Trying to Get Pregnant

IF Testing and Treatment- Week of 2/26

This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

Diagnosis (if you've been):

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA):

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):

How are things going?:

Any questions?:

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts GL this cycle! Yay for a positive OPK!! Are you getting monitoring to check follies to see your response to the femara?

@50Wife I will let you know about the PIO on Friday! I’m nervous and so is DH since he’s gonna be giving them to me! I heard they cause soreness though and sometimes leave lumps in the skin since it’s oil. I’m glad you will have relief doing the mock cycle but I give you so much credit for taking the meds for a mock. I’m on estrace three times a day and am so over it. Just nauseas and dizzy with no appetite, totally sucks
  • @RVAmom315 I'm sorry that your IUI didn't work, but I hope you can enjoy your time away from all of this crap! Also, 10lbs already is amazing!!!!
  • @lurvleybunchococonuts if I remember correctly, it's 22 so I'm really looking forward to it  :s
  • @dragonette505 Oral - I have pills. I have an appt Wednesday and I'm going to bring up how shitty I'm feeling. If it's normal and I need to suck it up then so be it.
Provera is that bad?? Hope you're feeling back to yourself soon!!

@darkstar42 I just remembered seeing this on a blog I follow. I don't know where you're located, but there's a blog "A slice of style"...she went through IVF and she's part of some big dinner and they're going to be giving away lots of money for couples to do IVF. It's in Utah and I think she said you have to attend the event to win. I'm pretty sure she recently said on her IG that her RE is giving away a free cycle as part of his contribution.

Here's more info for anyone in or close enough to Utah where this might be worth looking in to **TW**She does have twins from IVF so they're all over the blog and mentioned in this post **End TW**

@50Wife The actually needleand syringe for mine are 22g but there are other needles to attach that are 18g not 100% which ones I’ll be using but they’re both BIG!
  • I’ll be back later to comment - though @emmasemm - My results took about 8-10 calendar days. Same for my genetic screenings.
  • @50Wife. I requested a 1inch needle instead of 1 1/2.  DH would massage my butt cheeks for a few minutes after every shot and I'd try to do some stretches of my glutes in  addition to using a heating pad.   I hated them but they weren't horrible.

  • OMG that’s right!! @KristoKekerooni HAPPY TRANSFER DAY!!
  • Augusta108 Ugh... The timing for IVF always seems bad. It NEVER fails that if I'm doing my cycle, critical people around me will take vaca or be out sick for a week... and since ive always done natural cycles, its been impossible for me to predict my time needs exactly

purplg8r Yay for your IUI... I agree that medicated cycles can be faster... you actually feel like you are doing and accomplishing something. Ive had thin lining mentioned to me because i tend to have a thinner lining on medicated cycles. But because my lining has gotten thick on natural cycles (and was "thick enough" on my FET for transfer...7.5 or 7.6 cant remember) I never got treated for it.

elothair ugh! I hope they can figure out why your cycle is so long!

hlb8179 EEEK sorry they had to fiddle around to get past your cervix!! NOT fun! But so hoping this works for you!!
and HAPPY TRANSFER to @KristoKekerooni lets make a baby!!!

  • @rallykat14 That’s a fantatic idea with the shorter needles!! I’m gonna call the pharmacy and see if they can ship the shorter ones.  how are you holding up?

@Augusta108 I told my boss from the start and he was very happy and understanding. If someone had been through this I sure hope they would be sympathetic good luck and hoping everything works out with that!!

@hlb8179 Do they plan on removing that fibroid?

@purplg8r GL and hope everything with your lining cooperates.

@elothair Did they talk about prescribing you anything to get AF moving?
  • @ndz2018  No, it's in the way but not causing other problems like pain.  My OBGYN said it'd be worst to remove it while I'm still trying to get pregnant since it's on my uterus.  So far, we've been able to work around it.  It does mean I have to have a C-section, though.

  • @elothair could you have O’d late?

@hlb8179 I’m sorry yesterday didn’t go so well! That sounded rough.

@leilee101 FX that the timing works out perfectly for you.  What part of FL are you going to?

@Augusta108 hmm. That is interesting. Could you send an email to double check?
  • @purplg8r I used oral estrace one cycle for thin lining. From what I remember, you can't start them too early in the cycle - it needs to be closer to O. I waited to start it until my follies were growing and it looked liked I'd be triggering soon. Are you on letrozole? If so, that suppresses your estrogen level. (Which is okay, just should be noted that the letrozole could be why an estrogen level looks like it's lower than it should be.)

@hlb8179 I freaked out about multiples after my first cycle too. How many follies did you have?

@kristokekerooni I've been thinking about you today!!! I hope everything went well!

  • @leilee101 Hopefully you’re timing works out perfectly!

@Augusta108 I hated being in BCP!  Seems strange to me too. When we did our ER I got AF and started... however they were going to put me on BCP only because we were waiting you for insurance approval for ICSI but AF was super late so it all kinda worked out and I didn’t have to go on BCP but i did have to go on it the following month waiting for surgery. Maybe call or email your nurse and ask why they want to put you in BCP to delay your ER? And why you cant just go into it when you get AF?
  • @ndz2018My RE’s office only does one cycle week a month, so they use BCP to sync everyone’s cycle for that week for baselines & ERs. Natural start isn’t an option for some clinics.

@Augusta108 What I hear you concerned about is how easily the nurse went from 5 weeks to 1 week on BCP- that it seemed strange she had confidence in what you said rather than checking with the doctor or your chart. FX it all works out.

  • @rallykat14 damn, this whole situation sucks. I know you're busy with work, but I hope you take some time for yourself and allow yourself to grieve this loss.
