January has not been my month. I’ve been completely MIA from the board because 2 weeks ago I got violently sick and ended up in the hospital for 4 days with severe dehydration, low potassium, spiked fever etc. It was the first time I was ever away from DS overnight and the whole experience was super scary. I’ve never been so sick in my life.
It’s taken me a good 2 weeks to feel better and then yesterday, I fell down a flight of stairs! I fell onto my back so hard I couldn’t breathe and then started feeling tightening in my belly. It was absolutely terrifying. My doctor had me go straight to labor and delivery again. I’m finally home and in a lot of pain but grateful that baby is okay. (They watched me for a while and I’m on modified bed for a few days. They were initially concerned about trauma to the placenta but my tests thankfully came back okay but they also said that sometimes things don’t happen immediately so I have to go straight back to the hospital with any bleeding, contractions, fluids etc.) Anyone have any tips for my back? I can’t do heat they said. Just ice and Tylenol is all they said and I can honestly barely walk. I’m covered in bruises.
I’m feeling super guilty that I’ve put this baby through so much stress, medicines and tests. Trying to remember though that this all could have been so much worse and I just need to relax.
Okay end of my pity party. :-(

When I was pregnant with DS, I fell twice in two weeks straight into my stomach. Once was UP the stairs because I tripped on my cargo pants strings. The very next week, I tripped over computer cords that were jumbled on the floor and landed on the front/side of my belly.
Both resulted in L&D trips. So i am glad you went and that baby is fine!!
Most of my suggestions have been mentioned, chiropractor, or bath. I don't know how bruised your back is but could your Husband or a professional give you a good massage? My husband is terrible at massages that's why I suggest the professional.
I’m honestly still in a lot of pain. I really could only stay off my feet for a couple of days which had helped at the time but I was so behind with work and exhausted my childcare for DS when I was in the hospital. Trying to power through though. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is a professional massage but going to book that in the next week or two! I had another doctors appointment and ultrasound. Baby is looking absolutely fine so I’m trying to let go of the guilt!
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
Definitely go for a massage. It will calm the nerves as well as do wonders for your back. All the best!!!
