Breakfast shower started pitocin at 8 am bumped up to 4 at 10 am labored standing up and upping my contractions for 3.5 hours cervical check at noon... maybe 2 cms tried to rest after the cervical check because it threw off my contractions and they slowed 3 pm... upped pitocin to 6 4 pm... switched nurses unexpectedly 5 pm... BP cuff malfunctioned and instead of believing me and you know, her own observations, new nurse took my BP 10-12 times in 20 minutes—because the cuff kept running three times in a row and not deflating 5:30 pm... rude nurse from triage walks in my room to say that my BP—which ran correctly all day in the 100’s/60’s—was indicating that I had pre-eclampsia... Cue 45 minutes of pandemonium, triage nurse walking out, new nurse insisting on taking my BP AGAIN, moving rooms for a broken monitor/BP cuff and then new nurse leaving without saying anything and new new nurse walking in... Everyone was confused. I was upset. I just kept saying, okay well I want to talk to my doctor.
He straightened everything out... told me to eat and shower and then start all over again at 8pm.
So now it’s 11 pm and we are back up to a 4 and are planning on just upping the pitocin and having a baby. I’m exhausted and irritated and just ready to let the pitocin do all the work while I just breathe through contractions.
Either way I’m buying myself that Salty AF shirt I’ve been eying for a while. And I have people promising me a baby before shift change at 7 am...
@mdfarmchick long day... glad you have some food in you! hope baby comes soon!
For symptoms- I have such bad insomnia... 3:27am... ridiculous acid reflux, back aches, varicose veins in the worst spots (thank you 40s) constipation and frequent BH. I may be the only ome in this group that makes it to March haha but I do feel I’ll go about 3 weeks early... splitting the difference between my last 2 early births.

@BrittnieMariee - amazing!! Exciting! Good luck! @mdfarmchick - I’m generally super passive and relaxed and non-confrontational when it comes to my own preferences. But if I were in your shoes, I’d be puffy painting my own darn Salty as F T-shirt juuuust to make sure people knew I was, in fact, talking about them.
Thanks for the well wishes, ladies! Still waiting for Emma to show up! She’s taking her sweet time. @cford08 I’m 37+2 today, so they’re comfortable letting me do my thing. @mdfarmchick I’m so sorry you’ve had such a hard time! They just started me on pitocin about an hour ago.
@vflux33 I even got compression socks to try to make them go down (my husband trying to put them on me was LOLOLOL!) but so far nothing is helping and my skin feels SO tight ugh!
All day bern having bad menstrual-like cramps. I had some before and doc did a check on Monday and said i was a little over 1cm dilated but not concerned. Been drinking water, laying, nothing helps. Waiting on a call back from doc. Guess I'm just hoping I'm not the annoying girl who cried wolf lol. Just want these suckers to go away ha
@sardavbak me toooooo!! so swollen that it looks like i have some sort of elephantitis on my feet, legs, hands. . my nose has even swollen, i thought it was in my head but my mom and husband both said yes when i asked if it had gotten bigger the skin is stretched to the max, my legs and ankles now feel bruised. TRying an epsom salt bath soon since nothing else works. Good luck to you with yours!!!

@scoogy19 seems like it! At least we’re “early term” so they should be fine. They just broke my bag so no matter what we aren’t leaving this hospital without a baby
Day 3 of feeling like crap. Terrible headaches, extremely weak, achy bones... feels like my blood pressure dropped really low.... off to find an urgent care that can check that for me before I start worrying....
KZ1126 have you talked to your doc/midwife about your swelling? I'm not speaking from any experience, but that sounds more extreme and I thought swelling in the face was a sign of pre-e. FX you're doing ok!
Holy sciatic nerve pain! It brought me to tears tonight while I was trying to give my 2 year old a bath. My husband got irritated that I didn’t tell him until the end of the bath. I just feel like there’s so much I can’t do right now, I didn’t want to not give my daughter a bath. I just feel so huge! Hoping he decides to make his appearance in about 2.5 weeks, but those are going to be some long weeks!
@mcb0110 today was the first day I have been able to do much in weeks. I get tired or get hip pain doing anything. My husband texts me a couple times a week when he’s at work to remind me it’s ok to slow down and everything doesn’t have to be perfect like I like.
Thanks ladies! My bp was fine, but my heart rate was extremely high. Urgent care doc wanted to me to to l&d, but I really didn't feel that I needed that...called ob and he told me it sounds like my iron took a dip lower and that we should wait for blood work to come back, but in the meantime I should just take it verrrry easy and rest up. My sister took ds for a couple of hours, and then mh picked him up and did bedtime. Heart rate def came down, but it does start palpitating every so often...
@fatstagnation I did!!! I called the nurse when it first happened and she tried to make me feel like a hypochondriac. I was convinced it had to be pre E. Then I saw my doctor on Thursday and she said I was super swollen, but everything else looked fine. Apparently just an unfortunate side effect.... 3 more weeks, 3 more weeks, 3 more weeks...

Oh good. I'm so glad to hear that. You're not a hypochondriac!
I posted this on one of the FB groups too bc I’m a little concerned....I keep seeing floaters , you know those spots in your eyes?? I called my doctor and am waiting on a call back but I already feel ridiculous. My bp has always been low, except for at my last appt it was 124/80 which is high for me . All I can think about is that damn episode of greys anatomy where that lady died of pre eclampsia bc her bp was high for her but not generally high . I’m taking my bp when I get off work ,we have a thingie at home that measures it . Anyone else have floaters before ?

@muggle621 the same exact thing is happening to me! My BP throughout my pregnancy has been low (100/60-ish). At my last appointment (37 weeks), it was 120/80. I'm also seeing some floaters and have some new swelling (wedding rings don't fit). I'm on my weekly appointments now, so I will ask about it this week. You were right to call. Let us know what the doctor says!
@muggle621@aos620@sarahhedger7 I just talked to my hospital's L & D dept about this yesterday. My BP is considered borderline last few NSTs, and I have 3/5 of the most common risk factors for gestational hypertension, which often is a precursor for pre-E. Even given all those extra risks I was assured floaters by themselves do not mean you have pre-E or GH. I have an appointment coming up where I'm sure they'll check my BP and urine for protein again to be safe, and it's always good to call in case your Dr. says differently based on your medical history or if you don't have an appointment soon and you just want to get the urine and BP checked then do that, but I was assured so long as the floaters are not accompanied by a severe headache or a sudden onset of swelling (like overnight your face puffs out after looking normal the day before), I'm probably fine. Again, don't take my word for it, call your Drs, but that's what I was told. Hope that makes you feel better!!
@muggle621 - definitely get checked out just in case. BUT with my first two pregnancies I had this problem. Not sure if this sounds like the same thing you’re experiencing, but my floaters were almost more like small blind spots. They’d stay for a few hours and then clear up. Often I’d get a headache after they cleared up. I talked to my ob and all looked good. Then I researched online and there’s something called a silent migraine that follows that description. I don’t know why I got them during pregnancy but they were completely innocent and there was nothing wrong with me. So I’m not sure if this lines up with your experience but there’s mine in case it’s the same. Always good to get checked out though.
@muggle621 I actually just had them last night briefly. I’ll also ask about it at my appointment Wednesday, but there wasn’t anything else weird accompanying them.
Is anyone dealing with almost razor burn like spots all over their thighs? They are painless, and if it weren’t for the visual, I’d not even know they’re there. I think I got them toward the end of my last pregnancy as well. So weird! Thank goodness it’s still too cold for shorts.
@missnc77 I have some weird things on my thighs. Not sure if they are razor burn like, but I think they may be varicose veins or stretch marks. They're just a lot smaller than my other stretch marks so I really don't know. Not sure if it's the same thing you have though.
