale, but omg I wanted an orange soda so bad!!! So I bought a six pack of the little baby cans, and I'm sipping on one right now and it's heaven! Hea-ven.
I am eating meat!! It’s fried chicken, but it is meat which has had zero appeal so far! I’m also able to eat in general without felling too bad. That’s a win in itself!!
I've been making myself Reubens every. Single. Night. It started with leftover corned beef from st Patrick's day, but I bought pastrami this weekend and it's so much better.
@kayokosaeki i just had a reuben yesterday because i wanted sauerkraut so bad! Worth it.
I still dont really want meat that much. I've been eating lots of mangos, apples and bananas. Baby does not want ice cream, thankfully. I had some and it went right through me (never happened before). Last week i had a greek salad with some anchovies that was absolutely delicious. I love cooking and eating Indian food but i cannot deal with the cooking right now-- the masalas have too strong of an aroma. The augmented sense of smell is the strongest remaining symptom from th 1st trimester. I can smell a dirty sink a mile away!
@klj0228 I am crossing everything that you're turning a corner ❤ I hope the ability to eat keeps improving! It really is a great feeling to be able to eat without feeling horrible afterwards.
This week has been all about the pasta! Big ol lasagna with some fresh buns and butter is what i've got my eye on for this evening. Veggies and salads also making a return after I couldn't even look at em for a few weeks. Also... Taco Bell after seeing all the mentions on here

@southernlady07 Cotton candy grapes haven’t appeared here yet but when they do... I’m on the salad train with everyone and I want avocado on everything! I’ve been craving a specific salad with avocado for DAYS and i finally got it today—it was so satisfying. So glad to hear so many people are getting their appetites back!
My hens have been laying like crazy so I made two quiches tonight. One for tonight and one to send home with the folks. Tons of cheese, sausage, spinach, kale, garlic, herbs and more cheese. Yum!
I also bought a bag of peeled sliced apples. It feels lazy to buy them like that instead of just, you know, an apple, but I really enjoy snacking on the pre sliced apples that I can just grab and munch.
@knitknitread, I feel the same way! My big thing lately has been eating olives straight out of the jar. I'm usually more of a sweets person but pregnancy has made me love salt.
Also, I'm jealous of all you ladies who have started eating salad. It still has no appeal to me, and I used to eat salad all the time.

I have always liked olives, but in pregnancy I want plain green olives out of a jar and I can eat them non stop. Pre pregnancy I was a big sweets eater: cakes, candy, chocolate I loved it all. Now I am a big salty fan.
Tonight we had avocado and stinky fish sandwiches. It's just tuna or sardines mixed with mashed avocado. Tonight it was tuna. Buddy eats his plain and I salt and pepper mine. Yum! We don't eat it when hubby's home cause it grosses him out, but the toddler and I love it!
I’m still mostly wanting fruit and salt, but my stomach has been calm enough to try to even things out with protein sources! Hooray! @stothi DD and I had tuna melts for lunch twice this week. I loooooove making it with mashed avocado. It looks so gross, tastes so good. I make egg salad like that too!
We had friends over for dinner last week and I used that as an opportunity to make horseradish crusted beef tenderloin. Maybe it wasn’t quite well done (bad pregnant lady) but damn, it was delicious. I just can’t bring myself to ruin a beautiful cut of beef by cooking it all the way through.
@arbell615 that tenderloin sounds delicious! We do beef tenderloin for friends and family a couple times a year and I have never done a horseradish crusted one. Add that to my to do list.
Bagels and cream cheese, chocolate and peanut protein bars, bananas, soups and salads! Meat is still not on my wish list...basically carbs and cheese with the occasional fruit and veg! Still spratically getting sick, hoping week 15 brings a close to that chapter!
So, DH (who is a scientist by trade) just read an article about phthalates - and now I’m not allowed to eat fast food lol. Probably for the best. Are any of you super cautious about what you eat in terms of things like this, and if so, what packaged foods have you found to be safest? I’m a huge fan of Trader Joe’s packaged salads and frozen foods, but I’m wondering if these are risky as well. I’m absolutely too tired to make everything I eat from scratch lol. It’s just not happening. Thoughts on avoiding phthalates?
ETA this came up because I’m craving McDonald’s hash browns
@ashh2018 I'm team "life is risk." I just eat the food. Like, I don't eat day old sushi from a dumpster, but any foods that are fresh and served at the correct temperature, I eat. I don't do drugs, smoke or drink alcohol. I try to avoid chemicals like straight up vats of chemicals, so like I'm not going to pour insecticide from a jug into a sprayer and then spray away maskless in a breeze. But things like my regular dish soap or cleaning a counter with a Clorox wipe or using my regular shampoo, I just use as per usual. I eat the fast food. I will eat even more fast food once my husband is home to take over some of the "cooking" duty. FFFC- I stopped at the fast food chicken place and got fried chicken for second breakfast 2 days in a row this week. No regrets. I'd go again right now if I wasn't too tired to drag my toddler along with me.

I'm starting to think that I might as well start throwing salt in my mouth
And now I'm wanting to eat kraut straight out of the jar, haha.
