Re: FFFC 1/26
By law, I was to be paid. By law, I was /am in the right. And frankly we could use the $XK that I rightfully earned. DH and I have fought for over a year on this, as my former employee escalated , went to mediation and screwed around, and escalated, until we were in front of a judge this week.
DH complained he had to take a vacation day, so I could go chase this.
And you know what? I won. My money plus damages for discrimination, and my lawyers fees. So there has been a happy dance punctuated by "i told you so" going around in my head for a few days. DH has simply said congrats.
Mind you, flowers and ice cream showed up yesterday, and we had a great time planning how we are going to utilize the settlement. (Debt, invest, new bed for dd and a 4 day vacation)
You watch, in about a year he will be crowing about how great it was to stand up for myself and that getting that boost really helped on this mat leave etc. Grrr... I love him. I love him. I love him.

I know its none of my business, but per our discussion in the health and safety thread and common sense, nothing in the crib with the baby! Why do people do things that are known to increase SIDS risks?

@rnielsen321 Yes. Yes, yes YES!!!
My FFFC is that I almost never shave both legs in a single go. Halfway through the first I get bored and annoyed at all the extra time (you know, all 30 seconds of it) required and decide I'll just even 'em up the next time.
@emiliadkay OMG, that would drive me bonkers. I don't consider myself particularly OCD, but I couldn't deal with one shaved and one unshaved leg.
@katelynrae86 I’m not sure I’m going articulate this well, but something that bothers me in that situation (besides the willing increase of SIDS risk) is that that mother is unbelievably lucky, and I sure would like to see her acknowledge that. Like, the reason you can post sassy little hashtags like that is because you haven’t known tragedy. I think of a mom who has experienced any kind of crib death seeing that post and just want to barf.

Also, being angry your 4 month old isn't sleeping through the night? For real? Someone has unrealistic expectations. When she's not potty trained by 1 year, is she going to give up on her daughter? Ick.
