I gave up dairy in the fall of 2016 because GI issues galore. It really helped, so I've basically not eaten, with a few exceptions here and there, ever since. It was SO hard because I could seriously eat cheese all day everyday.
I have been craving it, so I've been eating it - not everyday, but more often than I have in forever and I am not feeling crappy with doing so. I've read that lactose intolerance can decrease with pregnancy, so I plan on taking full advantage. I'm just hoping I don't end up regretting my decisions.
@lolog531 ugh, girl! I know how tough that is! I gave up dairy a little over a year ago to see if it would help with my fibroids (because of the hormones and all). We decided not to put off having the surgery and once they were removed, I went right back to dairy because cheese is life. I try not to go too crazy with it but most days when I’m pregnant, I crave milk so much!
@mrs_drc_rn I'm glad I'm not alone!! I'm trying not to go too crazy, but it has been nice to have it and not feel so horrible afterwards! I'm just hoping I can still tolerate it in small amounts post pregnancy!

I have a friend who had a bunch of food intolerances before pregnancy that all went away and never came back!
I gave up drinking milk a couple of years ago, as it'd give me some nasty GI upsets. I'd still eat aged cheeses, butter, and yogurt...but the lactose in those was pretty minimal. But I've been chugging unhomogenized whole milk for a couple of months now and I haven't been noticing any ill effects, which has been nice.
I second the soda. So bad and I never drink it or buy it in the house but this pregnancy I feel like I need one like 2x a week. Specifically dr. Pepper which is what I used to drink in my youth.
Sprite was my biggest drink craving with both boys and this time it's Dr. Pepper. I don't understand, I don't drink either of them when I'm not KU. I just had a Dr. Pepper with lunch and it was so satisfying.
I had a grilled chicken club sandwich with extra honey mustard for lunch and it was so good,I am so content! I have still been loving lemonade and peanut butter and apples. DH bought me these weird chewy candies at TJ's yesterday to be cute because they were bunnies and he calls me Bunny but they were not sour and were kind of gross, I felt bad for not eating them but no need to imbibe all that sugar for no reason.

So I just ate a Hunts snack pack chocolate pudding which normally would be pretty horrifying but pregnant it was just as good as Pot De Creme (a fancy smancy chocolate dessert). Seriously what is it with all the childhood things?

Oh my word, you ladies are speaking to my heart!! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd breakfast- I'm so glad I'm not alone!
Weird meats. My husband is a certified executive chef... so I'm spoiled with the glorious eats he prepares. Half the time I can't do it and eat a hot dog and Mac and cheese instead... or ham salad... or worse, meat sticks.
My latest fave is lunch - I always struggle with lunch and with this pregnancy even more so. So I’ve been eating crap. With my youngest I craved meat and ate a rare roast beef sandwich every day - on good bread that I hide and don’t share, with a slice of American, miracle whip, tomato and crisp Romaine. With the nausea it has not sounded remotely appealing but finally did again and OMG SO FREAKIN GOOD. I know I know deli meat, rare etc but I don’t worry too much about those. What stinks is I know the meat doesn’t keep long do I have to buy more every couple days.
That and allllll the Cadbury eggs, regular and caramel mmmm
I love creamsicles and haven’t had one in years! DH surprised me and brought me home a slice of Oreo cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory since I mentioned it a few days ago. All the heart eyes!
Manzanilla olives and white cheddar of some sort has been my jam lately. Tonight I think I’m going to a local pupuseria and arepa restaurant (Colombian and El Salvadorian) with a friend. It’s so delicious and I cannot wait.
Pop Tarts are my jam right now! As long as they have chocolate in them.... but I’ve been trying to be healthier. The church where DS’s school is offers shelter during a Code Blue. They sent out a list of food that was needed and pop tarts was on there. I may or may not have used that as an excuse to get myself a box as well...
@jsnakehole mmmm spaetzle.... DH and I spent a few weeks in Europe for our honeymoon and part of that trip was Oktoberfest in Munich. I just want to go back there for the spaetzle!
Strawberry frosted pop tarts are amazing right now. And still all the bagels.
Im with everyone else who mentioned they want all the food from their childhood. I feel like I’m only really craving junk food I ate as a kid. And as I wrote this I can’t help but think how good bagel bites would be.
Speaking of childhood food, Birds Eye used to make green beans and spaetzle. It was super buttery and had little pieces of bacon in it and barely qualified as a vegetable. I've been looking everywhere for it, especially since I got pregnant, and I can't find it anywhere. I tried recreating it and it just wasn't the same. One of the significant bummers of my life.

Re: What my pregnant self is eating 3/19
I just ate two donuts and a mini muffin for breakfast. This is what happens when you put the pregnant lady in charge of office breakfast.

I had a glass if cherry 7 up at my mom's on a whim today and it was ridiculously satisfying. I rarely drink pop and loved how bubbly it was.
