It's DSS's birthday and I just remembered. And I even saw him this morning before leaving for work and didn't say anything. Granted, he woke up puking everywhere but still... I suck
@mrsbubbles-2 Oh no! It happens though. Can you you do something special later to make up for it? Or call him and say with everything going on it slipped my mind?
@laufisch Haha, I certainly don't feel bad about eating bagels since I seem to have an addiction to them right now. It was more my choice that I decided I needed two forms of breakfast carbs this morning.
I totally get some pleasure out of the fact that there are only 2 females in our office March Madness pool and we are in 1st and 2nd place right now. Take notes boys
I've got one that will surely freak some of our germophobes out. I don't always wash my hands when I go to the bathroom. It's definitely 50/50. Sorry if you don't want to be my friend anymore. Go ahead and flame away, not gonna make me change my ways
@mrsbubbles-2 The pot of gold! (money) but I could care less about that. to me it's all about the bragging rights! All these fancy statistical geniuses think they have some magic formula. Boom.
@Brezzy1928 - so I called DH like OMG IT'S DSS's B-DAY AND I FORGOT and told him to tell DSS Happy Birthday and we love him... DH did. And DSS was like it's not my birthday today.
I. Suck.
@rocknrollmom - how do you feel about E Z Cheez? Because I'm snacking on Ritz and Cheez and I'm a happy girl
@livinthesunnylife - I'm officially cheering for whatever teams are in your bracket then I have no March Madness affiliation so I just tend to cheer for whatever team is the underdog in that particular game. Or if someone on the team is especially cute. Or if I like the color of their uniforms.
@mrsbubbles-2 oh shoot, when is his actual bday lol. Blame it on pregnancy brain! And you can keep your plastic ez cheese to yourself
I'll take all the feta, blue, goat, mozzarella, and any other cheeses. Nom nom nom. I was vegan for a few years but had to dial it back to vegetarian so I could eat cheese.
It's the 18th. The funny thing is that earlier this week H was talking about DSS's birthday coming up and said something about the 18th. I was like no, it's the 16th and stood there all annoyed that H didn't know his son's birthday.
I love Kraft cheese slices, although we call it "dog cheese" around here, since it's often the conveyance of choice for dog pills. Nothing makes a grilled cheese like Kraft slices on "foam bread". heh
Fake cheese is nasty! We don't even have any in our house. But we have real parm, real feta, real shredded cheese, real sliced cheese. Costco has the best selection
DH made me take my cheez in a can to work so he didn't have to see it lol!
I don't discriminate - I love all cheese! And hells yes @livinthesunnylife - I think I could live in Costco for like 3 or 4 weeks just in their deli and cheese sections. And wine when not growing tiny humans.
Oh - one exception to the cheese thing - there's this "product" here in St. Louis called Provel and it's horrible. I think it's supposed to be a provolone / mozzarella blend but it's grainy and greasy and gets stuck to the back of your teeth. I don't allow it in my house.
I have found my cheese nerd people!! H thinks the only ‘cheese’ worth eating is American or out of the spray can. Ugh.
My FFFC is that I have a softball game today, and didn’t need to leave until like 1:20ish, but since it was changed yesterday I didn’t change my sub. So I’m off work at 11:30 this morning!

I will eat any cheese. I love cheese. We don’t have American often, but DH prefers it for melting in grilled cheese and on top of spaghetti. Thankfully DS agrees with me that almost all cheese is amazing.
I’ve never been to a Costco, but I went into a Kroger when we visited SIL near Dallas. They had a cheese counter larger than any deli I have here. I bought so much cheese and brought it back in the cooler. Told DH I could be persuaded to move down there for the Kroger.
During my last pregnancy, I was on vacation and grocery shopping with my friend who had just found out she was pregnant. We were talking about foods, etc and my advice was:
“I try to eat a bagel every day.”
I still think this is the best advice I’ve ever given anyone.
I constantly wish it was still acceptable (and safe) to leave kids in the car while you went into a store. Yesterday I needed just a gallon of milk. I stopped at a convenience store. Got DS1 (4) out, got DS2 (16M) out, lugged DS2 on my hip, picked up the gallon, didn't dare put DS2 down because he'd run off and that would be my next problem. Dug around the diaper bag for my wallet, paid (at this point out of breath), yelled at DS1 to hold on to my shirt because my hands were now full, and loaded them back in the car.
Our parents had it so easy. They could leave all the kids in the car all the times.
@F47 I had this same dilemma the other day. I just needed to put a package in the Priority mail box at the post office which isn't a drive thru. And I was so frustrated by having to take DS out of the car to do it. He would be fine, but people would call the police on me.

THIS^^ I loath having to unload everyone for an actual 2 minute trip to grab a snack for everyone, or just so I can pee. I have ‘found’ a way around it. I have a key that will only unlock to doors of the car. So that key sits in the car at all times, and if something comes up, the kids can stay buckled in with car&heat/ac running while I grab that 1 thing.

@mrsbubbles-2 Today is my daughter’s birthday. She’s 8!!! But for some reason I always think it is the 18th. I always know it to be the day NEXT to St.Patrick’s day. Smh. But I did tell her this morning only because we packed up goodie bags for school last night.
But I’m her mom. She was birthed from my vagina. Lol. I have no excuses.

For sure. I brought this up in my other BMB group and a girl said her friend had CPS called on her for running in to pick up a carry out order. Her kids were 11 and 3 at the time.
Maybe because it's more rural and laid back here, but I see kids in parked cars at gas stations, liquor stores, post office, carry-out type food places, etc and no one bats an eye. Honestly I think people have gotten way too crazy about it anyway, as long as the doors are locked, the temperature isn't extreme, and the kiddo is calm and peaceful, what's the honest harm with a short sit. Hell, my friends in Norway leave their baby in its stroller on the sidewalk outside a store, alone, in all sorts of weather, and...nothing happens.
I'll probably be one of those "horrible mothers" and do it for a less than 5 minute thing, but then again I have dark tinted windows on my truck and no one can see in. It's how I get away with my dog traveling all over the place, I crack the windows if it's nice out, lock the doors, and he just curls up and goes to sleep. No one knows he's there, because he doesn't bark at people, or otherwise draw attention to himself.

@melbel0824 you had me worried. Bagels are like a staple food for me. My favorite is pumpernickel

@juliebird6 - I'll still be your friend
Aaaaand today is NOT my DSS's birthday. How did I mix up the 16th and the 18th?
On a totally unrelated note, can someone point me towards WTF Wednesday?
