Ok look, I have no dog in this fight as I never donated any money. But here are some very basic facts. Women in our FB group were super supportive during Emma's illness (which is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, and I'm so happy that she's doing well now), and the the other personal issues you told us about, but then as soon as your need for support ended, you left the group instead of sticking around to lend support to the women that supported you. THAT is what people are upset about, not the money.
Any person who wasn't lying would have just rolled her eyes, flipped her hair, blocked the shit out of the few girls she had friended on FB, walked away, and never looked back. The fact that you were called out for what appeared to be massive inconsistencies in your stories via PRIVATE message from a person that you don't even know IRL should not have caused the shitstorm that commenced.
Also, FYI, the "cease and desist" notice from your "high powered attorney" was pretty questionable given that he doesn't appear to know the difference between the terms "libel" and "slander," and the only way to enforce a cease and desist would be a pricey court battle, which I doubt someone with an alleged $70k in medical debt could afford to wage. Additionally, to slander someone, public claims would have to be made against them, and that hasn't been done.
Which brings me to my most relevant point. Why post here, in a public forum that has been largely dead for MONTHS, when basically the only active participants would also be on th FB group? I figure either A) you are unstable, in which case I truly hope you get the help that you need for the sake of your children, or someone pointed out that for it to be slander, you'd have to be publicly called out, and this is a public forum. So you'll notice that I have given zero specifics here and have actually accused you of nothing.
The entire FB group has walked away from this situation, and you and your husband are the only people continuing to contact anyone about any of it since about 24 hours ago. Let it go. No one cares at this point if you are in fact a liar, no one plans to publicly accuse you of anything. We just want your little girl to continue to thrive and for you to get any help you might need. Seriously, stand down. All of us are over this except for you. I don't understand why you feel the need to clear your name in this public forum where no one outside the FB group would even know your actual name, but you do you I guess. I wish you all the best.
