I was up half the night with insomnia. Should I power through my exhaustion and go into the office? Or stay home and work remotely? I always feel so guilty when I work from home.
@LaceyBee522 My vote is work from home! You're cooking babies.
i had the weirdest dream last night - I was pregnant with TWO sets of twins, but I was already pregnant with one set, when I got pregnant with the second. Freaked. Me. Out.

@LaceyBee522 insomnia has been hitting me hard too! I agree with@sunshineandwhiskey and if you have the option work remotely. Maybe you'll be able to catch a nap at some point, or at the very least it'll be more relaxing than trekking into an office.
@sunshineandwhiskey freaky dream! I had a weird one too but can't remember it.... Grrr that's annoying!
@LaceyBee522 if you can work from home do it. I understand feeling guilty about it though- between myself, MH and DD someone has been sick every week this year and I was WFH a lot during that time.
@sunshineandwhiskey freaky dream- so glad we aren't kangaroos that keep getting pregnant even though we already are. I'm so ready to be done with pregnancy. Also I think I would actually die of exhaustion if I had 4 under 1.
AFM, DD not been sleeping through the night- so we have to start over with sleep training... which leads to arguments in the middle of the night. After she was up from 12am-3am Saturday night (Sunday morning) I woke up hating her a little. Luckily she's the cutest thing ever and she was completely forgiven by the end of breakfast. I made the decision to completely wean her from BFing- cause I do not want to deal with starting over with her again in a month (which is when I planned on completely weaning her originally). So far she hasn't been having any tantrums over getting a bottle instead of nursing. She has also learned a new word (her first non- mama/ dada word) and I couldn't be prouder or more excited. She now can say "KittyCat" as she chases our poor cats around the house. It just reminds me that somehow it's all worth it. The RLPs, the aches and pains of pregnancy, the shortness of breath, the swollen hands/feets, the sleepless nights... it's all really worth it. Now if someone can just remind me of that when she's up and screaming for no apparent reason at 2am tonight!
@LaceyBee522 I vote for working from home as well! I wish I could. 98% of what I do could be handled from home as long as I can VPN in. I am going to try to use a new baby as the push for a laptop. We have an old school VP that is an ass in seat kind of guy which just isn't realistic with so many working parents these days.
@sunshineandwhiskey that's a crazy dream! I have been having a lot of wild ones too and MH was making fun of me the other day for tell you guys about it but it makes me feel normal knowing that I'm not a crazy pregnant lady!
@jsl82 I was getting teary eyed reading that. I'm glad you were able to put things into perspective. I think it's important for us FTM's to hear because a lot of times parents think its fun to just scare us with all the horror stories.
AFM...+1 to the insomnia. I have no idea why my hips and back are in so much pain when sleeping. I took a bath last night in hopes of getting a good nights sleep but no such luck. I want to avoid a giant pregnancy pillow because with just a queen size bed it would take up all of the room and I think MH is already putting up with me getting more than my fair share. We have been debating getting a new bed and that might happen sooner rather than later. I also have lots to do at work today so I need to get off of TB and get to it.

@LaceyBee522 work from home! We only have a few more months of the pregnancy excuse. Gotta milk it while you can!
@krashke getting a king bed was one of the best decisions we ever made. If you have the money and the space, I 100% recommend it!
Add me to the insomnia train. To be fair upstairs neighbors were thumping music at 1am. I laid in bed for an hour cause I didn't want to get up and wake MH, but the music finally woke him around 2. We both moved to the other room and I slept on the couch and him the big chair. I was up until after 3 trying to get comfortable. Movers show up in about an hour. Can I lose my mind yet?

@Amphibious22 the money and the space might be tight for a king but I think we can make it work. A lot of places offer 12 month interest free financing and if we get a new bed we are going to go for a good one and for a king even if the bedroom is a little tighter to move around. It's not like we hang out in there all that much. Also, GL with the move today! Don't overdo it and take breaks as you need to! Hope you get settled into you new place in AZ quickly! Have you had any luck on the job hunt?

@krashke I ended up loving the bamboo memory foam pillow I bought from Amazon (I got the body pillow size, but I think king size would work just as well and take up less space). I usually end up hugging it with one leg under and the other on top, so it doesn't take up much more space than before (unlike the GIANT pregnancy pillow I started with and hated). The bamboo is nice too because it is really firm and keeps my top leg up enough to actually make a difference. My hip pain has gone down to virtually zero since the first week I started using the pillow.
@Amphibious22 Good luck with the move today! I'll be thinking of you and hope all goes as smoothly as possible! How was your shower/going away party at work yesterday??
@krashke +1 to a body pillow. I actually don't care for pregnancy pillows myself. My husband and I are neither of us small people and we do fine in a queen with that body pillow. I'm a stomach sleeper and so I just tuck the pillow under my belly and between my legs and it gives me the sensation that I'm as much on my stomach as possible without the ability to actually get all the way to my stomach.
DH has been asking if I should try a pregnancy pillow. But I don't even know if that's what I need. its all my hips. I put something between my legs, which helps the inner hip pain. But its the outside of my left hip that gets sore just from sleeping on my left side. I don't think a pillow will help that.
@Amphibious22 Good luck on your move! FX all goes smoothly!
+1 to weird dreams! Last night I dreamt that I fell asleep floating in a lake. I woke up and it was super sunny and warm but surrounded by water. As I'm looking around trying to figure out how I got there, I notice a huge fish floating on it's side near me like it's dead. I splash water at it to get it to move away and then the fish wakes up and starts to eat my arm with it's million spiky teeth. And my voice wouldn't work so I couldn't shout for help. And then I woke up but I'm happy to report, I'm typing this post with both hands, both still attached to my body
My entire body is sore. Like every single inch. Oh my god this is worse than the hike was lol.
Also, y’all, I have started waddling.
@krashke since you’re tall you might want a cal king over a regular king? Reg kings aren’t any longer than a queen — I don’t know if this happens to you but sometimes my feet would hang off when I could still belly sleep and it would end up effing up my back. Cal king was a life saver when we got it. But then I have two friends (she’s 6 feet, he’s 6’4) and they always sleep curled up so they don’t care at all about the length of the bed. Those 6 extra inches were amazing for me tho.
@doxiemoxie212 we were originally going to go with a cal king but we decided against it because of the inconvenience of getting sheets and things. I know we can order sheets online but MH is very much a touch and feel kind of guy so he refuses to buy them online.

@krashke that's weird - they always have cal king sheets in person at stores in NYC/CA, but maybe it's regional... I guess I sort of remember the sheets being harder to find in the DC area.
We have a queen bed. The box spring is about 20 years old, from my in-laws, and I can't wait to get a new set. I'm hopingto use next year's tax refund to get a full bedroom set (headboard, dressers etc) in king size. Also, my favorite sheets are Threshhold from Target. So nice.
Good luck on your move @Amphibious22! I hate moving, but I've also moved 6 times in 5 years lol.
I work at a university, and I definitely just walked in on a student (with a friend, thank goodness) who was flipping out over just having gotten a positive pregnancy test. We get a little back in state tax money, and DH and I had agreed to split it and use it for fun, since the main refund is going for responsible stuff. I told him today my plan was to use it for clothing after baby comes, and he got mad. He told me that I need to adjust the budget so that I get $100 a month for clothing or whatever I want and that my tax money needs to go for something I want and don't need. I tend to put myself last, but I'm going to try harder to not do that.
I am currently feeling the effects of having gone to Chuck E. Cheese last night. DD went straight to bed after her bath and didn't wake up again! I, on the other hand, had to watch TWD, and then bathe, so I got to bed quite a bit later. I would like to eat some of the cotton candy I brought home, but DH chastised me for buying it in the first place. I just wanted a bite. Or five #hitbyametaphoricaltruck #thanksformakingmecryTWD #isbluedyenumberoneallthatbad
DD loves to kiss my belly and talk to baby sister; tonight while doing so she noticed a freckle I have on my stomach and asked what it was... PSA: if you have a 2 year old, teaching them the word freckle might not be the best choice. It comes out sounding a little like “f*ckle”
@marcus7676 same. Last night I literally almost fell to the ground because I could barely walk my hip hurt so bad. I have my appointment tomorrow so I might ask what else I can try or see about PT (even though I have no time to work that in...)
Oh man how I miss my king size bed. I was perfectly happy with the downsized queen we've had, until the pregnancy pillow and 14 other pillows had to join the party. Good thing my BF is smaller or else we'd not all fit.
For all the mama's who were concerned about the lack of movement: I'm 24w4d and while I do have a posterior placenta, I was late to the feeling movement party. For the past month or so, Id feel him a few times per day but only for a second. I'd be used to the times of his usual faint movements and I'd freak out when it didn't happen and when we were going on 18 hours of nothing. So much so that last week, I ate a small bag of sour patch kids bc i didnt feel anything--thankfully it worked so I could stop spazzing. Within the past 24 to 48 hours, all the sudden feeling his movements have increased by 10 fold, no exaggeration. Literally overnight, it's like every hour, gotten so much stronger. They were right...it will come.
+1 for increased movement lately. I didn't feel the baby until after 22-23 weeks. Now, at 26+4, I feel it so much more, even with an anterior placenta. My H felt it for the first time the other night. I can also see movement on my belly.
I'm on the decreased movement train. Last week was crazy. One night they were having an all out rave in there when I was trying to fall asleep. It kind of tickled from the inside. The last couple of days it has tapered off. I still get some little ones here and there but they aren't huge movements. But I read that as the baby grows they lose space in your uterus which inhibits the big movements and you just get littler ones. I might just be in a phase where my uterus hasn't caught up to baby. I also feel like I shrunk from last week.
I also lost 5 lbs from yesterday morning when I weighed myself to this morning. I'm not too concerned because overall I'm still up 12 and last week I had a day where I lost 4 lbs overnight so I think it is just water weight or being backed up for a couple days but I might discuss it at my appointment on Friday.

To make the decreased movement ladies feel better (anterior placenta also), this little guy has his days also... few days actually. 26+5 weeks and he still had a slow few days lately. Then this morning, he had me away at 6am with his stretching. and was just doing some serious rolling around that literally made me almost jump out of my seat. So I wouldn't worry!

@krashke water weight and being backed up can make a huge difference. A couple weeks ago I "gained" 7 then "lost" close to 10 lbs over the course of a week depending on when I weighed myself and water retention/ constipation. The higher weight was an evening weigh in when I was super backed up and had been eating lots of salt. The lowest weight was first thing in the morning after a few days of frequent bms and healthier eating/ drinking more water.
@sabby2 - When we moved in December we left DirecTV and went with HULU Live. I think there's a better selection of channels vs. Sling. We use our Roku (only certain models pick up the live part). We've liked it so far, but find that we watch so little TV that we're getting rid of the live portion and just sticking to HULU, Netflix and Amazon Prime. We'll probably go back to Hulu Live when football season starts.

Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). First open heart surgery at 5 days old. He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing. Third Son - due June 9, 2018
@sabby2 my friends who have dumped cable and tried things like Sling or Hulu Live, etc., ultimately hated it. The problem is they still have to deal with the cable company for internet, and they got frustrated with not being able to watch all shows live. I think most of them are switching back to cable... I know for us personally, when I researched it, it wasn't that much less expensive since the internet costs more when you don't bundle it with phone/TV.
^ This. I did some serious research into sling, Hulu, and direct tv now. When I called the cable company to confirm pricing, surprise! The internet was going to go up by $40 if we dropped cable, and $30 more if we dropped phone as well. Sigh. There’s not really a good way around it.
@sabby2. Dropping cable really isn’t cheaper once you consider you still need internet (and the price goes up) and all those additional subscriptions. Usually cable adds about $50-60 but drop it and the internet jumps $30 and subscriptions will run you another $20-40. Granted everyone needs netflix and we also have amazon prime, but its worth it for both tv & shopping. DH talks about dropping cable after every football season but he needs nfl Sunday ticket since his favorite team isn’t shown locally. Personally I don’t watch much tv and i hate getting into new shows (I’m very inconsistent) so i watch old stuff right before heading to bed just to decompress and the occasional trash reality tv for laughs.
@ffw0617 - What makes you figure internet goes up when you drop cable? Just for a faster connection? I'd hesitate to say that's always going to be the case, if so...
For instance: We have the fastest internet available at the moment in our rural area. If we decide to drop cable, which we're toying with as well, we wouldn't be paying more for internet for any reason. We'd he dropping a $100 a month bill, and taking on potentially a $10 to $40 monthly bill in its place, depending on what we decided to go with.
@izza2 For us, our internet price would go up because the company only offers it low in a bundle. They price it that way on purpose to make it harder to cut cable. We even have a phone line that isn’t hooked up to anything because it’s cheaper to have cable/internet/phone than just cable/internet.
@sabby2, we have been without cable for 10 plus years. We use Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix. I miss being able to see live hockey, but I honestly don't have time for it anyway. We watch maybe one show a night and I can get everything I watch on one of those three things. We also have Fios and it's siginficantly cheaper ($100) per month to not have cable.
Usually, people have a bundle of either 2 or 3 things which lowers the whole price. Drop one, and the price might rise. That being said, we dropped phone and cable and are saving more than $100 a month. We pay $55 a month for 100/100 internet, which is kind of amazing considering we live in the middle of nowhere and only have one option for internet.
I had a dream last night that I was just producing bottle after bottle of breast milk and I kept pumping just for the satisfaction of watching it come freely. I wasn't able to get my milk to come in last time so I was a little disappointed that it was just a dream.
