  • I’m hoping I can be fairly motivated today and get a lot done around the house. BUT I’m tired so I’m not going to hold my breath.

  • @hillbillywife you and me both!! dd was up what felt like a million times last night ugh

  • Im tired too and jealous so badly want to take a nap at work. I wish i could but Im guessing someone would notice.

And my co-worker across from me puts a crapload of butter in her coffee and it makes me so nauseous because all i can smell is butter. Blech! I cant stand it!

  • @hillbillywife I’m hoping I can be motivated today too! I’ve been a little lazy with laundry and now I have 3 baskets of clean clothes that need folded and 3 loads that still need washed. The kids take consistent naps so I know I have time everyday, but it’s also the only time I get to sit down all day. Pregnancy is just exhausting!
  • @busymommy23 butter?! in coffee?!

    Yes. It is disgusting.

  • OMG so tired these days. I had a late rehearsal on Tuesday and didn't get home until 11pm. I am totally thrown off the rest of this week!
  • @busymommy23 I would totally be throwing up! How disgusting!

  • @busymommy23 ish so gross!
    April Siggy Challenge Social Distancing

  • @busymommy23 I know people swear by that bulletproof coffee but I have no faith that A) it doesn't taste like a** and 2) it keeps you full. I know someone doing the Keto diet and they swear by that and only that for breakfast. I would be a hangry lady.

Also, DS was supposed to have a friend come over today, and I wasn't 100% ready to have the kid and parent in teh house but it was the first time a friend of DS's had come over and I was kind of excited. She canceled early and luckily my dad is here for breakfast too so DS is still having a blast but...still.
  • I don’t normally have long nails, but a combo of pregnancy and vitamins makes them grow. I’m always getting them caught on stuff and they bend back. I just caught my pinkie nail on the couch and it bent almost from the middle! Holy shit that hurt! How do people have long nails all the time!
  • @lindsayleigh1989 ugh! I’m sorry! Kids up in the night is so irritating. I guess I shouldn’t feel *too* tired then because I don’t have an excuse.

@busymommy23 gag. That sounds so nasty.

@powellgirl totally get it! I have such a hard time being motivated during nap time because it’s the first moment of quiet during the day. I do usually do laundry then though because it keeps little ones out of my folded stuff.

@SmashJam I’m never usually disappointed when people cancel plans lol. Glad your DS doesn’t notice!
  • @busymommy23 I already feel my arteries clogging
  • @busymommy23 that is seriously disgusting.  Have you ever asked her why she does that?  It sounds like it would tear up your stomach.  I'm nauseous just thinking about it!  And I'm wondering what her cholesterol levels are like.  lol

  • @hillbillywife I am usually right there with you, excited I have more time to chill. But I have been trying to keep to this house cleaning schedule where I do a chore every day, and for once I am somewhat proud of the way my home looks, so I was half disappointed I didn't get to show off a little and half excited that I get more time to do the little projects I really wanted to have done before she came over that I didn't have time for (like cleaning off the top of the fridge). I guess its also nice I didn't have to juggle her AND my dad being here-my dad used to date her mom for like, 5 seconds and it didn't work out, and I have a feeling that maybe there is more too it than I know about, and it might have been an awkward overlap of time.
  • @busymommy23 ugh don't get me started on the bullet proof coffee or the keto diet...might be something for the UO thread!

This is pretty typical FTM bitching, but my phone still had an alarm from last week when I took the train and it went off at 6am. Haven't been able to sleep well since and now I really don't want to work...

I've got an appointment with my midwives today. I'm pretty excited, it's nothing big, just a regular appointment, but still! Plus it means I get to go into work late (hell yeah!) AND today is my Friday. Thank freaking goodness.

@DynamiteTrujillo there’s  whole lot of awesome in that post! Hope you’re appointments is awesome!

@SmashJam that’s understandable. Congrats for finding a system that’s working for you! I’m a terrible housekeeper so I’m always excited when anything in my house is clean!

I scheduled my anatomy scan yesterday (4 more weeks!) and I realized that I’m seriously anxious about finding out what we’re having. Anxious enough that I’ve thought about just not finding out so I don’t have the pressure of knowing.  Both of my BFF’s are having girls in April and it’s REALLY big deal for both of them and I’m stressed that everyone will be disappointed if we have a boy. If I didn’t have the outside pressure from my friends, I’d be excited to have a boy since it’s  been a long time since my boy was a baby. I had legit disappointment after his anatomy scan and it’d be nice to kind of re-do those feelings and I *really* don’t want to be disappointed again. I probably should have put this in the mental health thread because I think my feelings deal more with that, but oh well, it’s random too.

  • Just ordered some sushi for lunch and I'm unreasonably excited. Obviously no raw rolls but the craving is real.
  • @busymommy23 umm.. just.. what.. Does she do this EVERY day? or is it like an I ran out of creamer and I have to make do?

@powellgirl I also keep mine short for this reason. I never have nice feminine nails bc I just can't deal with them.

@hillbillywife we found out and aren't telling anyone what we are having bc I just don't want to deal with other people's expectations of my unborn child's gender. We told immediate family and a very few friends who are basically family. I needed to know bc I can't handle not knowing, but I also don't want do deal with other people's crap.

@nimmle I swear all I want to eat is sushi these days! I have yet to fulfill the craving but I might have to now!

I have my anatomy scan in 2 weeks and I really don’t want to wait that long. I did have a regular check up yesterday and all was well but I’m the most impatient person ever!

  • @rangey1234 100%. The difference between the 2 and 3 maki roll lunch special was $3....so the choice was obvious.
  • @nimmle definitely!! Why waste time with 2 when you can have 3!

@powellgirl @moguippy add me to the short nails club. I can’t deal with long ones and especially typing at work all day they get annoying fast! I always feel kind of sad because I don’t have pretty girly hands which is ridiculous because I’m sure nobody is specifically looking at my hands 24/7
  • @nimmle I was supposed to have a friend over for lunch but she cancelled, and now I want sushi!
@powellgirl @moguippy my hair and skin look great but my nails are still pretty brittle as they have always been so I also tend to keep them short. They have a nice shape so they look nice even of they aren't long and I hate typing with long nails!
  • @hillbillywife I feel like that's actually a benefit of being a STM - I really don't care what the gender is at all this time because I love my daughter so much and I think she would be happy with either!  My husband feels the same, even though he definitely wanted a boy the first time.  I have a few friends and family trying to guess and say what they want, but so far I've been good about not letting it get to me.

@nimmie sushi sounds SO SO good!!!  That's actually what I've been craving lately too but it's just not in the cards right now.  I'm leading a meeting today from 10-4, so I just ate leftover spaghetti while on a break.  It was delicious but sushi would have been WAY better!

We're struggling right now to get used to a new school for DD.  I like them, but the communication daily is lacking a lot.  For example, this morning DD recognized every letter "a" on my shirt and was pointing only at those and saying "A!". She's also been trying to sing the ABC song a lot lately.  This is all awesome, but they haven't told us that they were working on that at all or we would have been reinforcing at home!  DH is going to ask about it when he picks up today.
  • where is the green throw up face when you need it! Butter in coffee?!?!?!
  • @wildtot so glad he’s getting better! It’s hard to do the tough love thing, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!

@MichelleAG05  that’s generally how I feel too. I have one of each so it really honestly doesn’t matter which I have (it wouldn’t matter regardless). I just don’t want to be the odd one out, I guess.

@moguippy I thought about doing that too. Or lying and saying “oh bummer they couldn’t get a good picture- guess we’re team green now!” Lol
  • @hillbillywife We've either just said we're not sharing or just straight up told people we aren't going to find out.  Sometimes that's easier than telling them you know and aren't going to tell them.
  • So i may have jumped the gun on ordering confetti cannons for our reveal. We live in ohio and its cold right now. It gets dark early and all of my family that wants to come for the reveal work until 5ish. I really wanted a daytime reveal so we could get a nice picture of everyone with the confetti and everything that we would probably use as part of our announcement on facebook...no we havent said anything in there yet. I wanted to do it next weekend and ordered 6 cannons thatbwill be here on Tuesday. But now my mom works until 530 on saturday, my sister works at 5pm and i really want them there. Ugh. I doubt my dad will want me shooting them off in the house. I thouhght about just shootinf 1 off in the house and then going out the next day to shoot off the rest for our picture during the day but i dont know how i feel about that. Thoughts or ideas?

  • Do any of y’all use a foam mattress? You know the kind that are oh so popular right now and ship straight to your house in a box? I need advice. My mattress is killing me. I’m so uncomfortable. It’s over 10 years old super plush pillow top. It has zero support. Buying a mattress for a few thousand isn’t an option at the moment. But I need something to get me through this pregnancy so I’m considering ordering a foam mattress online. Anyone have experience? Tips?

  • @4deep I got one of those on Amazon three years ago and loooove it! My husband raves about it.

I'm so unproductive today. I've been going 100miles per hour in the past 2-3 weeks and I just want a break and wishing it was Friday already. But I'm so happy we enrolled in all the free classes through our hospital, hired a doula, and signed up for a birth class too which I got a mega discount for. So that accounts for some kind of productivity I guess!
  • @kissableviv That's awesome that they have free classes. Hospitals near me only seem to have paid classes.
  • @4deep we have a Nectar mattress and love it.  We got a King size for $800 with the coupon code they have.  (I just looked and it's $775 for a king or California king) They also sent two memory foam pillows.  It has a 365-day trial and lifetime warranty also.  We love it and have had it since April of last year.

  • @4deep we have a Casper king in our room-we moved so impulsively last spring I just opted for something cheap and convenient. It’s...ok. Too firm for me but my husband really likes it!
  • Alright, started call the midwife! I feel so silly, I thought it was a documentary! Compelling but so far a little hard to watch...
