Trying to Get Pregnant

R/R: homemade pizza last night and there's a bunch left over. it's SO good! Plus funfetti cupcakes.  :p

    CS/Q: nothing to see here.

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? I really like summer, but I prefer winter. No allergies to contend with AND I love snow! I have the benefit of working from home, so I don't have to mess with traffic/getting into work. not to mention all the cute layers you can wear!

    CD: 16

    WAYDTGKU: PNV, some N&C

R/R:  I ended up so cranky last night N&C never happened, I really had no desire to be touched. AND I forgot my muffin this morning in my rush. But tomorrow if Friday so that's cool

CS/Q: Nothing to see since I've been avoiding the OPK's but I had pain yesterday plus EWCM so I'll hang out for a couple days to make sure I'm not just gearing up then head over to TWW.

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? Summer. I love to be warm and not have to bundle up a bunch and scrape snow off my car to go anywhere.

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 16

WAYDTGKU: preseed (this may be tmi, but is it just me or us trying to use lube like the least sexy thing on the planet?) , opk's, hio

R/R: I *think* I had a pos opk yesterday so even though I was feeling a little sick still I manned up and hio. Even mh was "meh" about but I made him (he didn't mind so much in the end haha). I'm proud of this very small accomplishment lol

    CS/Q:

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each?
Definitely summer. I'm a big baby about being cold so I just suffer through winter, and this year since I don't have to go to work I basically never left the house. It was glorious. I love day trips to the beach and just being able to go outside without being miserable.

Thanks for all the support from a couple days ago.  I was in such a funk I didn’t even come back to reply to all the sweet comments.  But, thank you. I’m starting to feel hopeful again this month.  I’m doing a few things differently and I’m hoping that will do the trick. Plus it’s my “Friday” so that always puts me in a good mood. But DH is working this weekend… Hopefully I can find some fun things to do.  I have acupuncture on Friday and then I’m thinking I should probably get a haircut… it’s been 7 months.

    CS/Q:
Unrelated to TTC but what is everyone’s favorite way to meal plan? Do you use an app? Which one? If not, how do you organize your recipes? Do you prep your meals for the week ahead of time? Freeze them? Help! This wannabe chef over here needs some advice!

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each?
I have SAD so I hate winter with a passion and love love love summer!  There is literally nothing I like to do during the winter.  It’s way too cold.  I love going hiking, camping, kayaking, and fishing during the summer. Pretty much everything outside summer related I love doing.

    @catlady2015 Funfetti cupcakes!!! MMMMhhh!

@kristah2 MH and I have definitely had those moments where we’re saying how cranky we are as we’re taking off our clothes to DTD lol. BD while TTC has changed us.

@rosebud332 To me lube is a huge turn off. But how do you like preseed? I’ve been thinking about getting some.

R/R: Rave: It was 78 degrees yesterday, and should be in the 80's today. Hahaha...it was in the 20's earlier this week. TEXAS WHY YOU WEIRD?!! But not complaining! Happy to not have to wear a coat when I step out of the house. We just confirmed how I am spending my 30th next week, and it's a looot. I am spending next Friday with my dad and sisters, Saturday with my side of the fam, and Sunday with H's side of the fam. I don't even have plans on my actual birthday. I am excited to spend time with all my family, but 3 days of "omg your in your 30's now!" are freaking me out. Not that I am scared of my 30's, I am excited about it actually. (Does that sound convincing?) lol.

CS/Q: Another slight temp rise! After I tested this morning MH looked at me with a questionable face and had his FX, I said "it's another rise", and he got happy. Yesterday morning when I woke up he said "Do you feel pregnant yet?" I was like "IF ONLY IT WERE THAT SIMPLE!" Right ladies?? Haha. He is so cute to be invested in all my tracking stuff. Anywho...here is my chart.

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? Is fall not a choice? lol. My fav ever is fall, BUT if I had to choose....ugh...I guess summer. I HATE sweating, but I love to be able to go swimming! I would love winter if we actually got snow here. But did I mention we don't really have "seasons" here in Texas, sooo I am just down to a pleasant 70's day with clear blue skies and a light wind. Those days are few and far between!

  • @Whitmore1027 Guys are so funny with the ‘....so are you pregnant?’ stuff. Dude, I ovulated yesterday you’re going to have to wait for that answer. Also, I don’t know if I could handle Texas summer, that sounds brutal...
@catlady2015 Funfetti is the best cupcake, I’m a little jealous!
@LJMoon6  I like to pick out some recipes for the week and do my shopping around that, but I alway leave at least 1 night open for leftovers/takeout flexibility. When DH was in grad school and money was tight, we would prep all our dinners for the month in a day and freeze them- “Don’t worry, dinner’s in the freezer” had good recipes and it saved us a ton of money. It’s a little intense for me now, but I still keep some frozen dinners on hand.

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? If winter had as much daylight as summer, then it would be winter, hands down. I guess summer, since it’s not dark at 5 so I actually go do things in the evening. I like waking up to the sunrise rather than my alarm clock lol. I love watching the snow in winter, and I like eating out on the patio in the summer.

I’m really excited. DH isn't really thrilled about it though. Our insurance does not cover it and the first appointment is $125
    :o

CS/Q: I’m so confused about my cycle. I thought I was about to O but I still haven’t had a positive OPK and my lines aren’t darkening.
GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? I love both. We hike a lot in the summer and love kayaking and camping as well. In the winter, we ski and snowboard. This is my first winter that I didn’t buy a season pass to the ski resort and I’ve been really sad about it. I feel pretty ready for Spring.

  • @LJMoon6 I have nothing to compare it to, but it gets the job done. In the last year sex has become quite painful without it and it took me many months to realize, 1. The pain wasn't going away, and 2. Lube was the answer. So preseed is the first I've tried. And while I'm definitely glad that I can have sex again with some level of enjoyment, it is sooo awkward to me to use it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong lol

@lin0442 I completely agree about the daylight. I absolutely hate waking up when it's still dark out. I'm so glad it's getting lighter now in the morning.

  • @catlady2015 I feel like we are always on opposite dailies! Nice to be on the same one for once  :) I love winter too. I love wearing all the layers and cozy sweaters/leggings. Homemade pizza sounds delicious!
@kristah2 Why are you avoiding OPKs?
@rosebud332 I agree with you about the lube. I don’t like to use it.
@ljmoon6 I’m super nervous about my first acupuncture appointment because I’ve read that a lot of people get bad headaches. I think it was you who had them too? I have been getting really bad headaches lately so I really don’t want to do something to give me another one. Do you drink a lot of water before and after your appointment? I’ve heard that can help.
@whitmore1027 It’s snowing here right now so it’s really strange to think of Texas having 80 degree weather. That’s cute your DH is so interested in your chart. My DH could not care less. Whenever I talk about it, he gets this dazed look on his face.
@lin0442 I also don’t like how it gets dark so early in the winter. That’s the part that’s the hardest to deal with for me. Waking up to the sunrise is my favorite!

  • @eleven_ H got pretty upset with me last month about "trying". He said my OPKs and such were stressing him out too much. Then he booked a 5 week work trip for early 2018. So to please him I stopped OPKs and if this month doesn't work I won't be upset (so I'm not mom-ing alone for 5 weeks) and I'm hitting the bench until July  :'( BUT we're going to book a trip for May to break up the time a bit.
  • @whitmore1027 I am so jealous of your temperatures!! We can have crazy swings in the north too. For instance this week on Monday we had high temps in the single digits with a wind chill of -15 I believe, but then yesterday we had temps in the 40s. It’s crazy how 40 can feel so warm!

@lin0442 Do you mind PMing me with some freezer meals?! I suck at picking out good recipes from the millions online.

@rosebud332 I’m glad you’ve found something that works!

@wishiwaspreggo Sorry your doc never told you that you had PCOS. I’d be so angry too. Everything you described about summer almost made me cry I miss it so much!!!

@eleven_ MH would rather me spend the money on the acupuncture then on getting testing done... I don't get it. I had my first acupuncture appointment last week (my insurance does cover it but there are way too many hoops to jump through to make sure they do so I decided to just pay out of pocket). I did drink a bunch of water before and after. I did have a bad headache the rest of the day and the following day but I have chronic headaches and had one before the appointment too. AF started almost 3 days early (shortened LP too). I don’t know if the acupuncture was the cause or if the headaches where from that too. I also got really dizzy after she placed about 15-20 needles, I think I got needle shock.  I’m going to try it one more time but if I have the same reaction then I won’t do any more.  I think it’s worth trying though.  You won’t know how your body will react to it until you try it. I’ve also ready that acupuncture can help with your headaches. I’m not sure how long it’s supposed to take for it to work though.

@stargazer1lily Love your pic! I’m jealous of your love for winter. I really wish I liked it more.

  • @catlady2015 We made homemade pizza last night, too!  It was my first time making it.  Pretty good!  I live in Chicago, so it wasn't as good as all the places we could order from, but it was definitely healthier!

@LJMoon6  When I first started meal planning, I would choose a recipe for each night and make a weekly grocery list from that.  I kept the weekly menus and lists in a binder (back in the hard copy days;-) ), so that I could go back and repeat them.  Now, I find it more manageable on a busy weeknight to already have meats cooked and veggies roasted, so I do all of that on Sunday and then combine them in different ways throughout the week, such as "burrito" bowls, lettuce wraps, salads, hashes, etc.  Plus, that allows me to change the exact meal for the night depending on my mood and time available.  I really love this cookbook for this type of meal prep: https://meljoulwan.com/cookbooks/about-well-fed-weeknights/  All that being said, just do whatever you enjoy because that's what will make it sustainable.  Have fun!

  • @kristah2 That’s really kind of you to stop using them. I feel like I would still be tempted to take them secretly. DH says to me all the time that we shouldn’t try so hard to get KU. It really infuriates me when he says that. Where are you guys going to go in May?
@ljmoon6 Thanks for all the info. Where do they place the needles? The guy I’m going to is specialized in fertility acupuncture so I have high hopes.
@stargazer1lily I love snowshoeing so much. Beautiful picture!
@wishiwaspreggo ugh! I feel super frustrated for you! I’m so sorry that your RE didn’t feel the need to tell you that you had PCOS. That is crucial information and I would be pretty angry for it to be withheld from me. I’m glad you guys have a game plan and FX that your IUI is successful next month!

I print out all the recipes and keep them in my spice cabinet so I can look back at them when I am planning meals for the next week. GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each?
SUMMER 100 TIMES SUMMER!!!! I swear I live all my life during the summer months.  When you see me in the winter I'm just waiting for summer! MH and I take our camera and dogs and go on road trips.  We capture the milky way, the northern lights,  waterfalls,  sunsets,  lightning,  everything.  It's only fun when it's warm out. I would however like to get pictures of frozen waterfalls at some point.
  • @LJMoon6 - If you like casseroles and want easy freezer food, buy some foil pans at the store and make a few casseroles. Put the cardboard lid on top, cover in extra foil, and freeze. Then all you have to do is take it out of the freezer, remove lid, cover in foil, and pop it in the oven for 45-90 minutes depending on how big it is. Soups do well in the freezer, too. Put those in freezer bags, squeeze out the extra air, seal, and lay flat in the freezer. Then when you're ready to eat, take them out and put them in a crock pot for about an hour to warm up. Easy peasy! My favorite casseroles to freeze are tuna noodle, tater tot, lasagna, stuffed peppers, and cheesy chicken and rice.

The Pioneer Woman has really good meal prepping ideas, like using frozen dinner rolls as dough for calzones or stuffed sandwiches and cooking ground beef to keep in the freezer to use as taco filling, spaghetti sauce, or for casseroles. I think her whole persona is super annoying but she makes some damn good food and has practical advice for busy home cooks.

@Stargazer1lily - that is a lovely photo!! However, I can feel my face and legs burn in sympathy from the cold. I'm afraid I'm not cut out for cold weather activities :\

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? WINTER! I am not a warm weather girl. I think I would love skiing, but haven’t had a lot of opportunities. Mostly, I just like getting out and walking in the crisp air.

@Whitmore1027 Mysister lives in Texas and said the same thing about their weather! We’re having crazy weather patterns like that here on the east coast too (I think we have one day in the 70s and one day with snow forecasted this week). This winter has been all over the place!

@catlady2015 Super jealous of your pizza, lol. I want pizza now too.

@eleven_ I hope you enjoy your acupuncture and that it’s worth every penny!

@wishiwaspreggo Welcome back! Oh man, I can’t imagine how frustrated you must be with your RE! I hope you can find a provider that is a better fit.

@Stargazer1lily What a beautuful picture! Snowshoeing looks so serene. I’m glad you were able to get yours fixed!

  • @kobrien827 Haha yes I got rid of those plastic thingies because it already feels too much like a "procedure" without that mess. Sorry everyone I feel like I've taken over with my lube talk! I'm done I promise!

@wishiwaspreggo yay for getting back in the game! Congrats! I followed your journey since I joined TB about going back and forth with YW about trying.  That's great that you guys are moving forward and getting a game plan together! I can't believe you are just finding out about pcos though, that's ridiculous. That would have been helpful to know 4 years ago!!! WTH!? Also stealing your freezer cheats!

ETA I meant about who would be trying, not IF you would be trying. Not sure if that read right.
  • @eleven_ it's been hard to not use them! But he's been home when I get home the last few days. It's hard when H tells you to not try so hard. I don't think they get just how hard it can be to get timing right. I think we're looking at a resort somewhere warm!

  • @hlb8179 Thank you for the cookbook recommendation. That sounds so perfect, having the same ingredients combined differently to make different meals. Please PM me your favorite meal prep week. I am not that creative and have really poor cooking instincts lol.

@eleven_ The lady that I go to treats everything so she’s not really a specialist in fertility.  She does however treat for fertility and I am not her only patient.  She placed the needles on my back because she wanted to first help with my headaches.  She also did cupping which was weird and I don’t think I would do it again. I would rather just get a massage and leave out the bruising.  I’ll let you know how tomorrow goes and where she ends up placing the needles this time.

@kobrien827 Yes send me your recipes!  I swear I have bad luck with picking recipes out online… or maybe I am just that bad of a cook lol

@galactickates Damn niquil! I am so jealous of your description of summer. I really wish I was more dedicated to taking photos. I have a hard time opening up my eyes and seeing that there is beauty all around me and not just when we go on trips. I think I might splurge and buy myself a camera.

@wishiwaspreggo You make it sound so easy lol. I do love casseroles. And my acupuncturist said I should eat more soups. Do you cook the soup ahead of time? What about the noodles for the casseroles? If you can’t tell, I am completely clueless. Thank you for the Pioneer Woman suggestion.  Do you mind PMing me your cheesy chicken and rice recipe!?

  • @LJMoon6 I think our camera was like 250$ and it captures the milky way.  I think H bought extra lenses but we have gotten the most amazing shots!

Make dark sky finder your best friend and you could capture this stuff too. It's so fun!
  • @catlady2015 We made the homemade pizza too, and it turned out GREAT! That recipe is a keeper! We may even make another pizza this week! Yay! And omg, I made yellow cupcakes with chocolate icing yesterday too! Now I have to figure out what to do with 24 cupcakes!!
@kristah2 So sorry about you having to stop OPK for your H. I wouldn't be able to stop if my H told me not to. To me, it would be like...taking tylonel if I have a headache. It doesn't require him for me to use the strips. :(
@rosebud332 I actually think lube can be sexy, if it's done in a sensual way. Haha. I've had to use it while *TW Baby mention* Breastfeeding. I was dry as a dessert the entire time I breastfed. *End TW* so we had to learn that lube can be sexy. lol. Still didn't work as well as I wanted.
@LJMoon6 I looove the app "Emeals" I used that for a year. I loved that it gave 7 new recipes a week, and it gives you the grocery list, so you just mark off as you shop, and it has the instructions. I found a lot of new meals that I still make occasionally. It cost's $5 a month, but that is SO worth it with how much money I saved using the "budget friendly" meals, and not overspending on food. And it IS crazy how warm 40's can feel!! Once you feel the teens, 40's are nothing!
@lin0442 Men are hilarious. Hahah. And YES, it is brutal. I either hide inside or at the pool. I am beginning to change my answer to preferring winter. haha! And YES if there were more sun in the winter, then that would make it my favorite! I hate how dark it is in the evenings and mornings!
@eleven_ Yay for a 4 day weekend! That'll be a nice break for you! I've always wanted to try acupuncture, but I am a scaredy cat. haha It's funny because H will get a dazed look when I am taking about anything, and then he will randomly have an input later on, but not while I was talking to him about it. He must want to be the one to initiate it. Hah
@Stargazer1lily SUCH a pretty photo! What I wouldn't give to see something like that!!!
    @galactickates Your summers sound fantastic!
@wrensnest So great you are starting to feel the effects of your iron supplements! Yay for postive OPK! I feel like I would love skiing too! My H and I want to move to the mountains (more specifically Colorado) one day. But not sure when or if that'll ever happen! I have heard weather is a bit nuts all over. So weird!

  • @eleven_ - yes,  I always seem to miss you! we should be on the same dailies for about a week this time!
@Whitmore1027 - yay! I'm so glad the recipe worked for you guys! we sent a bunch of cupcakes to DH's work - easy way to get them out of the house. I would totally eat them all if I didn't.
@galactickates - you guys had quite the streak, but hope nyquil helped you get some sleep and feel better!
@kobrien827 - so close! I edited my month/cycle to include my ntnp cycle because we had great timing with it. I'm unfortunately looking at needing to go for testing if my next cycle doesn't work, so i wanted to get everything documented officially.
@Stargazer1lily - so jealous of snowshoeing! glad your dad was able to fix it!
@wishiwaspreggo - wow. how could your doc not tell you you have PCOS? that is just insane. :( i would totally be looking for a new RE if she's fat shaming on top of it.  :s glad you and YW have the option for you to undergo treatment!
@LJMoon6 - glad to see you back, and that you're feeling a little more hopeful! Enjoy your friday! (PS - the funfetti cupcakes are just 1/2 c of sprinkles in a box of cake mix). easy peasy to do if you want a fix.

  • @galactickates OMG those photos are amazing! Is that an app you use?

@whitmore1027 I have tried out a few meal planning apps and really like the automatic grocery list that gets populated.  I haven’t been able to find one that I really like (either the app crashes or they make you pay for certain features).  I’m also worried about putting a lot of energy into uploading all my recipes (lol there’s not many) and then in the future the app disappears.

@catlady2015 Thanks friend.  The problem with me making a whole cake, even if they are cupcakes, is that I will end up eating them all.  MH does not eat sweets. Last month I made a Boston cream poke cake and ate the whole thing within a week. Not good… but oh so good!!!

  • @LJMoon6 - I don't think dark sky finder has an app but if you google it it there is a website.  I think it's .net but I am not 100% sure. H is the one who always plots our destinations.  Any astrophotography website will direct you to dark sky finder though. Light pollution maps are seriously the craziest thing.  Everything east of the Mississippi is lit up,  everything west.... looks like the wild west compared except California lol

@rosebud332 Good for you guys for persevering! MH and I have gotten to the point too where we realize we just have to make it clinical sometimes and if we keep going, it pays off. If nothing else, we are practicing intimacy which will make it become a habit again. It gets difficult after being together awhile.

About lubricant. I don't know what you are doing exactly, but I find doing it in the bathroom alone so MH doesn't see helps.

@LJMoon6 Soooo glad that you are feeling better. About meal planning. I went on this quest over a year ago and what works for me personally is subscribing to the forks over knives meal planner online. The yearly subscription isn't a whole lot (somewhere around $100). It plans meals for you weekly. You can swap recipes that don't appeal to you and select new ones in from their database. I'm not a total fan of veganism (for myself personally), but I am a big promoter of as much as possible plant based eating. The things you'll need in a lot of their recipes is a whole new set of things inside of your pantry, but once you get used to it, it seems as normal as what you were doing before.

The meal planner is also great because after you swap out recipes, etc., it creates a grocery list for you with all of the ingredients that you need to make all meals for the week. What I do is choose recipes and get creative with them. I do this by adding in meat to some of the recipes or fish, but I only buy organic, hormone free meats and wild caught seafoods as much as I can. I also ensure that we have meat very infrequently as much as possible and in small portions. Basically, plants are our main course and meat is our side dish; very opposite of the American way. FOK also has a FB group that you can be a part of once they confirm that you have a meal planner subscription. Very helpful and knowledgeable people there!

@Whitmore1027 Yay for your temp rise! Being in my 30s is the greatest feeling ever. I hope that you and YH will be okay stress wise in ttgp with visiting all of that family soon. I know for us, we love our families dearly, but omg!

@lin0442 I don't know your story so forgive me if you've already said this here before, but when do you and YH plan on seeing a specialist to get everything checked out?

@eleven_ Hang in there, keep HIO and keep testing. Fx you O soon! What is RRL tea? Also, I'm interested to know what you think of acupuncture when you do it. I've never done it before, but it has been recommended to me quite a bit. The whole needle thing freaks me out.

@wishiwaspreggo Whew girl. Welcome back! I don't know if you knew this, but you can have your W sign an auth form and put your name down on it to be able to discuss her medical stuff with the RE at any time. I would definitely schedule another appointment and ask your RE in a list, what things she used to diagnose you with PCOS before letting that sink in. Get a second opinion if you need to. I'm sorry that you are being shamed because of your weight. Hugs. What is ISWTE?

@kristah2 I'm sorry you have to meet the bench. I hope that with a break and the trip you have planned in May, it won't get pushed until July.

  • @suzycupcake OMG. Yeah, the fact that we are TTGP and I could pretty much test around/ near my birthday has me freaking out. I don't know if I want to wait until after all the get togethers to test (like...I doubt I am strong enough to wait!), but if I HAPPEN to get pregnant, how I would keep my mouth shut, I have no clue. lol. MH wants me to test before the get togethern so I can have as many alcoholic beverages as I want if I am not pregnat. lol
@catlady2015 I wish H worked somewhere he could bring the cupcakes! He is a merchandiser so he travels to different grocery stores everyday, and doesn't really see his co-workers often. We may just bring some to our neighbors!

  • @galactickates and @Stargazer1lily such great photos!!!

@whitmore1027 Enjoy your upcoming birthday and the bunch of festivities!! I’m turning 30 in a couple months and tbh I’m pretty excited to leave my 20’s behind me lol.

@suzycupcake I don’t mind answering- I’ve mostly been active on TTCAL before this month. *tw- loss* Due to the timing of my first loss, my OB did a bunch of blood work right out of the gate- TSH, thrombophilia, lupus, hemoglobinopathy stuff all came back negative. Then MH and I recovered and tried for a while. I had Day 3 blood work (normal) and an HSG in Nov. I’m going in for a hysteroscopy to check whether I have an arcuate uterus or something funkier. I WAS going to get it and an intro RE appointment this month (RE would have been tomorrow, actually), but I had a chemical pregnancy instead. So now I’m getting those done in March. The hysteroscopy appointment is cursed lol- I’ve had to reschedule it a couple times now due to different &#%* each time. Looking forward to the RE, but hopefully the IF was cleared up by the HSG (whew that’s a lot of acronyms!)

DH is getting home so late tonight but I want to keep our streak going. But at this rate I might fall victim to passing out on the couch instead...
  • Month/Cycle: 2/ 1

WAYDTGKU: tracking my cycle, trying to get it sorted to normal

R/R: My DH brought home this horrible stomach plague from work over V-day. Even the DOG got it. I am finally feeling a bit better, three days later, and 5lbs thinner. I am supposed to be working on eating consistently, getting my cycle back on a normal track. Not eating for three days works against this goal.  And I had a fever. Which is the only temp spike in my (bad word) chart.  And it's cycle day 21. Grouch. grouch grouch.

GTKY: Which do you prefer; summer or winter? What are your favorite activities for each? Summer. I like to be warm. Everything about summer is my favorite - farmers markets, swimming, laying in the sun. Winter... I guess... Going to the museum? But... I can do that in the summer. So... Summer.
  • @LJMoon6 I make up soup ahead all the time! I freeze it in soup containers from getting soup to go from other places.
@lin0442 I'm so sorry you went / are going through all that. I hope you have a smoother path forward.
@eleven_ I am doing acupuncture too! The place I am going they place the needles in different places each time.  So it's not the same each appointment.
  • @lin0442 Ugh you have had a very difficult and stressful time. I'm very sorry for your *tw*. I cannot imagine and my heart goes out to you :(

Your hormones were all good too, like Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, etc. etc.?

I'm confused why they want you to do a hysteroscopy. It is not pain free and the internet says the major differential diagnosis is the uterine septum. A regular transvaginal ultrasound or HSG can reveal warning signs that there’s an arcuate, subseptate or septate. However, it can only truly be diagnosed by a sonohystogram or a hysteroscopy.

So why not do the sonohystogram? It was found that 3D sonohysterography is identical to hysteroscopy in diagnosis, "The high diagnostic value of these ultrasonographic tools questions the need for hysteroscopy in the differential diagnosis of the most common congenital uterine anomalies."

I'd ask your doctor why it must be a H. Unsolicited advice. It's just that the H is painful and doesn't seem necessary.

  • @suzycupcake They haven’t tested my other hormones yet- I think my OB is hesitant since I’ve gotten pg in the past and my cycle is fine. She hasn’t really mentioned a sonohystogram- I think she’s going for the full differential diagnosis, but at least it’ll be in-office, not surgical. I really liked her as a GYN and the couple times I saw her as an OB, but the past few months have been frustrating. I’m in the process of looking for a new OB, but am trying to get this last piece done before I switch care providers, because it’ll be a couple more months if I wait. Hopefully the RE is more involved.
