Re: Randomly Randoms {3/12}

  • Nope nope nope, not reading the bathtub story. The wheelchair story made me think I probably desire a csection and one more story like that will probably leave me begging for one.

  • @amys614 Yup. Stay away. The bathtub story is horrendous.
  • Thanks, y'all! Keep 'em coming. This day is becoming slightly more bearable.

(This one hurt my side from laughing so much.)
What did the Buddhist say to the hot dog vendor?
    Make me one with everything.

Why does a Moon rock taste better than an Earth rock?
    Because it's a little meteor.

What did the fish say when he swam into the wall?
    Dam.
  • You're all making a GREAT start to my day  :D

  • doxiemoxie212 - can you stalk the hospital's website, pre-register, but print out a copy of the paperwork as well to keep in your purse to just hand to them if they try to jerk you around?

I ended up texting my L&D nurse friend who is at the hospital that we want to go to and asked if going to a different hospital creates utter chaos.  She said it kind of does and I should probably switch docs (soon) if that is where we really want to go.  Ugh.  THat sounds like a PITA and I really like my doc so I would feel guilty.

Both hospitals are in the same network (my doc just has privileges at one of them) so I registered online yesterday at the "wrong" one by "accident" and printed out a copy of the registration paperwork that I'll fax to the "right" one and I'll keep an extra set in my purse for backup.  *shurgs* I guess we'll just see how everything plays out.

  • Ugh, guys...are the icons by everyone's usernames broken for you again, too? It is so annoying.

  • @LaceyBee522 they're fine for me (on my laptop, a mac, using chrome)
  • @LaceyBee522 I've got icons on mobile.

28 weeks today and my bump article is a third tri checklist. Reading over it gave me a little bit of a panic attack. I'm just so behind and know it'll be weeks before I can start doing so much of that stuff. Hopefully this boy overcooks a little cause I am stressed. *deep breaths*

  • DH had lasik done yesterday, and was supposed to come home today but has to stay another night. I'm bummed. He's been gone since Tuesday.
Also I'm not feeling 100% so maybe that's part of the problem

@LaceyBee522 they were broken for me- but I refreshed and they are back.  Hopefully yours fixed as well.

Love the dad jokes today!  I'll have to share them all with DH.

I had my 28 week appointment today- including the dreaded glucose test.  The hospital/ dr office (which is located at the hospital) just upgrade to a new computer system.  No one knew how to do anything... checking in for the GD test was painful and made me 15 minutes late to my dr appointment, which I had to wait another 15 minutes for once I got to the office.  I am moving to every 2 week appointments now, and my 30 weeks appointment will be a busy one- Dtap, growth u/s, and my first appointment with a different doctor in the practice. HOPEFULLY the computer issues are done by then- otherwise it will be a very painful day.

  • @MissKittyDanger It's day surgery here too, but the hospital is 3 hours away. So he's staying at a hotel, so he doesn't have to keep driving down.
  • May14th2011            - I had it done in August and love it.  WHy did he have to stay another night?
  • @kmurdock925 something about the flap on his eye. They have to redo it and check it again in the morning
  • so we all know sleeping is rough. but when you're trying to stay on your left side.. not only am I having to keep readjusting cause of hip pain, but I got my tdap in my left arm yesterday. and it decided to be sore over night.. as I'm laying on it!

  • @catlady1215 I think the left side reco is sort of outdated. I think it’s thought that some pregnant women can only get comfortable on their left side but if that isn’t you (ie, you are comfortable in other positions) do those, esp if right side is comfy.
  • @catlady1215 ditto to @doxiemoxie212 I was telling the midwife about my hip pain and she said to definitely alternate sides.

Also I think @LaceyBee522 mentioned it in another thread but sometimes the only relief I get from my hips and to be able to get some sleep is on my back.

  • @doxiemoxie212 sadly I've never been a right side sleeper. Only left. I do back sometimes, but try not to lay like that all night.

  • @catlady1215 I believe the left side recommendation is just to keep pressure off of your liver and to help with reflux/heartburn.  I definitely start on my right, switch to my back, and around 3am switch to my left lol I figure as long as i'm sleeping, i'm good, and my body will tell me otherwise haha

  • @krashke @sunshineandwhiskey if I'm on the couch, I can do right side. But in bed, I couldn't tell you the last time I slept on my right side. its awkward and uncomfortable to me.

  • May14th2011 - eek!  Hope all goes well!  Fortunately recovery is really quick, assuming the re-do doesn't change anything.
  • @BurlapandLace lol that's too cute. I often think that's what my dog thinks of me. He likes napping on the stone floor of one of our bathrooms and when I go in there (hourly) he side eyes me like wha-the... Use the other bathroom lol!
  • That moment your two year old says “Momma,
you going potty AGAIN?! You just goed potty!”  Yes bud, I’m aware. Thanks. Even my two year old is annoyed by how frequently I am peeing  :D
    Lol! Gotta love kids :')

My cats try to join me. "You're peeing again? You need company"
