Re: Randoms - Week of 1/22

  • @mdfarmchick I’m seriously ticked off! Like who does that??
  • @BrittnieMariee still no response at all?? What about to your friend who spent her money on this?!

  • @BrittnieMariee Solidarity. The photographer for my baby shower this weekend pretty much just backed out on me. Told me he'll let me know for sure tomorrow. But I'm 99% he's a no go. It seems to be an epidemic  :s

  • @mdfarmchick still no response! Still avoiding reading my messages! My friend is livid. I’m gonna talk to her tomorrow and see what she wants to do since it’s her money and all.

@cford08 oh no!! I’m so sorry!! Hopefully it works out for you!!
  • @BrittnieMariee I feel bad for myself, but worse for you! My guy is family, so he couldn't really dodge me. I hope your friend gets her money back at the VERY least.

  • After putting it off for almost two years because I’m a terrible procrastinator, I finally put the order in for roughly 60 prints of pictures I’ve had saved and they arrive today! I can’t wait to have up to date photos of my family!

    @Cowboycorgi how are you feeling?
  • @ShawnnaO ugh I need to do the same but I keep putting it off. My husband even hung up the frames I bought for a small gallery wall and they've been up for over a year with the stock photos still in them.  :D

  • @ashleyf911Omg I also put up a gallery wall months ago and have no pictures in them!!!! Glad I'm not alone!!!
  • @megpeg your phone battery being at 5% gives me anxiety!!!  :D
  • @ashleyf911 I kept putting it off because it was such a pain at the store. It always seemed like something didn’t work so I never got it done. Then my dad told me I could just order them from Walmart online and they would ship the prints to me!!!! LOVE!
  • I was woken up by my daughter at 1 am bc of my snoring and then couldn't go back to sleep.  Then went back to sleep at 4.  Woke up late.  The insomnia is one of the most frustrating things about pregnancy.  Oh well!
  • @crossfitbabybump that is so exciting!! I can't believe how close you are! :)
  • @chasingroygbiv - I know right!? I got excited when she told me that but deep in my mind I'm trying to remain calm and just assume I still have 4 weeks to go lol!

Filling out birth certificate paperwork (!!!) and there is an option on my county's version of the paperwork to allow or not allow the SSA to share the new child's SS # with the Dept of Health Services. I wasn't aware this option existed. Anyone here have thoughts on that? I'm doing a bit of googling on it but pretty confused on the costs and benefits of either choice.
  • @vflux33 I haven’t heard of that...
  • I had to go to a seminar today(boo for not going to the beach). The speaker came up to me kissed me on the cheek and touched my belly and left his hand there while he talked to me. Weird!!!!!!

uhhh what?! Why do people think it's acceptable to touch strangers just because they're pregnant? Ew.

  • @megpeg ewwwww how creepy!!
  • @megpeg Ew gross! This whole pregnancy lack of autonomy thing is getting oooooooold.
  • @megpeg - whooooaaaa. What did you do?? Sometimes I just freeze in disbelief and sometimes I’m able to think straight and turn my body away or walk away.
  • @megpeg what in the actual faaqq?? I would have throat punched him for sure!
  • I feel like there is nooo way this baby will stay in for 7 more weeks.  It's my second, is this a STM thing? I feel like I did at 38 or 39 weeks and I'm only 33! He feels like he's just going to fall right out when I walk!
I was just saying this to my friend. How do I feel this way at 33 weeks...oh man.

@StephBrim24 just stood there like WTF and what do I do?
He is my husbands “coach” so I guess he feels like he knows me but this was the first time we met.

  • So my husband got the flu while we were on our 4 day vacation. It sucked. But worst part is, he's been acting as if he's dying.
its taking a lot of strength not to punch him.....

  •  @vflux33, If it’s what I’m thinking of- which it may or may not be- it allows the SSA to share your baby’s information with the local agency that determines public assistance (think Medicaid and Food Assistance). In my home state, that agency is called Dept of Health and Human Services. In my current state, it’s the Dept of Social Services (which I happen to work for). The federal agency that determines Medical Assistance policy is Department of Health and Human Services. It would make my job easier because we have to add the child’s SSN at a certain point of age (usually by the age of one, depending which program the family is getting) to be able to check SSA’s system to see if the children are receiving SSI/SSA monetary benefits (which unfortunately most parents would try to hide if given the opportunity since most public assistance is based on family income).
But they may ask for you to do it for another reason- I’m sure the nurses would be able to give more insight because each state/municipality does things slightly different.
  • Thank you @maelily15! I ended up checking "no" because no one had said a reason before --that makes sense. We're not planning to apply for assistance, so not trying to hide anything... Just figured one less agency having their SS numbers would mean less likelihood of ID theft, etc., and that we could always supply the number if asked later. I'm glad to hear there is a reason though! Weird they give you the option in my county without any guidance about why... thanks again!
  • It’s just interesting because they don’t offer that option in my county but the hospital will send a notice to our agency that a baby was born to a mother with Medicaid (it auto entitles the child) so we can add the new child to Medicaid...I guess the hospital does it to make sure they get paid. Lol.
