Currently in the city on St. Patrick's Day, which, as a native New Yorker who has survived more than one green puke filled parade, not my ideal place to be. I bet we can all guess whose idea this one was.
I feel bad, because the husband isn't bad and DH and I think he realizes his wife kind of sucks.
I wish going home and going to bed was the next step on the agenda.
Creepily going to smile at every pregnant lady I see in case it’s you
@calimom2524 So glad you and baby are okay. @jsnakehole I'm sorry you're dealing with those guests especially with H not feeling well. Hang in there.
Ugh, I over did it today and I'm so tired. I just tried to fit too many errands in one day. I was productive though. I also have nursery envy. We are moving in June so I have to wait a while before I set up. I'll have everything picked up by then and will get some things before that but it doesn't make sense to get furniture now just to move it.

@calimom2524 Ugh, how scary! I'm so glad you and CFS are on the mend. Did you figure out if it was a stomach bug or food poisoning?
@jsnakehole That's a whole lot of nope for me. Hopefully you can go home and rest.
AFM, my husband and I went out to dinner tonight, just the two of us, which is pretty rare. He's a penny pincher and prefers my cooking, so we usually don't eat out unless it's a special occasion thing with family.
But I'm craving fried catfish something awful, so I dragged him over to a little dive of a place on the confluence of Wabash and White Rivers in Southern Illinois. It's not fancy, it looks sketchy, but it's got great food for cheap. Oh, and it looked like this last week, lol.
Hi ladies! Popping in quick to say hello. Sounds like everyone is having a good weekend so far!
We ran errands this morning, did some yard work while DS ran around and attempted to help, got a few things done around the house. I made corned beef for dinner and now we are relaxing watching basketball! Also, got my hair cut and colored today. First color in forever and cut into has been a few months. Ended up going a little shorter than I wanted, but I can still rock a pony tail which is the only must for me!
DH and I spent 4 hours at the car dealership today (mostly waiting around) and are now in bed (he and DS are asleep). That was literally the most alone time I’ve had with him in weeks. I guess I’ll take what I can get
I finally was able to find the HB with my Doppler tonight!!!!! With my tilted uterus it has been a struggle. I tried last week after my appt and the OB finding it right away, but still no luck. Tried again tonight and after a minute or so bam! There it was! 16+1 and not feeling movement, so it was nice to get a bit of reassurance and hear that beautiful sound!
@lolog531 Nice! Mine gas been consistently in the same general area. But it moves around so much now that I don't get much more than a few seconds of good audible heartbeat, then the sounds of it moving, and then it's gone. Heh
Which reminds me, I'm pretty sure I felt the first real kick this morning. I rolled over on my stomach briefly, to stretch in a different position, and as I was hitching my right leg up to kind of elevate my abdomen a bit, I felt a very noticeable kick in the same area where I usually find the heartbeat. I guess Lil Bean didn't think too highly of my stretching position.
Went to the neighborhood st pats party bc dh really wanted to, glad I had the excuse to leave early. I was fine but... sober. Kids were up late last night (we babysat my nieces and my sis returned the favor tonight) and I didn’t want them up super late again.
he stayed and can just walk home so now I’m in pjs, with cocoa and an oatmeal scotchies I have squirreled away in the freezer. Not bad!
It was funny thoygh bc the whole neighborhood hasnt heard im pregnabg and I’m at that point where I look pregnant enough for ppl to think I am but a normal person with a brain wouldn’t ask, and it’s sort of awkward justbtp be like ‘hey! I live down the road, I think we met at the holiday party btw I’m pregnant”
Just checking in quickly and wanted to say hi! After 22000 steps today according to my fitbit, I'm a bit worn out. Vancouver is wonderful though and we had some excellent weather to explore the city today!
@calimom2524 so glad you are okay! @jsnakehole those guests seem like an absolute nightmare. I hope you get your reprieve soon. @amac12999 hooray for a successful potty training day!
So we ended up at a Knicks game, which meant I was mostly looking at Buy Buy Baby and messaging with my cousin. And eating lots of popcorn.
DH dropped me off at the house because they insisted on going to a bar, so he compromised and said he'd take them for one drink in our neck of the woods so I can get home and get my rest.
I'm looking forward to cuddling up with my fur babies and some Kimmy Schmidt.

@jsnakehole I wish I could have traded places with you! They were playing my team . I mean, I know the Knicks won, but the Mavs have lost every other game I’ve been to, so I’m used to it.
A little boy around 8 or 9 saw me at the skating rink, and we had this conversation:
Him: "Excuse me, can I ask you a question?" Me: "Sure." Him: "Are you pregnant?" Me: "Yep!" H: "Then why are you skating?!" M: "Because I need the exercise, especially when I'm pregnant." H: "Are you here alone?" M: "Yep, just me today." H: "Oh, well you can join my group if you want!" M: "Thanks, but I'm pretty tired and I think I'll head home after this."
This was technically the first stranger to ask if I'm pregnant, but he was really cute.

@pghctwife Yes! I keep running into people I don't know very well, especially at work, and it feels super awkward to not mention the obvious bump, but "btw, I'm pregnant" just feels awkward to throw out there unprompted. I keep hoping someone will just say "what's new?" and then I'll have a reason to bring it up. But no one says that. Somehow "well, I'm pregnant" doesn't feel like the right answer to "how's it going?"
As for me, we're visiting my parents for the weekend. It's been fun, but DS hit fun overload halfway through dinner at a restaurant. His coping mechanism is to sit quietly in the middle of the floor and pout. He generally moves closer to the table when you ask, so it's not as bad as it could be. And my sister is here, and she drives me nuts in a way that I can't explain to anyone who didn't live with her as a teenager. I would have really liked to see my parents without her here. And now to bed. We have DS's crib in our room (because my sister is here in the other room!) so we'll see how well we all sleep.
I’ve been up since DH’s alarm went off at 4am. I pulled out all DS’s old CD’s, checked to see what was still good, and washed everything in a load with my kitchen & cleaning towels. They’re in the dryer now, and I can’t wait to see how they come out! I used Tide powder for the first time, and I think I’ll switch to it. It makes the laundry smell really nice, and it works as well, if not better, than my liquid detergent.
We have district Pinewood Derby after DH gets home from work. Then grocery shopping at Aldi & WM and a stop at Home Depot. I’m hoping all that doesn’t take the entire afternoon. We have soooo much work to do at home.
I’m jealous of everyone getting their CD stash together. DH still isn’t 100% on board, so not sure if we will be trying. Although I’m thinking I’ll just buy some and start using them and he’ll figure out it’s not so bad! Side note, he is the laundry person in our house, so washing would fall to him, so I do try to understand his point of view.
AFM- today we are having friends and family over to shoot off confetti canons and see if baby is a boy or girl. After our very eventful news from the a/s scan, it’ll be nice to just celebrate baby for a day.
@kc0711 My DH wasn’t sure about them either. When DS was big enough for pockets, I bought some Kawaii pockets and started using them. DS saw how easy it was and went along with it. He really liked them when he realized our dogs didn’t tear them to pieces like they did with dirty disposable diapers.
I washed my CD’s with Tide powder, a long wash cycle with a prewash and 2nd rinse, all push-button settings on my front load washer. If DH took them out of the dryer, I just told him to make sure everything was dry and put them in a laundry basket. I stuffed the inserts into the pockets and put them away. After the pocket diapers were stuffed, they were like using disposables. I did 99% of the laundry work, but as DS got older DH learned more and slowly figured it out. So in theory, if your H wasn’t sold on them, you could get everything ready to go in the wash and have him leave it all in a basket for you to sort out.
@melprop that’s a good idea. DH does the laundry (well honestly he does most of the chores around the house, he works from home and I don’t so he takes care of that) but I am the laundry sorter and folder only. So hypothetically it wouldn’t change our arrangement if he just tossed what I sorted into the washer and I folded it after. Maybe once LO is a little older we’ll give it a go!
Gonna be on a first name basis with the ER at this rate. Headed there with DS2 now because he swallowed a magnet and doesn’t know if he swallowed more than one.
@calimom2524 Let us know what happens! I was that kid for my mom- I ate a lot of things I wasn't supposed to.
I am currently laying in bed, eating chocolates, and doing schoolwork while watching my cats play fight/sleep on each other at my feet. DH got us out of lunch with our guests because the kid he tutors needed help with a paper. They're working in my living room. DH is also going to make dinner tonight. I am going to stay in my pajamas and not move except to get papers from my printer all day. I'm also feeling my little guy squirm around a bunch, which is awesome. I'm glad he also appreciates a lazy day.

Oh man @calimom2524! I hope they're able to get the magnet(s) out quickly. And I'm glad they were able to stop your PTL!!
We went to the park this morning which was so nice because it was only 50 degrees, and empty because people in SoCal are scared of the cold (kidding, kidding, but seriously, that's short sleeve weather for this CO girl). Got lunch on the way home and DS is now hopefully going to nap. Going out to dinner at Red Robin tonight, which we attempted last night but after no nap, DS threw a massive tantrum as we were getting ready to leave, so we decided to stay home instead. It's a good thing we did because after my 3 days of constipation, the gates finally opened

Trying to pack for Florida. Fighting my 3rd freaking UTI. At this point, I think doc needs to put me on a low dose antibiotic just permanently until the pregnancy is complete. I’ve always had kidney probs. Never to this extent, while pregnant, prolly old age catching up with me.
I know SO is looking forward to us joining him in FL for a couple weeks but I am not. Hahaha. We did just buy a brand new travel trailer. It’s gorgeous. Fun for a weekend. Not so much fun for a couple weeks. Hopefully the weather stays nice.
Swallowed a magnet?? It makes me giggle a little because it's real life and I can imagine the look on my face if my son came and told me he swallowed a magnet. I'd probably just tell him to be careful near the fridge or he might get stuck to it.

If it’s more than one magnet, it’s extremely dangerous and not at all funny.
Yeah I rushed him to the ER because if it’s more than one magnet the damage to their insides can literally be life threatening, magnets and batteries are the most dangerous things a kid can swallow. Thanks for checking on us y’all, they confirmed it’s only one magnet so he has to go back to his pediatrician tomorrow for a follow up X-ray to make sure it’s moving through him unless it comes out before then. That was terrifying.
Back to back scrimmages today, adults and then juniors, for a total of 5 hours skating. My feet are killing me! I'm beyond ready for a nap, and looking forward to my first real ultrasound tomorrow.
