My Vacation Bible School director kit showed up today while I was dropping DD off at preschool so I stayed and planned decorations and made some lists. It’s not until August but would be much easier to plan now. I was hoping it would show up a couple weeks ago but oh well at least it’s here before LO.
@megpeg it’s funny you mention that... I’m also a VBS director and am in the planning process. Sadly, ours is at the end of June. I’ll be back at work a week before it begins so that should be interesting.
Last night we came home to no water (water main break in our town) and our house smelled like gas. Found out our water heater line was leaking gas so had to get that shut off last night. Plumber came today to replace the leaking hose. $125... yippie. Baby can come any day now please and thank you! Just glad we got that disaster out of the way before she came!
Also my SIL was induced on Monday... day 3. Nothing. If she doesn't have the baby by 4 pm, they're doing a C-Section. So either way I will have a niece or nephew by tonight! OXYTOCIN VIBES!!
@mmom3 - she started to be induced on Monday with no progress until Tuesday night. Today she was only 5cm. It's past 4 now so I am assuming she is having the CS. I'm just trying to be patient and wait for my MIL to contact us once the baby is here!
Anyone getting prenatal massages at this stage of pregnancy? DH gave me a gift card for Christmas, and I finally went today. I was fine for the first half on my stomach with the wedges, but then she asked if I could lay on my back. I sometimes wake up on my back and also read before going to sleep on my back, so I said yes. It felt hard to breath though, and I started getting nauseous. I asked for a pillow thinking the elevation would help, but it just got worse. After 15 minutes, I told her I needed to switch positions, and I went on my side. It felt 100 times better, but now 6 hours later, I have a major headache, and I felt BH pains which I never get. Baby is moving fine, and I called the nurses line at my OB immediately after to make sure they weren't concerned, and the nurse was very reassuring. I'm currently drinking a lot of water, and I've read that other women have had similar reactions after a massage this late in the game. It is freaking me out, and I totally regret it. So much for a little pampering before the big day.
@missnc77 I've been getting them regularly and I really have to up my water intake before and afterwards otherwise I feel like crap. I'd just take it easy tonight and suck down some water and hopefully you'll feel back to normal soon.
@missnc77 - I have gotten prenatal massages late in pregnancy before. The massage therapist always tells me to hydrate a lot before and offers me water a lot during it. Dehydration is easy during those massages.
Needs thoughts and prayers! SIL has been laboring since Monday. She was taken about half an hour ago for a C-Section. Very nervous waiting to hear now!
@crossfitbabybump they really wanted to try to let her do this on her own. Praying for a smooth section and beautiful babe!
@missnc77 bless your heart just trying to relax and see where that gets you! How are you feeling now that you've had some time to hydrate?
AFM: this will probably be a little UO-like but I'm kind of bummed I may not get to see 50 Shades Freed and definently not Black Panther. I don't do much for entertainment but movies are my jam and we had tickets for both movies. It was the ultimate compromise lol
@missnc77 thanks for the heads up. I got a gift certificate for a prenatal massage too and was going to make an appointment next week. I guess I'll just have to drink a ton of water beforehand.
@sarahhedger7 MH and I had our second childbirth class last night, and they showed a birth video. We both cried. Being pregnant has definitely given me a different level of appreciation for the beauty of birth! And we're so close to the end now that, at least for me, any time I read a birth story or watch a video, I just picture them placing this baby on my chest... cue all the tears!
U/s is done at 35+6 baby measured at 6lbs 3oz. I don’t even have an adorable face picture to post in the ultrasound thread because it kept its foot and arms in front the whole time.
You guys know how with an iPhone you can send "live" photos so when you hold your finger on the picture you can see the movement and hear them? My SIL sent me the pics of the baby in "live" mode and I can hear his little cries... oh good lord oxytocin vibes are strong! It's making my contractions more intense and cramping more intense! And plus also, my hormones are a shit fest right now. Cue tears.
@megpeg at my last US we got a picture of the back of the head... very exciting stuff. haha These babies just want to keep us in suspense until they're here I guess!
Both my girls always had their hands in their face during ultrasounds. I get ultrasounds at every appointment just because that's what my OB does, and the later it gets in pregnancy, the worse the pictures. They just get so scrunched up in there, so it's like oh hey, here's a beautiful print out of your baby's rib cage! Cool.
They stopped giving me pics at my ultrasounds months ago because I have to get so many that it's just overkill, plus they are so scrunched up in there--every time they try to isolate a face, a cord or foot or something always gets in the way.
@DDRRT1982 thank you The cerclage journey is OVER!! It was a crazy morning, they weren't expecting me, we got to the station at shift change, my veins weren't cooperating. BUT, cerclage is out, no pain.
I literally remember rolling into the OR, saying woooo margarita in the IV, then being rolled back into my room because we were done. No spinal headache for this girl! And now we're at my favorite hole on the wall eating because who makes a 36 week preggo person fast for 14 hours?! Now to find some scissors to take these bracelets off....
@cford08 I am so glad it went well. Now to see how long you last until he makes his appearance. After my first I only lasted two days. My other two were two weeks, so it's a guessing game.
I had my cervix membrane stripped this morning. Dr was concerned about my swelling and slightly elevated BP. I’m 38 weeks today. They want to do everything they can to induce me naturally so they started with that. Let me say that was excruciatingly painful. Now I’m home resting, cramps and contractions are hitting me pretty hard. I pray to God this is it.

My mom had her membranes stripped for me, and I came along within 24 hours. Wishing the same for you! Sorry you had to do something so painful. Can't wait to hear about your little one!!!
