@ivyvines yes! My husband looks so baby faced without any facial hair. He occasionally fully shaves, it reminds me of when we first started dating... nearly 15 years ago! He knows I prefer facial hair!

We are having said “perfect” family (1 boy and 1 girl) and I still get asked if I wanted a boy instead. I think people are just programmed to ask these silly questions.
We have 2 boys and this is a girl. Everyone says we can quit now that I got my girl. It really kills me. I love my boys and I just feel blessed to have the opportunity to have children. It’s so hard for so many people.
Pretty similar to that, I hate when people assume DH is upset we're having a girl. Friday I got asked "so, how upset was he?" when I said it was a girl. Um, not at all.

Yeah I always “wanted” boys. I’m having a girl. It wasn’t upsetting for me but I know it is for some. When I say wanted, I meant that’s what I would pick but I knew I would be happy with either. Everyone assumes that I’m thrilled with the girl and DH is disappointed. He is an avid guitarist and he is constantly asked if he’s sad he won’t be having a son to teach guitar. He gets so mad. He truly didn’t care and I’ve come to realize over time that the only reason I “wanted” boys when I was younger was because of gender stereotypes.
(For the record, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being disappointed about the sex or having an initial reaction to the sex. I fully expected to be disappointed if I found out we were having a girl but I surprised myself and wasn’t disappointed at all)

@roomsu I'm so glad people are good with the number of children YOU have in YOUR family! Why do people feel like they can say when a family is "complete". We would have been done even if this baby was a boy. We were going for 2 children and not a boy and a girl.
I got really irritated when I posted on FB that we are having a girl. One of DH's buddies put a crying emoji. I was like "Does your friend think he's funny?" As the daughter of a man who was disappointed when I was a girl, I'm really sensitive about this!
When we told our parents it was another boy, my mom, and both of DH's parents said "good now DS can play baseball with a brother." They literally all said baseball. Because obviously two boys will both love to play baseball with each other and a sister clearly could not have participated. Dumb stereotypes!
I guess my UO is that I truly don't think I pay that much attention to which way I load the TP!!
But I do like some sort of facial hair on most guys; however I agree that some men just can't pull it off though. My only complaint is when DH suddenly changes his beard or something without warning. I also like a little chest hair...

What in the hell does your children's genitalia have anything to do with your skills/habits related to laundry?? I'm just getting so annoyed with the "boymom" stereotype. You never see "girlmom" or "girldad/boydad". My kids' sexes have nothing to do with my parenting style. And it's getting really old to hear, "Oh boys are so much work, they're so gross, blah blah blah, but they're SO sweet!!!" First of all, my girls fart louder than most adults I've heard, they pick their nose constantly, and I've had to yell at them multiple times to get things out of their butts/vagina, don't lick your sister's toe/face/random body part. And mostly, I find it offensive that people are basically implying that my girls aren't sweet and don't love on me the way a son would. My girls are so clingy to me sometimes that I can't handle it. They love giving me (and their Daddy) hugs and kisses and want to snuggle with us both all the time, and I don't think it has a single thing to do with how they pee. Sorry, that got really long. All of my ironing happened in the dryer before I became a boy mom anyway... I guess if I wanted a girl that badly I should have used an iron and ironing board leading up to conception, because that’s totally how that works, right?
Same here. I’m sure I could figure out how to use one but I’ve never touched one. My husband uses it to iron work clothes occasionally but I wear yoga pants and T-shirt’s to work so no ironing for this girl!
@cups4 I love Joseph Gordon Levitt. So adorable. Yeah, MH definitely uses the iron more often than I do. Maybe THAT'S where the girls came from..........

We are having a boy/girl twins and some people have said, "So, you're done then?" Well, I didn't know we had to run every major decision by you so if we decide to have more kids, you'll be the first to know. Nope.
I hate all the gender stereotypes! I feel like I run into them more living in the south than when I did growing up in the Midwest. My mil is amazing and I wish I could clone her and pass her out. I love her so much! However, she is from a very small town deep in the south and believes very deeply in gender roles. She always tells my niece not to play rough or get dirty because she is a girl. I hold my tongue because sil is on board with the ideas. Now that I’m having a girl...
@charlestonchew@justsuzie before we had children. My husband always said he wanted 2 girls, people never understood. When we got pregnant with twins he was a but scared of 3 girls, but we were still hoping for 1 of each. Now people ask if we're disappointed we aren't having another girl to "keep it even" people are just all over the place, crazy!
People assuming I wanted a girl instead of boy only bothers me slightly, but not nearly as much as when we first announced the baby and we had people (mostly family) ask if the baby was an accident because DS has autism. FTR, he's super excited about being a brother and is going to be awesome with the baby.
+1 for beards, mh looks 12 with out one he looks young 30s with one, but is actually 43 in 2 weeks. Damn men for aging gracefully.
The toilet paper debate : I don't care how it goes on, except that it goes back on. DH always leaves the roll in the sink or side of the tub which angers me, so I put it back on the way he doesn't like it on just to anger him. When he comes out and says you always put it on wrong I tell him because he never puts it on. The way it goes honestly doesn't matter to me.
On family gender reveals, my 80+ year old grandfather told my cousins who wanted a boy for their third but ended up with 3 girls to keep trying you'll eventually get one. His 5th child was a boy, then he 6th, then at 40 they had my mom and said nope too many girls.
As for ironing, I iron fabric I'm sewing and that's about it. I remember my mom would iron out jeans before school and I'd be impatiently waiting and thinking it was crazy. DH wishes I'd iron clothes because he likes his work clothes pressed. I tried once, hated it, told him where the iron was, and now everything gets sent to the dry cleaners.
Afm Friday nights are for going to bed early like 7pm not going out or having people over. I might value sleep too much.
