For those of you who may follow the Sanctimommy page on Facebook, you've likely already seen this. For those of you that haven't seen it - apparently this is a real group and real rules. Crazy stuff.

Yeah - the two FB groups I'm in from my other BMBs did not have crazy rules/authentication like that. Don't get me wrong, there has been drama, but nothing too crazy. Neither of those groups started up until right around when babies were being born. If there was a leader like the one above I think I'd kindly pass.

This post lead me down an interesting path...

I looked up Sanctimommy on FB and scrolled through a bit to read the hilarity.
Saw a post from Tila Tequila. Apparently she's an anti-vaxer and BSC.
Scrolled through the cray on Tila Tequila's page.
Saw a post that Mark Salling from glee committed suicide yesterday.
Knew that Mark Salling had plead guilty to possession of child pornography.
Found out he was to be sentenced in March.
Found out he was legitimately a pedophile.

Oh wow @krashke - I had no idea about anything with Mark Salling (from the charges against him to his death). I'm floored. I used to love Glee.

It honestly sounds like she wants to steal peoples' identities!
Next thing you know she'll be asking for your license to make sure you're who you say you are, and your SS# "just in case".

For reals, when it is time to talk about FB, can we not label the thread FB or Group? Based on the other months it attracts so many lurkers and drive bys that say "I haven't posted lately but plz add me!". Just throwing it out there. Make it less obvious like June Bugs!

@becca_123 - We need to be ninjas about it, hah. I remember reading another BMB's thread when they were moving and people had to post that they requested, and the last like 3 pages were people who had never posted, or hadn't posted in like 3 months other than an u/s picture or something, and the regulars were just like... the eff are you?

Personally I think we should wait until the first June baby (by a regular) is born to start FB (which hopefully won't be super preemie, but I'm open to the discussion as early as it happens). I just don't really see the need to switch before that. For some reason once we have the babies and want to post a ton about them, share their photos, etc., that seems to make more sense to me for FB.

@doxiemoxie212 my other two groups have moved to fb after babies started being born. I love the bump, but fb is so much easier for me.

Eek! Thank goodness none of the mom groups I belong to are like that. I barely have time for FB and groups anyways; it would be way too much work to come up with all of that info just to be part of a group.

Yes, @doxiemoxie212, that's when Dec '16 moved. We may have stayed a month after all the babies were born. As for moving over, we got in via request from other members. So for example, you'd say you'd like to be added, and I would see it and say on FB, "y'all know Doxie right?" They'd say yes, and you'd send me your fb email via PM on here and I'd add you to the secret group.

We went to IG first. Someone created an account, which we all followed. Then, we could find each other that way. To be an approved follower, we had to PM one of the regs in the board with our IG name and BMB name to match. That way we didn’t get crazies or lurkers. Once we were on IG for a few months, we created a private FB group. It allowed us to weed out the lurkers.

Yeah, fb is so much better, at the right time of course. We’ve only had to weed out one or two since we moved over. She just wasn’t participating whatsoever and we talk about really personal stuff and share all our pictures etc. she was asked to contribute more but she just got mad at being called out and left. We’ve had zero drama though which has been nice.

Having each other when these LO’s are born is so invaluable. “What’s this rash?” “Baby won’t xyz what would you do?” “Should I be concerned?” “I just need to vent.” And on and on. It’s so good to have friends are right there with you because no one’s going to understand like we will because we’re all living it together.

TB app sucks sour milk drops. I prefer the browser, but half the time forget to get on it when I'm on my phone.

@doxiemoxie212 - I'm not gonna further jinx it, but I have to agree with you.

I think we settled a lot quicker than most other BMBs do.

@dinodna3 - You're right -- TB can use any of our posts, our images, anything that we put on here is their property. (So those HDBD photos we put up can be used for whatever they want to use them for!) It's stupid, but it's how most public forums like this work.

I must say, it was nice moving to FB before the kids were born because in the group, we made like a "birth announcement" post. I felt way more comfortable with posting pics.

And i totally agree. we settled quite nicely in this group. I see how July/Aug/Sep are hot messes, and I'm so glad I have you ladies and organization

That's insane! If I joined a group and they were like "oh you need to facetime with me" I'd leave so quick.
Sorry, but my phone doesn't accept facetime {which isn't entirely true, I just don't know how to set it up cuz it's a new phone lmao

When I first started reading this thread I was think there goes my shot at being a part of a FB group! Lol. My Feb16 moved to FB probably around the third trimester and thankfully, it's been wonderful! I hope we all can have the same experience!

What did OP hope to "prove" with all that info?

The big question I have is- did anyone join that FB group?? Could there really be that many people who would follow all that BS just to join a FB group? People are crazy. Glad most everyone on here seems pretty normal!

It seems that the post is from an already established Facebook group that I assume has a ridiculous number of members, otherwise I think it would be obvious who isn't participating.

I think it's important that we all feel comfortable in a Facebook group. Even if your profile is set to private you're sharing a lot of personal information, especially if you're actually participating. I'll admit that if I join a June 2018 group I will be very cautious at first until I can trust that everyone there is legit and safe to share my life with.

My March 2016 Facebook group started at the beginning of the third trimester with 50 members and we all participated regularly for the first few months. Then it became obvious who wasn't participating and (for lack of a better term) we called them out and they didn't respond so they got the boot. We recently did the same thing because one of the admins wasn't participating so another couple got the boot. We're down to 43 members and I think that's a great size for a group.

I just came here to say that September has already had their first suggestion for a Facebook group. Admittedly, it was shut down by virtually all responders, but wow - that is early!
