Sorry @CopperBoom86 but I couldn't wait. Forgive me!

My FFFC - I was looking at my "on this day" on FB and saw an old status that was something along the lines of "4 people offered me donuts today. Don't they know I am down 8 pounds and can't eat donuts!!" So all morning I couldn't stop thinking about donuts and HAD to have one from dunks this morning. It was SO GOOD.

My FFFC is that I'm already making a list of things I can use this pregnancy to get out of!!!
1.working out any given day
2.Social events that I have no interest in attending but would be obligated to if I weren't pregnant
3. Keeping my house super clean
4.having to go anywhere other than living room for the holidays
..... The possibilities are endless!!!

I have 2. First, yesterday I bought 2 pairs of maternity shorts from JC Penney because they were on sale for $10. I told DH I wouldn't buy anything until we at least saw the hb. Oops. $10 is an amazing price!

Second, I made a quiz for my students today because I want them to sit down, shut up, and practice. Seriously, if ONE MORE CHILD asks me if they are supposed to "divide by 2 on this one" I'm going to lose my shit on them. They have to find the area of a rectangle, triangle, or trapezoid. THEY GET A FREAKING FORMULA CHART TO USE. The laziness drives me bonkers.

I thought of another one. Being a FTM who is team green, I'm afraid I am going to be looking too into the old wives tales about what baby might be. I realize that they are just that, tales, and that they are not the end all be all, but I'm afraid that I will let them weigh on my mind. Lame I know, but something I was thinking about yesterday.

Worse dog owner ever: our schedule was way off this morning since me and two girls had to be out the door before my husband and youngest was up from 2-6 this morning for whatever reason. Anyway I normally do the feeding and letting out of house for our dogs but I didn’t even remember to try and coordinate with my husband (pregnancy sleep deprived brain). Both dogs are in basement area in cages due to age and house layout. I got back home from a crazy day around 1230 to hear my beagle howling and my heart just sunk.... nobody fed or let them out. There was pee and puke in both cages and I feel horrible. Then I also realize it’s national puppy day. Cue tears....

Hey @middleschoolmommy, maybe you have to actually teach them! With this and the UO I am feeling really sorry for your students. If you "can't help them" because the material is oh-so-simple, yet they aren't getting it (hint hint, not simple to them), ask a teacher who knows how to teach geometry and get lessons or pointers from them. Seriously. Jesus. They are asking questions, basically asking you to teach them--a miracle because they're more engaged with the material than you are--and you're blowing them off. Stop it.

As for the rest of you, donuts and shopping are not crack cocaine and shoplifting. These are not confessions.

I seriously can't believe that yesterday you're bragging about being online because geometry is too simple to teach, and today you're mad your "lazy" students are asking questions, and giving them a quiz to make them "shut up." Absolutely boggling.

And while I'm at it, my FFFC is that I side-eyed the shit out of you for saying that "regs are excited that they pissed here first" on that "rashes" thread. Seriously??? First of all, no one here is a "reg." This is still a fairly new board. There are people who are more active than others, but that's it. I made a post about organization early on that I had to delete because we decided it was pointless- no one is immune from a good "play by the rules" reminder. Second, no one on that thread was rude to her, at all. If anything we were super nice considering what a condescending little turd she was.

@tessiesmom26 I think those old wives tales are fun! They were almost all completely wrong for me, though. As were wives tales about other things, like, they say if the baby has hair, you'll have hella bad heartburn. I had zero heartburn and my baby had a head full of black hair! I was like "No, I didn't have heartburn; my baby's supposed to be bald."

I work my ass off to teach these kids. When I said yesterday that I didn't have to teach them, it's because I ALREADY HAVE TAUGHT THEM this subject for the past SIX DAYS. So yes, at this point, they should be able to figure out how to use a formula. You shouldn't assume that I haven't done anything for them.

When a TWELVE year old has a paper in FRONT OF THEIR FACE that lists the formula for the area of a rectangle, triangle, trapezoid. And I have gone over:
1. WHY that is the formula - because when you split a rectangle in half, you get a triangle, hence the base x height / 2.
2. We've learned how to solve equations already so they have learned how to plug in numbers and solve for a missing variable.
3. Where to find the formula (on their reference chart!)
And they STILL come up to ask me "which shape do I divide by 2?".... that is 100% THEY ARE BEING LAZY. You said you are a professor, so you are not familiar with children. They will do as little as possible when they think they can get away with it. Which also stems from their parents not prioritizing school (I am in a VERY low socioeconomic district), to the point at which they ignore phone calls and attempts to get them involved.

So thank you, for assuming and presuming, to tell me how to do my job. Since you are here with me daily and know my students WAY better than I do. **Removed for TOU violation**

@CopperBoom86 Of course you did, you were one of the people that shade was directed at. "Snark" is usually just shittiness that falls within certain community-accepted boundaries. "No one was rude" is a tired cliche. Regs--and yes you're a reg, on the Bump in general, not just the board--often intentionally insult noobs and then get condescending when they are in fact insulted. It's the circle of "snark."

You can WK @middleschoolmommy if you want, but the truth is with the way she talks about her students, nobody here would be thrilled to have a kid in her class. I doubt this is her come-to-jesus, but if it were it could only benefit both her and her students. Besides, she knows it's BS already or it wouldn't be in a confessions thread.

@middleschoolmommy I only know what you post. You represented yourself as not teaching because you considered the subject matter easy. You insulted and blamed your students for being confused. I am disappointed that you aren't interested in doing better.

You are assuming I've never taught children. I have (low socioeconomic). You'd be surprised how similar the fundamentals are.

No, you weren't just being snarky, you were being rude, making complete assumptions about what type of teacher @middleschoolmommy is. And while WK'ing is not usually my thing, I don't mind stepping in because your comments were completely uncalled for.

Yup. @argyleagain when a child is being lazy, I'll call them lazy. That's not insulting. I also did not blame anyone for being confused. I blamed them for being lazy. I said they were getting a quiz (not only to keep them quite) to make the PRACTICE. Which, as a teacher, you understand the necessity of practicing skills. Unfortunately, a good chunk of my students will not do this if they don't believe it's not going to be a grade. So that's why the quiz.

You are right in me not being interested in whatever you belive is "doing better", because you made assumptions and were rude.

Also as teacher, you should 100% understand being tired towards the end of the year, annoyed at saying the same thing over and over, and, at times, wanting students to be quite (especially if you are not feeling well). So yes, it lead me to assume that you are unfamiliar with the situation since you decided to attack from your high horse.

They weren't just assumptions. I let it go in the UO thread and she posted about it again. The stuff she posted was not a-okay.

QFP. And I'm just like so confused. You're accusing @CopperBoom86 of being shitty while being shitty yourself? That's not much of an argument. You're claiming about "regs" insulting "noobs," but you're seriously insulting people right now, so you're just as much at fault as anyone else might be.
Who are you to say who is a regular and who is not? Why does that even matter? How is that even a part of this conversation? We are not a clique of popular and unpopular people. We're a community of women all in this together. FWIW, you as a self-proclaimed "non-reg" are being so much more rude than anyone I have seen on this BMB so far. So to say that "regs" are the shitty ones is false.
Also, FFFC is to confess whatever the eff you want. If it's donuts and shopping, who the hell cares. I didn't see you come up with a confession about doing crack or shoplifting. Why judge us when you can't come up with anything yourself?

I think it's silly to "confess" to things like eating food. There is literally nothing wrong with that. I don't know why anyone cares that I think that. It's not a big deal. And I think I've gotten enough flame today without digging for a confession.

I'm not sure why the treatment of new posters by more experienced ones is a topic that bothers you so much. My opinion on snark is not about @CopperBoom86. It's bump-wide, probably internet-wide. You're putting all kinds of thoughts in my head and words in my mouth that weren't there, on a topic which, hello, I didn't bring up. I really don't care who's a reg and who's not. I can be one if you want, I was here before. It doesn't matter.
