I’m 34 weeks today and don’t know what happened to the rest of my pregnancy either! I need at least 20 more weeks to get things in order! I know with my first one it took me about 18 months to get back to being productive and the second was at over 2 years other then the basic things such as laundry, cooking, household surface cleaning, and running my daughter to dance. I can’t imagine how long it will be with now a third one.
Also, anyone else have a mile long to do list before baby arrives - not just baby stuff? I’m a huge list maker so I’m thinking I am going to go room by room to start a master list and plan my weekly/daily to do’s around that. It’s satisfying to see some things get checked but also helps me organize and prioritize which things I need to get done ASAP. Anyone in the same boat?
@mmom3 yes! I have a room by room list of what needs to be done and DH is so annoyed with me lol he thinks “we have plenty of time”. Like we haven’t been through this before, especially with me having false labor already. Either way we’re down to less than 2 months and I’m freaking out about getting more checked off my list lol
@mmom3 I am mostly done with our main floor- DH and I went crazy 2 weeks ago buying new furniture for everywhere so things could be more organized- new couch, love seat, ottoman, twin bed in babies room, and a new headboard for ours. i got mostly everything organized up stairs but my basement is a disaster now and I hate that. So that may be my next task.
I feel like we’re mostly ready. I’m a STM though, so I wasn’t starting from scratch. I built two registries for the discounts and finally sucked it up this weekend and bought them out. That’ll complete everything we need. Now, I just need to go through DD1’s newborn and 3 month clothes that I have and see what I want to keep. DD2 will only be off 2 months from DD1 seasonally, but it’s still snowing here in March vs DD1 being in short sleeve onsies when she was born in May. I’m hoping by 3-6 months, the cloths align better seasonally!
I feel like time is dragging though. I couldn’t even remember what week I was on through 30 weeks, and now I’m counting each day. I’m just ready to get this show on the road, mainly because we’re also putting our house on the market in the spring and moving cross country this summer. Lots of stress, and I am so afraid of how I’ll handle it all with a newborn and toddler.
Yep. Lots to do around here as well I feel like, but DH says “it’s fine, calm down,” etc... eye roll...
I haven’t set up any baby stuff other than in the nursery because of my other 2 going to school and sports and bringing home who knows what with sickness being so bad right now. Figure it’s just best to hold off. Swing set up won’t take long and I just have to bring the bouncy chair up and put the cover back on.
General upkeep of house chores, too. I usually wipe down my kitchen floors every night or at least every other, but with my back and ribs it’s been more like once a week. It’s currently way over due and driving me insane!
I don't want her born early, but if I could snap my fingers and be 39 weeks that would be great. I need my body back to keep up with my kids, work, and everything else. I feel like everything else I need to do I could do with her here more efficiently.
This is a big week for me. 33 weeks was when I started swelling with my last pregnancy that made the last weeks miserable. I've been working out to help keep my weight down as much as possible (lol, I've still gained 25 to 30lbs), so we will see. So far I still have ankles, so that's a great sign.
I'm a ftm so I've been way too excited this whole time. Everything is pretty much ready at 31 weeks. The shower is this weekend and whatever I don't get, I'll finish buying from my registries.
44 days until my scheduled RCS... I'm kinda freaking out! We're not as prepared as we'd like to be. I feel like the nesting bug has started settling in, but with 3 other kiddos at home, I can't get the house as clean/ready as I want.
@ladybugsamom I just peeked at my countdown after avoiding it for awhile... 35 days. I'm in the same boat... I really feel like I need to get this house in shape, and do some shopping for my hospital bag and the nursery, but I have a 2.5 year old tornado that makes cleaning and decluttering impossible.
Yes, I have a 3 year old tornado as well whose birthday party is this weekend so it’s darn near impossible to get something down without something else being turned upside down. I finally got a new carpet cleaner so between this week and last I’m doing all my downstairs carpets, the stairs, office, and upstairs hallway. Ive already done all the couches. All the blinds and windows are finally cleaned on our main floor.
Ive got 5-6 weeks to go and no clue how I’m going to be ready. I gave away a lot of baby things, but it’s so many little things too that I forget about. However, I did purchase some tuck’s pads and soothie gel pads for nursing yesterday.
My current view of the gulf, it’s 83 and sunny. Working on art for the baby’s room and relaxing until Sunday when I go home. I will try to make my HDBD amazing.
@megpeg - I say this with love, you suck. Minnesota is getting nailed by a winter storm right now, lol!
Yesterday, DH and I had our maternity photo shoot. It was finally nice and "semi" warm enough to get them done! I can't wait to see how they turned out!!
I feel like there is nooo way this baby will stay in for 7 more weeks. It's my second, is this a STM thing? I feel like I did at 38 or 39 weeks and I'm only 33! He feels like he's just going to fall right out when I walk!
@bravoandprosecco omg yes. My first was born at 39 weeks and I’m only 34+5 now but I feel basically the same now as I did then! Also, so tired. My nurse even commented on how tired I look lol
@bravoandprosecco I hardly ever wear make up lol maybe for our rare date days and some special occasions, or if I randomly want to feel pretty. But lately it’s just not worth the effort lol
My first came at about 38.5 weeks, and I’m so afraid this one is going to go to 41 weeks for some reason. I’m like you other ladies where I am already feeling physically like I did in those last few weeks, and I’m only 33+4. It feels like I have an eternity to go.
@BrittnieMariee does the photographer have a Yelp or FB? Sometimes calling folks out is the only way to get their attention. I know it sounds petty, but so is ghosting you....
@megpeg you are living your best life right now and I fully expect your HDBD pic to be everything!
@vflux33 I know you have dealt with being sick a lot... want to give me a rundown of what you could safely take to deal with a bad cold? My fever has been less than 100 and I don’t have one today at all but I feel like I’m not getting enough oxygen if that makes sense?
@mdfarmchick Sorry you're sick! Sure, happy to share. I tried Benadryl earlier in the pregnancy and it basically didn't work for me at all. Breath right strips have helped me--they are totally drug free so I'm taking them every night (I have pregnancy rhinitis so even though I don't have a cold now I feel like I need them every night at minimum for congestion). Elevating at night has helped me with congestion too--again, not enough on its own, but helpful. I make myself a pillow mountain on bad nights. I also use a humidifier when I get a cold, but if you're sensitive to sound make sure to get a really quiet one. I tried Rhinocort spray for congestion, which is mostly for allergies, but it didn't really work. I was cleared for flonase and claritin but those are more for allergies also so I didn't bother trying them. This last time when I got the flu, I finally broke down and took sudafed (the hardcore kind that you have to buy behind the counter--there's another kind that's not behind the counter and nurses said that one doesn't work so make sure you get the real one). I didn't get the 12 hour version though--I got the 4-6 hour version and I took the child's dose (half an adult dose) just at night because I couldn't sleep while mouth breathing. It helped so much and I think hastened my recovery because of sleep improvement. I personally wouldn't take it for days and days though --just took 3-4 times and when symptoms decreased I went back to only using the Breath Right strips, humidifier, and pillow mountain. Everything I just said was cleared with my doctor/nurses, but obviously if in doubt best to call your own.
@vflux33 thanks! I can’t stand breathe right strips—weird quirk I guess?? But I’ve been doing a pillow mountain and a humidifier. I think Sudafed is on the approved list so thanks for the tip about which one to take. I need to find the list from my OB.
That moment when on the first day of class a student won't put their cell phone in the cell phone cubby and you have to get administration involved and call the parent.
On the bright side this is my underload semester, so I'm done teaching by 11:45am. Woot woot!

One of my close friends had already prepaid for the session as a Christmas present to me. I’ve asked her to refund the money and she STILL hasn’t even read the message. So I’m gonna try one more time before I blast her on Facebook. She does it as a side thing I guess? But it’s still unacceptable to take someone’s money and then NOT do what you’re supposed to.
I’m so tired this week, and it’s only Tuesday! We had a field trip today and it felt like I stood from 9:15 until 11:30 straight in a million degrees. Then of course, I was supposed to get an extra 30 minutes while my class was in library today, but the decided to do a fire drill... ugh!!! I’m with you ladies, there’s no way this boy is going to make it until March! I love teaching, but come on maternity leave!!!
