Re: Questions week of 1/22

  • @comealongponds good to know! I found out today both placentas are posterior so I’m going to try to pay attention to anything that might feel fluttery-I’m 17w tomorrow

  • I actually feel most movement when I'm laying down on my side kinda putting pressure on my uterus with the bed or my legs curled up. Weird I know, but feeling anything just standing up isn't cutting it yet. And I'm not even totally confident in feeling baby all the time but i think it's safe to say I've felt her a few times. I'm at 15/15.4 weeks right now.

Question for this if you who nanny or STM+. Our sitter offered to occasionally take DS to museums and places like that. I really like the idea but how does that typically work? Does the parent pay extra for that admission? What question or concerns should i bring up when we discuss the details?

  • I have a small in home daycare and on days when I only have one  kiddo I’ll take her places like the zoo or children’s museum. She’s under two so she gets into most places for free, but I also have passes to a lot of things since I take my son. I have a friend who babysits also. She doesn’t have kids of her own, but she buys passes to take the kids. In my opinion there are some really great free things you can do with kids (the park, library), so if she wants to take them somewhere you have to pay, she should get a pass. Some places also offer passes for parents, but you can add a nanny’s name. Ultimately it’s up to you and your nanny.
  • @powellgirl thanks for the feedback! Totally forgot about free admissions because he’s still little.
  • On one of our threads somewhere someone asked about wearing silicone rings as a replacement for a wedding ring because of swelling during pregnancy. I can't seem to find it again or if there was an answer to it. Does anyone know? My wedding ring still fits comfortably, and pretty much the only times I don't wear it is when I'm golfing or lifting weights, and I feel completely naked without it. So I'm trying to find an alternative for it/when my fingers swell. Thanks!

Yes! Mine fits fine also, but I use a brand called "ringfit" when I'm at the beach or at the gym!
  • Thanks. I'll have to look into that. I have an Enso ring I wear for activities, but wasn't sure about it being comfortable with swelling. I didn't get it until after summer was ramping down here last year so never really got a good test out of it.
  • @noideawhatshesdoing my husband and I both have QALO rings! He wears his 24/7 because he’s a mechanic. I’ve been wearing mine recently because my wedding ring isn’t in good shape and I don’t want it to get broken. It’s so comfy though and super stretchy so idk why it would be a problem with swelling.
