@zombiehoohaa i carry around a 32 oz bottle and i make myself drink at least one by noon and a second by the time i get home. That’s regardless of whatever else i drink in the day/night. With DS i was so thirsty i drank 3 of those like nothing. It’s a struggle this time around. I’ve been flavoring it too to make it more appealing.
@zombiehoohaa I do the same as @wildtot, just a smaller bottle so I try and drink 2 by lunch, then 2 after. I STRIVE for 3 and 3 because I have UTIs a lot pregnant and that seems like it would help but...sometimes I freakin' hate water.
Has anyone been to an outdoor music festival while pregnant? There's one I want to go to in June but I'd be 35 weeks pregnant. It's not bonnaroo or anything, it's a pretty small one and I can stay to see who I want to see and then leave. I figure as long as I can find some shade I'd be fine. I'm just worried I'm not thinking of something and don't want to buy tickets I won't be able to use!
I have been when I was like, 24 weeks and I was fine (but that's not nearly as bad as 35). I even stood for all of it! The thing I forgot about that I usually don't care about is the damn weed. Like, I am visibly preggo could you please smoke weed away from me, lol. Just hydrate and bring a chair if you can in case you swell!
So, I went to a music festival when I was 33 weeks with DS2. We were chaperoning a youth group, so I wasn't always able to rest/leave when I needed to, and did way more walking than I should have. Unfortunately, I ended up going into labour the day after we got back. I think it was a combination of the stress from that festival, combined with a lot of other family stress (a cousin had passed away, a sister-in-law's divorce). I ended up being transported by ambulance to another hospital with a NICU where they managed to stop my labour, but 3 days in the hospital followed by 3 more weeks of bedrest were not fun. Like I said, I don't blame it all on the festival, but I think it was a factor. If you do go, be careful not to push yourself, hydrate, shade...just be very careful.

@ckmb_knottie I went to concerts (indoor, not festivals) at 29/30 weeks pregnant with my twins. As long as you go prepared (lots of water, umbrella in case there’s no shade, lawn chair etc) I th8nk you’d be fine!
@zombiehoohaa I’m struggling to drink enough too. I’m drinking a lot of herbal teas since it’s cold here now (caffeine free) and just doing my best but i definitely get to 6pm some days and realize I’ve barely had any water.
@zombiehoohaa I've been able to do it with bubbly water. I was having the same issue with regular water..ended up getting a soda stream since my LaCroix spending was getting a little nuts
@katc819 +1 for the soda stream, it's amazing! @zombiehoohaa I don't have any issues with drinking enough water, I usually fill up a large one and immediately refill it when it's empty. I try to drink water away from meals and it's just so automatic for me. One thing that helps the intake is to have a full glass by your bed and drink those 8oz first thing in the am. I love the refreshing feeling as we're all so dehydrated after sleeping.
I always struggle with water intake. I joke about being a camel but I was scared a little bit when I got a kidney infection in August and was given 7L of fluid while I was in the hospital.
I keep a 4c straw cup around the house. I drink much better out of a straw. My goal is for 2 a day because that’s an incredible amount of fluid for me lol. Some days I get it some days I don’t.
I like those squeezey flavor things. I try not to do them too much though because they give me a headache sometimes.
I'm totally having a hard time drinking enough water these days too. Not normally an issue for me, but it seems like a chore right now. We have a fridge that has a soda stream built in, like where you get the water and ice from (I have a serious bubbly water habit). But even that is unappealing. I think I'm just tired of having to use the restroom all the time!
@zombiehoohaa Some days I’m soo thirsty and could easily drink a gallon+ without even thinking about it, others I realize I haven’t drank anything but my morning coffee all day at dinner time. I’m trying to get more consistent. Having a water bottle on me at all times helps, I’ve also been really liking lemon water which I used to hate. I use a yeti which I think keeps it a refreshing temp for longer.
Also, the thought of a music festivale mid summer at 8 months pregnant is nightmare fuel for me. Stay hydrated and have fun! @ethnomusicwhat I’ll be over here hiding in the shade with my popsicles.
I second keeping around a giant bottle (I have a 32oz Nalgene, throwing it back to college!) I actually try and drink four of them a day. I keep it by my bed at night and normally end up drinking one between before bed/nighttime wake ups/morning. Adding lemon and ice and drinking from a straw also help me!
I just bought a 32oz camelback water bottle with a straw to carry around and keep by my bed so I can drink from it even while laying on my side in bed without spilling. I feel like I’ve been lucky in the I’m so thirsty all the time so I’ve been drinking a lot of water but totally +1 to being annoyed I’m doing it because I know how much it’s going to make me pee and I’m sick of it!
has anyone had a positive first trimester blood screen? I took a call from MFM this morning that stated my ultrasound was perfect but that my blood screen/finger poke came back positive. The lady said that my hcg level is still showing low and that it can sometimes mean that there can be an issue with the trisomy's or something along those lines. We go in tomorrow to talk with the dr and most likely have the NIPT done but I'm freaking out in my head. This pregnancy has been nothing but up and down and nothing like my other 2. I've been concerned about something being wrong since the beginning and now this just has me scared. I'm so thankful that the ultrasound came back normal because maybe it means that it is just a fluke on the test.?

@busymommy23 oh wow what a rollercoaster, I’m so sorry you’re going through that worry again! I would think it’s good that the ultrasound went so well, I hope the blood test was just a fluke!
@busymommy23 hopefully it was just a bad sample or something. Has your doc told you what the follow up will be? I hope everything settles down for you soon!
@busymommy23 it's good that the ultrasound was reassuring, the blood test could be a potential falso positive? I'm going to tag you in the genetic test thread, lots of good information there!
Thanks @acunamatada, @comealongponds, and @kissableviv. They said that the follow up tomorrow is with the specialist and they will go over the details of the screening results and then we will move forward with the nipt. I appreciate the tag in the genetic testing thread. I totally forgot we had one!

if I try to drink 4 16 ounces bottles, it never happens. But I find I’ll drink 1 bottle in the am, then take my 50 ounce Smartwater or a water bottle and I’ll finish that because it’s “just the one bottle”. Weird I know. Today, I finished my 66 ounces by the time I got back from a late lunch (2:20), but I couldn’t bring myself to go get another bottle of water still! lol
@lindsayleigh1989 I was induced with both, same time in pregnancy. I assume my third will be the same. HOWEVER, a friend who switched to a much more physical job with her second (sheep shearing and custom butchery) was 1 day early with her second instead of overdue. Although now that i think about it she still went natural just late, so neither of these comments help. Did you wait til the last possible day to get induced with #1?
@lindsayleigh1989 I was induced with my first (she was 9 days late and fluids were low), my second I went into labor on my own 3 days after his due date, but I did a lot of walking those last few days....I did 6 miles one evening after dinner and then the contractions started!
Has anyone felt baby yet? I’m 15+6 and I’ve been pretty sure that I’ve been feeling little kicks from him/her but I don’t know if it’s too early. Could it be poop? Lol.
@hillbillywife solidarity on the constipation. all the time. I'm 16 weeks today, FTM. I've had a few moments where I'm like "oh, is that you?" but I think I'm convincing myself its too early or that just wasn't it. However, I think around this time the baby can be felt so it very well could be the little one in there that you feel!! I had a friend that started feeling her son at 16 weeks.
@hillbillywife I've been feeling kicks for a week or two! (17w) definitely not too early! Also a STM, which if I'm remembering right I didn't feel them with my first for a few more weeks.
So jealous of anyone feeling kicks. As a FTM with twins (who apparently just kick each other for a while) I feel like it’s going to take forever to feel anything!
I can't wait to feel baby too! As a FTM I know I have to be patient. He looked active in there so I'm hoping in the next week or two I'll be able to feel him.
@lindsayleigh1989 my sister was induced around 40 weeks with her first, with her second she went into labor on her own around 39 weeks. I was induced with #1 so I am reallllly hoping my body acts similarly to how my sister's did.
With DS i started feeling at 16 wks. I think I’ve been feeling movement but it feels more like pressure. I’ll be 16 wks tomorrow. I can definitely tell when it’s gas though lol
@hillbillywife Honestly, constipation is ruining my life, too. I wish I was feeling my poop doing ANYTHING other than staying completely still inside my body. TMI?

Haha! It’s so miserable! Have you tried colace? It helped me when I was really super miserable. Also made me gassy though which wasn’t cute.
Maybe it is baby then! Thanks ladies! I thought I’d know for sure when baby was moving since this is my 3rd, but those first kicks are so little. It’s hard to tell.
@devilcat139 I think I felt twin A (posterior placenta) around 16w so you might feel them soon! Twin B I felt later because he had an anterior placenta.
I felt #1 and #2 at 16 weeks, not even the flutter but full on pokes. Not constant but occasional. So its possible you are feeling them! @wildtot I have had the occasional pressure and thought it might be movement as well, like super low in my abdomen. But then again, it could be poop, because I try so hard not to poop due to hemorrhoids, lol.
