He was like ‘oh that’s good’ lol. And as I was telling him about my day and I said ‘I’m really excited’ “I can tell you are!” Lol. I did see that amidst the groceries he grabbed for me (he works at a store) he got a snickers bar which is very random... and I JUST noticed it says PRINCESS on it lol. We aren’t the princess types but still cute.
we told the kids too! I videod it... it took them forever to get it with my 2yo big bro tee shirt but the moment where my oldest got it, his face was AMAZING. Just, like “OHHHH!!!!!!!” Then 2 guessed girl and 1 boy. My 5yo was bummed it is a girl but he’s already come around and was kissing my belly and talking to her

I did the Harmony test at 11 weeks - I did the draw on a Monday and they had the results ready by Friday. I believe out of pocket cost is ~$350 but to me it was worth it to have more peace of mind that the baby was ok - they check trisomy's, downs, the sex chromosomes (one of my friends found out some concerning info at this point and it was good for them to prepare and inquire about after the baby was born. Otherwise not sure how'd they'd know there were any issues?). I did IVF so I was probably more anxious than most at this stage, and this gave me peace of mind. I did ask them to mail the gender results so we could open the envelop together
IVF baby girl born 7/2018 TTC 2013. FET 11/17 - BFP after attempt #6!
OB's office called this morning to say my insurance company finally agreed to the NIPT, but they wouldn't pay for the gender, which is fine as I didn't want to know anyway. So since we're still paying for things due to our high deductible I asked how much it'd be, she said $945. Wtf.
I would shop around for a better price, but our area is kind of small so I'd assume everyone uses the same around here. Anyone have experience with informaSeq?
I got the results of ours today - everything looks "normal" and we're having a girl! My blood draw was on the 12th at 10w2d but I'm not sure what company my doc used. The PA said the name but I was worried more about hearing the results. I'll be 38 at delivery.
Edit: Results posted in MyChart overnight and it was InformaSeq. I've not gotten the bill yet so unsure of cost. AMA here so fingers crossed.
Those wanting the Harmony but insurance not covering it. I called the company directly and they told me max oop will be $200 for me. When I did it with my second they were doing it for only $60 so I am crossing my figures they will hold to it again.
It’s cheaper then the NT scan for us with our insurance so we are going to do it.
With DD1 they charged us $100 out of pocket. For my last pregnancy (my loss), it cost about $950 out of pocket but was worth it. It'll be the same this time but is majorly worth it since we are at a higher risk to have a baby with a trisomy, but I am hoping so much that my much better insurance I have this year will cover the testing since I have the high risk now.
Any other moms opting out? I'm only 28 so insurance won't cover it, but I was offered it for $350 out of pocket through my doctor's office. I just feel that the only real benefit would be knowing earlier as it wouldn't change me going through with the pregnancy. I've also confirmed that if anything is seen on my 20 week anatomy scan, we can investigate further then (which will likely be covered by insurance at that point). I guess it would make sense that a thread about the testing would be full of people taking part... But I was just curious whether anyone was in the same boat as me?
@doctormom33 same boat here! We did opt for the genetic test and carrier screening with DD, but I can't justify the extra expense this time around unless the anatomy scan comes back abnormal
@doctormom33 I don’t remember it being available with my 3 boys but if it was we wouldn’t have done it. I wasn’t ama, and we were team green. We opted out of the first tri screenings too.
Same here @doctormom33. I'm not considered AMA yet, so it would be $200 out of pocket. I did the regular exam with my daughter, and will do the same with this one. If something comes up as concerning, then we'll do the panorama.
@doctormom33 Same. I'm not AMA and don't have any risk factors, so we are just doing the normal tests (NT scan/blood work is routine at 12 weeks at my office, with anatomy scan at 20 weeks). No reason to pay extra for additional tests we don't need, especially if it might cause unnecessary stress if it shows a false positive. If one of the routine tests reveals something abnormal, then we'll consider additional testing.
I wasn’t offered the test with my DD I was 33 when I had her. I am 37 will be 38 when I have this LO. I am for sure getting the test this go around. At this point I don’t know what my decision will be if the test were to come back positive. I have had this conversation with DH and we are unsure.
Side note, I have checked the Natera websIte multiple times to see if my test is at least registered and nada. UGH
Congrats to the mommas who have found out the sex already. So exciting.
@doctormom33 I had it done the last time because a soft marker was found at our anatomy scan. I will not do it this time unless we have a similar issue. We will do the NT scan and the anatomy scan. NT scan in 12 days!!!
Got my results finally, and thank goodness baby is healthy. Such a big relief, though I am still in shock and won't totally believe everything is ok until after I get my NT ultrasound. And a bonus, we found out we are having a boy

DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
Our results have been sitting on the Drs desk for 3 days. Had all the bloodwork done 1/17 and I called today to check on it. We are having a healthy baby girl! 3rd girl for us!
Married: August 2007 DD1: Oct 2012 DD2: Sept 2016 DC3: Due August 2018
Just heard back (after being a major squeaky wheel haha) that everything looks great, negative for all markers! We are picking up the sex in an envelope on Thursday so we can do a small reveal for family next weekend. So relieved!
*TTC History*
Me: 37, MH: 38; Married August 2017
TTC #1 October 2017: BFP on 12/1/2017, DD born 7/24/2018 @ 37+1 after induction due to preeclampsia
TTC #2 January 2020: AMA, dx with DOR in May 2020
IVF July 2020: 16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 12 fertilized, 3 blasts, 2 PGT-A normal
FET 10/7/20: BFP on 10/12/20!!! (EDD 6/25/21); First beta 10/16/20 (9dpt): 148; Second beta 10/19/20 (12dpt): 621; Third beta 10/26/20 (19dpt): 4732; Fourth (and final!) beta 11/2/20 (26 dpt): 22,000+
Had the draw on 1/22 and heard back today. Everything looks normal which is a relief to say the least! Still team green in spite of the OB office knowing darn well what we’re having... Which feels so bizarre to me!!
I just got my email that they received the order. This is going to be somewhat expensive, but I just couldn’t resist. The way my doctor’s office put it, I’ll be paying my deductible one way or another, so why not? But since DH lost his job we’ll be changing insurance, so I guess that doesn’t really work? Oh well, it’s only money.
Hey! For those of you who used Counsyl, how long was the sample in "lab review"? Mine has been processing for a week and finally is in lab review! --I called and they told me that once its in clinical review, that means its been released to your doctor, FYI-- so I am hopeful it will be in lab review only a day or two and get released to my doc on Monday! Let me know if you happened to see how long yours was in lab review. thanks!!
Does anyone else have trouble with the Natera website? I received an email and set up an account, but then it says there are no tests for me. Ugh. I guess I’ll just have to wait on my doctor to call me.

Did you get the card from your test kit with the control number on it? This happened to me with DD2. I went through Natera's whole process to set up my account, but because I didn't know to ask for that card from the test kit, i didn't have my control number and couldn't get my results until my doctor posted them.
I'll be asking for the card from the test kit this time around.
@lalala2004 with my first draw I received a text message from Natera that my Case has been received. Unfortunately it was inconclusive so I had to have a redraw. With my redraw I have received nothing.
Also with my first one I had the blood drawn on a Monday night and exactly a week later my results were posted. This second one this past Thursday was a week since the blood draw and still nothing.
