First appointment with my midwife on Friday. I don't think it'll be too exciting since they don't do an ultrasound but will be good to go for my first appointment.
Also, my doctor's practice has a new type of appointment, called centering appointments that they're trying to talk me into. Basically, each appointment I'm seen individually first and there's a meeting with the same group of women throughout my pregnancy. The group meeting sounds like is an educational lecture or discussion each time. I'm considering doing it. Has anyone done anything similar?
@jaylii - I did not do it, but my OB office offers it. We have 3 care options, the OBs, midwives, or the Centering group. For the Centering group, there is a pre-set schedule of meetings and it's a group of moms all due around the same time. You are given a health journal and are taught to take your weight and blood pressure on your own, but you do meet with the midwife running the group individually for private questions and a quick check-up, then the rest of the time is spent discussing certain topics as a group.
I looked into it because I liked the idea of having an in-person group similar to a BMB basically, but with my job I was never going to be able to make all the meetings on time so it didn't seem worth it to me.

@jaylii I have not heard of these centering appointments, but the practice I go to is pretty small so they probably don’t offer them. @DanyTargaryen you make them sounds like they could be beneficial.
My first appointment is this afternoon. Hopefully they will do an us.
@klj0228 basically take mine and Hs family history and find out what optional testing we want (if any). I suppose it could be a bit different since this is my second but I'm still sure it's a waste of my time.

I have the same kind of appointment next week. I remember it being pretty pointless last time too.

I had my 10 week today it was pretty much a waste. I left feeling pretty unhappy after being told that nothing has been done with my MFM referral that was out in 3 weeks ago and I should have seen the MD today because I was high risk. I already had a nurse appointment and an extra ultrasound with midwife appointment but nobody said anything about me seeing the MD instead of the midwife. On a plus I did get to hear the heartbeat on Doppler for a second before she lost it and couldn't find it again.
Excited to post on here this week!!! First ultrasound on Wed at 7+1 and if all is good we graduate from the RE. @EErin86 happy everything went well for you today. @cooksieta1@meg+on+the+DL me too on Wed, can't come soon enough girl! Will be thinking of you @DanyTargaryen and @jaylii I think those centering groups are really neat! thank you for the info. I would definitely do that. I would love some in person talks with women who are all on this journey so will have to look into that in my area. @nepatsgirl0627: 3 more sleeps! positive vibes to you. @lizzydpt: I'm sorry your appt was a bust but at least you heard the hearbeat for a short time. I want my own doppler!

@lizzydpt I’m sorry your appointment didnt go as well as you hoped. Did you ask on your way out about an appointment with the Dr.? Hopefully the next one will be better.
Going in for my Panorama blood draw on Wednesday. Let's hope they don't poke through 2 veins and make me look like an incompetent heroin addict like they did last week.
Sitting in the waiting room waiting for my first appointment. I'm so nervous and wish DH could be here to see the US with me, but he's home with a sick toddler. Hoping I get to go home with good news.
I’m sorry @nackie! My daughter got a fever last night. She’s super congested today. I had to make my mom take a half day off work Wednesday morning because my friend won’t watch my daughter if she’s sick because she has a kiddo.
Very excited for everyones first appointments this week (almost too many to tag!) and hoping they all go well!
I graduated from my RE last week and got in to see my OB this morning. It was hectic, running late, had to bring DS, but luckily he was calm and did very well. Ended up having a full pelvic and breast exam with him sitting on the chair lol. I was glad to get in with my OB so quick. Next appt is in four weeks and it starts with a 90 minute ultrasound (gasppp that is so long) to see both babies and get a billion measurements (ill only be 13 weeks). Apparently Ill get ultrasounds every 4 weeks, so Im glad about that. My OB prescribed me more pills so Im up to like 6 prescriptions a day and its getting a little overwhelming to keep up with all of them. Didnt get to hear or see the babies today but hopefully I can use my doppler at home soon!

Had my first appointment today. We really just talked about the do’s and dont’s of pregnancy and some of the things to expect in the coming weeks/months. Scheduled my first ultrasound for this Thursday, which is very exciting!
@klj0228 they scheduled one for 4 weeks. I should have an MFM visit in between there so I'm hoping I can talk with her about getting them in line. I'm just frustrated because my last practice seemed to have a better idea of how to manage me from very early on. We had a plan at 7 weeks last time and once they realized my history they were ready to make changes to the protocol as needed. I'm not seeing that here and it's frustrating.
My appointment today was awesome. Had an US to hear the heart beat. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.
I also realized in a non-martyr kind of way that this is gonna hurt. Only pain moving forward! But love is pain and you can't make another life without hard work. I'm so incredibly lucky to be pregnant, but I'm bracing for new levels of pain.
Hooray for all the good appointments so far, and for hearing the hb again @lizzydpt ❤
Just had my first Midwife/Ob visit, and it was pretty uneventful, except for hearing that sweet, sweet heartbeat with the Doppler! :D. Next appointment in two weeks for the nuchal translucency + cell free DNA screenings. :/ which can take as many as 10 days to come back. I am basically assuming it'll be normal and a waste of energy to get stressed about it, so I'm going to focus on just seeing sweet baby again... :)
My appointment was technically last week, but I never updated here because I was waiting for more information from my OB's office. I was referred to a radiology place last week for an US after experiencing light spotting on and off for 3 weeks. Baby was measuring 2 days ahead of what we thought, so my due date is now 9/10. We heard the sweet heartbeat and it was 166 bpm. They couldn't see any cause for the spotting, and I haven't experienced any spotting since the day of the US. Feeling so, so relieved and happy.

Had my 10 week appointment today—bloodwork and a doppler. Heart rate was 174 and it was such a relief to hear it! We did the trisomy tests and that also lets you know gender, so we should know what “team” we’re on in a few weeks (which seems crazy to me)!
I just wnated to share—my OB was so supportive and wonderful today. Everything is so different from my pregnancy with DS so I feel like I have as many questions as I did then. She was patient, didn’t judge anything I said (including some of my food “choices”—are they choices if literally everything else makes you want to gag?), and made me feel so calm. This is what every appointment should be like for everyone. I’m very grateful to be seeing a doctor like this!
We went to my 8 week appt today. He found a sac but cannot see a fetus or find a heartbeat. He said that he is pretty sure it’s a blighted ovum. We did blood work to see where my hormones are at. If they are too low, he is going to give me 2 weeks to pass the baby. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll talk meds or d&c. If they are high, we’ll do more blood work on Friday to see if they go up or down. He said he’s trying to be optimistic but he doesn’t feel great about it.
I’m devastated and trying to hold it together. DH is trying to be supportive. DD is clingy and whiny and I’m trying not to cry in front of her all damn day. I also wish I didn’t have a house full of people coming for her birthday party this weekend. DH said we could cancel but that’s not fair to her.
@meg+on+the+DL I'm so sorry...that's hard, and sh*tty. Keeping you and yours in my thoughts, hoping for a good outcome.
