Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? OMG! Our bathroom reno finally started on Monday and it has been really tricky so far. It's been way too loud for naps, so we have a meltdown every day at 3 or 4 o'clock. Today we went to visit relatives an hour away and drove back during her normal naptime, so she got a little sleep at least. But the good news is that a new bathroom is on its way and we've been hiding away in our new basement playroom, getting her used to playing there.
GTKY: Favorite alcoholic drink (or regular drink if you abstain)? Sparkling wine! Prosecco, cava, champagne, I'll take them all. :-) Can't wait to drink it again in 4-5 months.

Lately anytime DS decides he doesn't want to listen he pretends to be a frog. He crouches low and starts hopping and going rrrrribbit. Which is hilariously frustrating.

@maplemom18 I'm so jealous your renos have started. We are in the middle of planning for painting the whole house and then are trying to book the removal of our old ensuite shower and install of the new one. I just want to be done lol

We finally moved DD2 out of the nursery! We bought bunk beds that can be separated and so the girls are now in one room. It’s been a week and bedtime has been so much easier- DD1 can’t complain about sleeping alone and we get storytime and songs done all in one sitting. They’ve been in bed before 7:30 every night... hallelujah!

my absolute favorite drink is a Brazilian caipirinha- it’s like the freshest margarita you’ve ever had! On a regular Saturday I like some Tito’s and sparkling water or a beer.

Other!!! Team Green and actually not bothered by it one but since we FINALLY figured out a neutral nursery.

If these 2 year molars don't finish coming in soon, I am going in after them. They are ruining our nights and DS has been grumpy all week which is unusual. They're taking forever!!!! I think we're over a month for DS.

I don't really have a favorite drink. I used to love wine, but the sugar kept me up at night. This summer I got really into those spiked seltzers. So good. So boozy. So crisp.
And both pregnancies I've really wanted a Blue Moon almost the whole time.

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? we’ve finally got a rock solid bedtime routine and getting actual nights where he sleeps through the entire night! We have just about completely dropped nursing in the middle of the night and bedtime. Which brings us to the disaster that is currently nap time. He’s on a nap strike and I’m struggling. Tackling a better nap time routine is on my current to do list. I have black out curtains in the mail.
GTKY: Favorite alcoholic drink (or regular drink if you abstain)? Oh How I miss alcohol! I certainly don’t drink often or much because having a toddler is exhausting but I sure do crave a beer. I’m excited it will be time for summer shandy after this baby is born. I also love a glass of wine or a raspberry frozen margarita

GTKY: Favorite alcoholic drink (or regular drink if you abstain)? I don't drink a whole lot. I don't really like anything that tastes like alcohol so no beer and I'm not big on wine. My go to drink is a Shirley Temple with vodka.

I stopped drinking alcohol when I found out I was pregnant the first time around, and haven’t gone back since. Used to drink the occasional Moscato or this fruity (actually made from different fruits instead of grapes) white wine from a couple vineyards in South Florida. Now a days, I’m obsessed over ice cold lemon water...can’t drink my water any other way. Idk if it’s a pregnancy thing this time around or what.
How old are your other kids? DS will be 4 in May.
Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? DS has been having a hard time at school behaviorally. I had a good talk with his teachers about it and feel good about the plan we came up with. Today was a rough day for him at home and at school. I feel guilty because I think it’s attention based and I feel like it might get worse when the baby comes.
GTKY: Favorite alcoholic drink (or regular drink if you abstain)? my go to is either a glass of Chardonnay or Pinot noir, depending on the weather. I do enjoy a good vodka cocktail or craft beer, but I’m pickier about those.

I had to send him to my mom’s house today because I had such bad Braxton Hicks contractions I could barely move. After laying down and drinking a ton of water they went away, but I can’t do that if J is with me. He wants to be entertained... He’s also so heavy out of nowhere!

@onesmallcoconut I had a student once who turned into a cat every time she didn’t feel like doing what I was teaching. Cute at first then hella annoying -.-
@MissusTexas I know it’s a normal bedtime but 7:30 is so early to me! How do you get them to sleep so early??? MH doesn’t get home most days until 8:30, but when J is enrolled in school in the future I figure he’s going to be getting much less daddy time anyway...
@suchaglencoco I’m so worried about molars coming in now that I’m not nursing him anymore. I’m having to relearn how to comfort and teething is going to be so much worse for it

@glitzandglitter because I spent all evening in bed after running around all day with J I didn’t get ANY laundry done -.- I don’t have enough clothes that fit me to accommodate skipping laundry day /whine
@hcrish I’m not a big drinker either. I got a little tipsy on my bachelorette party weekend, which is also the weekend after I conceived this one, but before that I probably didn’t drink for a few months. I’m just not a big fan of the taste, or how shitty it makes me fee afterwards. Weed on the other hand.. (we all have our vices I guess)
@mileswithmyles behavior issues are hard. It’s great that you have a game plan in place and support for it!
@ivyvines6 good to hear! I’m going to lose my mind if we don’t get consistent naps back! I’m also worried about when the 2 year molars come in because we are trying to be finished with nursing and that’s all DS wanted to do with the rest of his teeth.
This is spiked seltzer sounds like an awesome warm weather drink! I’ll have to check it out.
@onesmallcoconut That made me laugh, too. My girls do that, too, they'll be a kitty or a dog or whatever. They are also really into dress up right now, which is totally not the same thing,, but they get very frustrated if I call them by their names instead of Puss in Boots and Katie. Or Princess Daisy-rella and Minnie-rella (thank you, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). I love their imagination, but yeah it can totally get tiring really quickly.
@MissusTexas that sounds like heaven! Our girls have always shared a room, and it's hard to get them to stop playing and get them to actually go to sleep.
@suchaglencoco Ugh, molars are the worst. I say have a Blue Moon, maybe just half, just to keep your sanity!! Blue Moon is my normal go to if I'm drinking beer, too, I love it!
@clee5711 Hope the black out curtains work for you! They were a lifesaver when I worked night shift.
@glitzandglitter I've been in this weird "either or" situation where during the week I feel so tired and lazy after work that nothing gets done, and then on weekends I'm a crazy person about getting things done. It's like where is all this motivation during the week??

Rant- I failed my 1 hour glucose test, so I have to do the 3 hour on Monday. I'm so irritated. Rave- I guess I have an unexpected three day weekend? Silver linings, I guess.

It depends on so much stuff. Where I am, what I'm doing, if I'm out to get drunk LOL My go-to's are usually Blue Moon or Smithwick's for beer, amaretto sour for liquor, I rarely drink wine but when I do it's usually Moscato or either Apothic Red or Apothic Crush (red blends). If I'm out with "my crew" (which I haven't been in probably two years...) and looking to get drunk I do shots of whiskey and drink beer in between.

DS is hitting the terrible 2s, and I give in to whatever he wants most of the time, because I am just too tired to redirect/ stay calm/ etc (which means he had 4 cookies last night after he turned on the waterworks).
He also has had his eye teeth coming in for like the last 2 months. I can’t even imagine what he will be like with the 2 year molars

I cannot wait to have a nice summer beer (hints of grapefruit or lemon are my favorite). Glad we are having spring babies so they might be in stock (my last baby was feb, so summer beers weren’t out yet!)

Rant- my daughter has been so emotional lately. It seems like now that she's walking and doing things on her own, she wants to be independent but at the same time she's also been extra clingy. I'm sure this is a normal phase of trying to figure out her own emotions but man.. where did my easy-going, compliant baby go?!?
We also need to work out a nap routine @clee5711 she still needs to be rocked to nap and that can't happen once baby2 is here so the clock is ticking.

I'm not a big drinker but I love Moscow mules! Favorite non-alcoholic drink is a Strawberry Limeade from Sonic. I think it's just Sprite with sugary strawberries added to it but it's so refreshing and delicious and probably has a weeks worth of sugar in it.

Rant: Can we please just figure out this sleep before baby comes. It feels like we will never get her to sleep at night. She doesn't like to sleep alone and always wants us near her. Rave: She is going to be a good big sister. She has been so loving kissing my belly multiple times a day rubbing it and saying baby.

@sandbar517 Good luck with the countertops! That sounds like it'll be quick, so hopefully not too bad. We're done with day 4 over here...still hoping that one of these days it'll be quiet enough to take a nap. But at least I'm putting her to bed early, so the extra time at night is kind of nice!

Question: My DS is a runner. Today in the mall I had such a struggle with trying to keep him close. Any advice for keeping a toddler from bolting in public when you have another little bean in tow? I’m so nervous about trying to take two out at once. And nursing, what the heck am I going to do to keep him nearby and content when we have to feed? Ugh.
Rant: DS felt the baby kick in my belly today, he was so pumped!

Our son wasnt really a good sleeper either until after his 2nd birthday, but it did get better! He transitioned from needing us next to him to fall asleep by us leaving his bedside a little earlier each night, and when he followed us we would always gentle lead him back. We took things at his pace and were patient. Unfortunately we’ve regressed a bit since becoming pregnant, as I now sometimes accidentally fall asleep after our cuddle instead of leaving the room, oops. He had also continued to wake every few hours until recently, but now he’s only up typically once through the night. We didn’t make any changes there, I suppose he was just ready. Will be sending positive vibes and thoughts your way, best of luck @knw007

Rave- it’s nice my son is at the age where he can be independent. We were both sick this week but he was a trooper when I was napping and would lay and watch the iPad for a bit to let me rest.
