Had a regular check-up with the midwife today. I'm only10 weeks 4 days so I didn't think we'd be able to hear the heartbeat today, but there it was! Strong and steady What a beautiful sound
I have an appointment with the urologist on Thursday. Just looked up the ultrasound of my kidneys online and it seems worse than my OB mentioned. For those that haven't saw me mention it before, I have a pelvic right kidney that I didn't know I had until my first ultrasound on 1/2 that could possibly cause me to have a stent put in closer to delivery.
I have my 12 week appointment tomorrow (even though I’m 13 weeks already). I’m really nervous since everyone at work already knows and if it doesn’t go well, that’s going to be really uncomfortable
Sorry to hear about your kidney @smsaulino.. that is good they found it though!
I have my first OB appt tomorrow morning! (I have had an intake appt with the nurse and an ultrasound but haven't seen my OB) I am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again! I am also probably going to be booking an appt for the Maternity21 test hopefully soon.

NT scan this mornign went great! Perfect measurements and baby sister was jumping around and showing off for us! It was pretty cute but now I’m exhausted just thinking about September and having 2 kids.
Had my 12 week appt yesterday. Dr couldn't find the heartbeat (could for a split second) with the dopler so then she brought in a tiny little ultrasound and we could see the baby and the flicker of the heartbeat. Super nervous in that 30 seconds, but felt relieved when we could see the baby. Dr said that 12 weeks it's still so little so it's not uncommon not to be able to hear it with the doppler.
Appointment this morning went great. DH was able to come and hear the heartbeat which was fantastic. We got our next appointment scheduled as well as the 20 week anatomy scan. Also found out I’m not a carrier for CF, so that was good news.
I thought I was just doing a paperwork meeting today, but had my first appointment with my home birth midwife we just contracted. Everything is right on track, we're at 13+4, and got to here the little larva with the Doppler.

I hope that you get to have your homebirth this time! Do they feel comfortable doing a VBAC at home?
@smsaulino I’m sorry to hear about your kidney complication. Hopefully things go well at the urologist and it doesn’t turn into a bigger problem down the road during pregnancy.
AFM- had my first appointment yesterday with the regular OB. Due date was moved to 9/29. So far everything looks good. Just waiting for cfDNA. NT scan at the end of next week.
@BostonBaby1 Thanks! She's very comfortable and does a lot of them, assuming dangerous complications don't appear later. I'm also going to be meeting monthly with a great VBAC/gentle c section OB as well, similar to the idea of meeting with both a regular doc and an MFM for high risk mommas, so that if I end up in pre term labor again, or placenta previa or anything else that makes home birth and/or vaginal birth unsafe I will still have someone that I know.
And congrats! Sounds like things are going smooth, which is a blessing!
ETA because spelling and bump ate my last sentence.

NT scan bright and early tomorrow morning! Need my in-laws to babysit DS on Friday morning when we go to our home inspection, so we're going to bring him along with us. As much as I do want DH to come with me since this is an important appointment, I'm actually looking forward to having some non-exciting appointments over the next few months that I'll feel comfortable going to alone. It's just such a hassle to bring DS to this office that ALWAYS has loooong wait times.
Engaged 12/2013 Married 5/2015 BFP 11/27/2015 - EDD 8/4/2016 Baby Boy born 8/13/2016 ~ 8lbs 7oz BFP 1/6/2018 - EDD 9/19/2018
I have my NT scan and first ob appointment tomorrow. I was stressed to begging with, but life is just really throwing a shitstorm at us: my cfDNA results didn’t come back so I took the test again and waiting again; I came down with a totally sudden, no warning at all, stomach virus yesterday and while I’ve been feeling better I’ve barely eaten any food in 24 hours and still feel like crap; my husband took our toddler to the doc today after daycare and it turns out she has conjunctivitis and a double ear infection. She’s miserable, so no school tomorrow.
So now I’m going to have to go to the NT scan alone, and I’m so worried. And of course a massive storm is supposed to be coming in so I’ll likeky have to drive home in the snow.
@MandyMost I sorry to your husband can’t make it to your scan. Mine had to miss my dating ultrasound because he was home with our sick toddler and I was so nervous. Good luck tomorrow!
@MandyMost (((creepy Hugs))) Fx the storm doesn’t hit too hard. Are you near me? We all had that viral gastritis. Not pleasant. And poor baby. That just sounds like a lot for a toddler.
@MandyMost is there any way that another family member can go with you? my husband couldn't get off for the 8 week appt so our aunt went with me instead.
Thanks all. @BostonBaby1 yes, near you! And @smsaulino if I had notice to have someone come with me I’m sure it would have worked out, but everyone in my family works so they’d have to call in sick, which I just can’t ask them to do. I’m just North of Boston and my entire family is South of Boston, so it makes sporadic things like this tough with traffic etc, never mind the nor’easter we’re getting today.
Just got back from my NT scan and all results came back great (had the ultrascreen bloodwork done a few weeks ago). Low risk for everything they were looking for. Next appt. scheduled for 4 weeks from now, and then 2 weeks after that will be the anatomy scan!

I had my NT scan yesterday at 12+3 and all went well which is a huge relief. I found out in May that I had a MMC at my 12 week appointment so I am definitely feeling a little better now. I should have the results of my blood work in about a week.

I had my 14 week appointment yesterday and when the OB listened for the heartbeat with the Doppler, my 5 year old (because of course I had both kids in tow) said “That’s a beautiful heartbeat!” She was so genuine and excited, my OB looked at me and had tears in her eyes and said “it is beautiful! What a good big sister you are!”
I also had my first glucose test (I have to test early bc I had GD with my 1st pregnancy) and I passed it - which is awesome! That damn drink made me sick all day though!
I had my 12 week appointment today with my OB (despite launching into 13w from my NT Scan). We reviewed the results of the blood draw and my PAPP-A was low, so I'm now considered a high risk pregnancy. At 16 weeks I'll see my OB and then get a plan for the additional screens and start seeing a perinatologist. She did say I will not be allowed to go passed 39 weeks, and that once I hit third tri, we'll be doing weekly growth scans. Also starting a baby asprin daily since I was borderline pre-e last pregnancy. Luckily it sounds like once the baby is out, everything will be good...just this will be kind of a rough ride.
@Patience7150 were you expecting this at all? I imagine that's tough to digest, I'm sorry you're in for a rough ride! I hope things go better than expected though, will be keeping you in my thoughts ❤.
@Patience7150 what's PAPP-A? My midwife is going to have me take baby aspirin since I had severe pre-e last time and I'm going to have to do growth scans too. No one has said anything about how long I'll be allowed to stay pregnant but from what I've been seeing and hearing I don't think I'll be allowed to go over 39 weeks either.
Eta: Google says it's a pregnancy serum? I've never heard of it before. Does everyone get tested for it?
@nlc8424 I wasn't expecting this. I don't even remember seeing the results last time since everything was normal. Thank you for your thoughts. It is somewhat tough to digest, but my OB was awesome today about it and assured me that the risk of anything happening is so low, but they just like to monitor it.
@Stothi yep, pregnancy associated plasma protein A. There is a ton of conflicting and scary information out on google, so I am trying hard not to read into any of it. Based purely on the form my OB gave me and the information she told me, there's an increased risk for low birth weight, delivery before 34 weeks, and preeclampsia. My OB also said that all her girls who have come back with low PAPP-A and no chromosomal anomalies (our boat) go on to have normal pregnancies.

The same thing happened to me (I am 10 weeks) we were able to hear it at 8 weeks so I was freaking out but thankfully my OB snuck me into the ultrasound room to easy my worries! Glad you were able to see your little one

@Patience7150 I’m so glad your OB sounded optimistic. That is scary. Hopefully the frequent monitering will help you know everything is okay throughout the pregnancy.
My NT Scan went great. It was a huge relief! Still waiting on the repeat cfDNA test, and then hopefully I can try to relax into this pregnancy. It’s been a rough week with me being sick, my daughter having ear infections and conjunctivitis, and just got back from the hospital myself because of chest pain: all my tests came back great, so most likely muscle strain after the stomach virus earlier in the week.
@Patience7150, glad that your OB seems to be on top of things. Hope that despite the need for increased monitoring, the rest of your pregnancy proves to be uneventful.
